I had my first ultrasound this week and I should be 7 weeks, it showed 6 weeks w/o a heartbeat. Im not sure of my HCG level and I dont go to the doctor for another three weeks. Should I be worried or is it too soon to see maybe? I have heard about missed miscarriages and am very nervous! this is my second pregnancy, my first was a m/c though.

First off, don't panic. You may have ovulated/conceived later than you think. 6 weeks is often too early to see a hb. If you can't wait till your doctor's appt, get your hCG levels tested to see if they're doubling every 48-72 hours. You could also have another u/s in a couple weeks. By 8 weeks, they should be able to see a hb. If you're really worried, try to get your doc appt moved up. The important thing is to stay calm and positive. Everything else is out of your hands. Good luck to you.

Do you by any chance have a tilted uterus?? If you do it may be hard to see the baby's heartbeat. There is a really good website, the women are SO supportive, and have tons of answers. It's misdiagnosedmiscarriage dot com. 6 weeks is still really early. I heard most can see the heartbeat until 7 wks. And my doctor told me not to worry about measuring a week behind this early, there could be TONS of reasons for it!! Good luck!
