I have been using a basal thermometer and FertilityFriend for 20 cycles and starting my third cycle of Clomid. Just wondering approximately how many cycles does it take to get pregnant. Also do you have to have an orgasm (sorry for tmi) as I've found that is more difficult since the birth of my ds and wondering if that maybe the problem as to why I haven't gotten pregnant. But the good news is that I found out I did start to ovulate on my second cycle of Clomid so I really pray that this time will be the one and thanks for your help and input!! Getting frustrated ttc. ↓
I just found out I am pregnant today for my fifth child. My youngest is 12 months and after him I had a m/c and a chemical preg. I was put on Clomid 50mg and this was the third cycle. Good luck. Oh you do not need to have an orgasm to get pregnant. ↑
the key to Clomid is to be certain you are on the correct dose to get you to ovulate - your doctor should be monitoring this. That said, Clomid doesn't work for everyone, and even if you are ovulating that doesn't guarantee a pregnancy. Most resonsible doctors will not use clomid beyond 4 cycles. Good luck! ↑
KLM - What cycle day are you on I am on cd14 and this is my 3rd round of clomid 50mg I took it cd 2-6 I think with the other 2 cycle I didn't time bding right but on the main day he was gone. Krissy68

KLM, I got pg on my 3rd cycle of clomid, after trying for about a year, following a m/c. Make sure the doctors are checking your progesterone levels... I had it checked during the 2nd clomid cycle, and it was low, and they put me on a supplement following ovulation. I don't think that all doctors routinely check progesterone levels, so if they haven't checked yours, ask for it... I think it might have been my problem when I was ttc. I think the clomid helped by regulating my cycles (they were very long before.) Good luck to you! ↑
I'm now on cycle day 23 and have had two ovulation dips and spikes with Fertilityfriend and basal thermometer. I haven't had very high temps though so I don't think this cycle is going to work. My OB has me starting from day 5-9 with sex starting on day 11 every other day. I'm getting really frustrated especially since my hubby went for a sperm test and it came back normal so next time I go to the OB which is May 26 I'll ask to have my progesterone tested but I did have blood work done on my second cycle and it did show that I ovulated so its a real big mystery to me as to what is happening. But I'll keep everyone posted!!! ↑
My name is Kerri and now on cycle day 29 but my temps using the basal and Fertilityfriend have been low but according to my chart it looks like I ovulated twice? Sounds strange but that's what the chart looks like. I may not take another course of Clomid because of the side effects from it. I've been getting headaches, not sleeping well and sad more often with crying jags. I do though have an appointment with my OB on May 26 so I'll have to wait until then to see what he recommends. Just debating whether or not to use a pregnancy test just to check but I think it might be best to wait until tomorrow. Its so frustrating ttc with it seems like never any luck. So how about you, what cycle day are you on since we are on our third cycle of Clomid? Do you have any side effects from it? My only child is 28 months and very active!! KLM - Hey girl well I took a hpt with my fmu and I got a faint bfp so I am getting to go to the lab and have blood work done I am on cd 26 and AF is due May 12 I took clomid on cd 2-6 50mg and no I didn't have any s/e. Krissy68 ↑
That's wonderful news and I'm really glad as for my first child I got a faint positive after being a week late, so when are you due?? I got some bad news I'm on cd 32 and tested at a doctor's office and it was negative but yet no sign of my period which probably is on the way. Its so frustrating as I can't figure out the problem and even my OB would probably figure by now that I would be pregnant too but I'm going to stop the Clomid because of the headaches and see what happens when I go to my OB in a few weeks. I hope things get better but I'm even considering maybe not trying again since its heading now for two years with no luck. I also have felt under the weather since I had a dizzy spell in November with taking Advil every day for the headaches/dizziness. Maybe I'm going through the change of life since I'm 37. KLM - Well I don't think this is going to be my month after my faint + I have been getting BFN and I got the results back from my blood test and that was BFN but I took the test on Tuesday which was cd 26 AF is due on Monday May 12. I think I am going through the change as well I will be 40 next month I will keep you posted I will be seeing my Gyn soon I need to have my family dr do a referal because I haven't seen the gyn since I had my daughter 3 years ago. I'm sure that was disappointing and I guess I'm a little baffled as to why you would get a faint positive and then negative but a good idea to go see your OB. I'm sort of baffled too right now I'm on day 36 and still no period either after having a urine test done at the doctor's office and it coming back negative. My basal temps have been relatively low too and suggested that I didn't even ovulate this cycle so its a mystery to me too that I've reached day 36 and nothing to suggest either a pregnancy or period. I'll be 38 in October myself so I'd like too like you to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada and have an excellent OB called Dr. Brad Jasey and I was thinking about maybe calling the office to see what I should do since my next appointment isn't until May 28. But I'll keep praying for both of us and hopefully soon it will happen. Hope you had a great Mother's Day as I went out for Chinese food for supper which is always great!!! Did you get your period yet as well as I know you said you were due May 12?? ↑
