does anyone have any recommendations for a breast pump that is easy to use/clean etc. I'm currently thinking of getting a manual one but am open to suggestions on electric ones, if manual pumps are no good.... any advice appreciated!

Check out this website, the links on the right side have advice on choosing a pump.

When you decide, I would also suggest these breast shields from Pumpin Pal. They are so much more comfortable than the ones that come with the pumps and they allow you to sit back a little. I also got more milk out.

Manual pumps are great - the hospital gave me one for free and I had that thing for a long time and tossed it out right before I learned I was pg with number 2 I would have loved to have it for when we traveled instead of bringing a big bulky electric pump it worked great!

I have a manual Avent one which is very easy to use and avaliable in the UK where I am! It's simple to use, quiet and you can express into little tubs for the freezer or straight into a bottle. My little girl was in intensive care for the first week so we had an electric one at the hospital but I find this one much more comfortable and easier to use and recently went to Scotland with me no probs. Good luck.