Wow I'm glad that you are going to see your doctor since you are flowing that much. I can sympathize with you as about three periods ago I had the same thing but the OB told me that I may have heavier bleeds because of the Clomid but still a good idea to check. I'm 38 days today and no period yet so I'm hoping that if I can get through another week it may happen but we'll wait and see. I hope you get some better news as to why the heavy flow. Sorry to hear that you had your period and hopefully the next cycle of Clomid will do the trick. Also glad to hear that you are now spotting as opposed to having a heavy flow. Also sorry to hear that it might have been a m/c I know I think I've had at least two myself lately and its very frustrating. I'm on cd 44 with no period so maybe this cycle for me maybe the one. I took though a home pregnancy test on Sunday which came back negative so I'm not really sure what's going on plus I have a bad cold right now to boot so that doesn't help either. KLM - How are you doing I am doing much better. I am now done with AF which I am so glad. I didn't take clomid this cycle I wanted to give my body a break to see what will happen on my on. The only thing I am doing this month is taking my prenat vit and baby asprin I did start to take robintussin on cd 10 not really sure why I am taking it cause I only took one clomid pill and that was on cd 3 anyway I will take the robintussin for I guess 10 days I should ovulate on cd 18. I also started doing the opk test strip on cd 10 I ordered them off the internet today when I tested I got a real faint second line and my temp went up from 97.78 to 98.30 but the direction said if the test line is light then it is a negative but I will be bding anyway just in case. I go and see my gyn on my 40th birthday which is on Jun 3 and I am going to let him know that I want to be real aggressive since I am 40 so I want more then the clomid I just hope my insurance will pay. I think we both have ESP because if I find out that I am not pregnant this cycle then I too am going to skip the Clomid for a month as well just to see how it will work. Glad to see that you also use a basal thermometer as I do my temps have mainly stayed in the 36.51 range in the morning which really isn't too high I think to be pregnant but as I said last post still no period either? That is really unfortunate that your insurance may not cover what you need. I am fortunate that whenever I need a script for Clomid its only $5.00. But I've tried the ClearBlue Ovulation Kits which normally run in Canada about $50-$55 a kit and have had no luck with them yet so let me know what brand of ovulation strips you are using and maybe I will try them as well. Still sick from my cold hoping to feel better by the weekend!! So take care and definitely keep my posted!! ↑
KLM - How are you doing? What cycle day are you on? I am on cd 21 and my temp is 98.70, I should start AF on June 10. I have insurance and my clomid would be $10 I was talking about if I had to do IVF or IUI that they will not cover that. I order my opk test strip off the internet. Krissy68 ↑
On cd 53 but very disappointed, I went to my OB on Wednesday and he can't figure out what is wrong. I started to spot on day 50 of my cycle and went for blood work as well on Wednesday and found out yesterday that it was a negative and have a very light flow of blood. He is sending me for an ultrasound on Monday to see if there is a cyst or tumour that maybe the problem. I'm so frustrated right now as normally you don't go that many days without having a period and then you get a very light flow and be negative. He also told me to stop ttc which is also disappointing until he sees what's wrong. I go back to him on Wednesday after the ultrasound to see what's wrong. I even called the people who make Clomid and they are really baffled as well as to why I went so long and getting a negative? Also I have no idea now if I should count this flow as a period or when to start the Clomid again. I was really hopeful up until Tuesday but my temps have still not really been that high this cycle in the first place to even indicate that I ovulated. i did clomid and got preg on the second try --i am not a good person to go by because i had a mc last summer and got preg only trying once...MY doc put me on clomid cause of my egg reserve was not so good..I am not so convinced thats true ..I do believe i was ovualting since i got preg so fast...I just wanted to tell you that when i researched clomid i was concerned because it said it makes the cervical mucous thick and not friendly to the sperm..It said to take guaifenesin for like a week..research it i am not sure exaclty how long you should take it but i thought it was like a weeek before ovualation............how much clomid are you on?? i was on clomid and ovidrel...the clomid to make a nice follicle and the ovidrel to make it rupture and i would ovulate..DONT get frustrated you will get preg...when you are stressed it dont happen so relax--if possible i know. The last thing i am is relaxed.....................hey lol i also read orgasm help give the sperm a boost........drink a lot of water to keep that cervical mucous thin since you are on the clomid........

KLM - I am so sorry that you are going through this. I hope the u/s give the doctor some type of clue as to what is going on with your body. I didn't know that clomid could do your body like that. Well hopefully tomorrow too I will get some answers after the result of the ultrasound and transvaginal tests. I'm really frustrated still and hardly flowing but getting to the bottom of things will help. I was supposed to start my next cycle of Clomid today but I am going to skip it until I see my OB tomorrow and see what he says. I will pray that all of us will get pregnant soon. I also called a fertility problem phone line on the Clomid box and she told me not to stay on Clomid more than 4 cycles? I have a 12 repeat on my script so I found that very interesting and after telling her what happened that I went 52 days and getting a negative result really baffled her. So now its up to the OB and please let me know Krissy how you make out and I will do the same tomorrow. Thanks Traccy for your post and my OB told me that my egg count, quantity and quality was good and that it shouldn't take long to get preg but obviously there is definitely a problem!! KLM - How did it go for you. Well I am cd 25 7dpo and I did a hpt and it was neg I wanted to give myself a birthday present. I went to the dr and told him just what I wanted to do and he had no problem. AF should be showing up next week if not then good if so then good I will be on 50mg/clomid cd 3-7 1mg/estradiol (estrogen which I am not sure what this is for) 3 pills twice a day bd cd 10-16 and start taking prog sup if I get pg then I will keep taking the prog sup until I am 10wks. He said we will do this for 3 cycles and if this don't work then we will move onto something else. I had my blood work done and he told me to make an appointment to have a u/s whenever so if AF show up then I will wait until after I finish taking the clomid before making my appointment. Also my insurance covered my meds at $10 each I am so happy about that. They had to specially order the prog sup so when that come in they will mail it to my house. I will keep you updated. Sounds very interesting and hopefully no a/f as it may still be early to test for you this cycle. Unfortunately I'm no better off knowing what to do after yesterday's appt with my OB. He told me I had small cysts on my ovaries but that it shouldn't interefere with ttc? He told me to go for another 3 cycles of Clomid and if nothing happens then he mentioned about sending me to get some shots. But he thinks that mostly nature should take its course instead of using medication but as I told him it still doesn't explain why I went 53 days and get a negative result on the blood work. So back to the drawing board again as now he told me to do a cd5-9 Clomid and then baby dance from days 10 every other day until day 20. Not much different than what I was doing before so we'll wait and see what happens now. I found it interesting he put you on estradiol and let me know how that works as maybe I will mention that one as well if nothing happens. Glad to hear that your insurance isn't too expensive so you can get what you need. So as they say here we go again but will keep you posted and take care. ↑
KLM - I hope this cycle works for you and I hate when the dr don't answer all your questions and still wondering about certain things. Well I guess I spoke to soon about my insurance I have my clomid and estrodiol but the progestren supplem is going to cost me $50 so I told them to hold off I am going to see if I can get it somewhere else cheaper or see if the dr will give me a generic form. Hey girls just wanted to let you know that I did test it is cd 28 and 10dpo and it was BFN. I guess the witch is on her way because my temps from Monday cd 24 6dpo 98.70, cd 25 7dpo 98.46, cd 26 8dpo 98.52 cd 27 9dpo 98.13 and today cd 28 10dpo 98.10. That's my update. Krissy68 ↑
How's it going? Here still pretty frustrating but I thought I would pass on some interesting news. I called my local pharmacist and I have been taking 4-6 Advil a day to combat the headaches from the Clomid and he told me that if I take alot of Advil after the last Clomid pill that the egg may not or won't implant in the womb suggesting that I probably m/c my last cycle which would make sense since I was 52 days with a BFN. I wish I would have known that sooner but I guess you learn every day. I'm just frustrated with the whole thing and while I'm supposed to start bd tonight I just keep thinking that why bother as probably just like the last 20 cycles that I've tried nothing will probably happen anyway. I feel that it was my fault for taking the Advil and should have known better and really upset that I miscarried probably because of it last cycle. Got a case of the baby blues today and had to vent. Hope things are going better for you, keep in touch and take care. ↑
KLM - Thank you for the information on the advil and you know you can vent anytime you need to. Don't give up it will happen and I know it is easier said then done. I am starting my first prescribed cycle of clomid the other 2 cycles were u/p clomid and last cycle I didn't do anything.
