After M/C, how many cycles till you are 'back to normal'?

i had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and had a DC. It took 9 weeks to have my period and I ovulated 12 days before (Ov pred kit) as is normal for me. I was meant to ovulate last week and my urine sticks didn't tell me, but I was doing them in the morning, when you aren't meant to... I was wondering if after your first cycle, did things go back to normal or did it take a while?

Hello! After my missed m\c I had one 'normal' period and then got pregnant with my daughter. I assume things would go back to normal after that first period. I could very well be wrong. I know that after I had my daughter my periods slowly but surely went back to normal, although I had hyperthyroidism too. I am sorry if this wasn't much help.

I had a D&C at 12 weeks, my first AF 50 days later and my cycle is still messed. My second AF showed up at 36 days with O on CD 21. Then for my most recent I o'd on or around CD 29! I am currently at CD 34 and waiting....I really hope this gets back in order (or that I am pregnant this cycle) because it is very frustrating.

I had an early miscarriage at 6 weeks but baby most likely stopped developing after about three weeks. There was no sac on ultrasound. I did not need a D&C, passed it naturally. Had first cycle like clockwork 30 days from the day I stopped bleeding from mc, and I am currently waiting for my second cycle to start. I am 8 days late and no sign of AF at all and about 10 BFN pregnancy tests...its so frustrating! I just want to know why my first cycle was normal and now I am off...is this normal? I hope your cycles get back to normal ASAP, this baby makin is hard enough without worrying about "why aren't I starting if I'm not pregnant!?" Good luck:)

Lexxy, how are you checking your ovulation? I'm using urine sticks. This month, i didn't get a surge so i went to my dr yesterday and she said that 1 out of every 8 cycles we won't even ovulate! HOW DOES ANYONE FALL PREGNANT!!! Man! She also said that generally after your first cycle comes after m/c you should be pretty much back to normal give or take a couple of days. Lets hope so. We did the deed every 2nd day for 8 days before I should have O this cycle so i'm going to be spewing if this is THE month I don't ovulate!
It is so frustrating. It annoys me too when people say, "just stop thinking about it and it will happen." What a load of crap! I don't know about you but I have a 36 day cycle and if I wasn't "thinking about it", I never would have found out that I ov day 25 not 14, or 17 or 21! When I wasn't really thinking about it, we were putting all the effort inh about 10 days early! Every friend of mine is pregnant at he moment or is just about to give birth or has a baby. Hopefully this month. Hopefully I did Ov but I just missed it on the sticks but all the little guys were in the right place at the right time. We'll know on Mon. Best of luck to you.

Cassie - I am temping and using Fertility Friend, as well as checking my cervix. I had no luck with the OPK, I wasted so much money on them and never got any positive results. Before my M/C I used to know about when I would ovulate, and temped to confirm it...now, I have no idea so we are pretty much BDing every second day after CD 10. I am 10 DPO now and the wait is driving me crazy....I know I have to wait a couple more days..

Cassie - I don't have any real advice for the OPKs as I've never used them. But testing in the morning when it's not recommended might easily explain why it didn't detect your O this past cycle. After my first D&C in January, my cycles were more-or-less back to my normal 28-days ASAP. 32 days the first cycle after, 29 the next. Got pregnant during the third. As you know, it took exactly 9 weeks before AF showed up after my 2nd D&C in May. 2nd cycle was 31 days, and AF just showed up 3 days ago at 27 days. So, cycle length-wise, I'm more or less back to normal. Course, these periods don't feel like normal - heavier flow, crampy, and shorter. Anyway, we'll be TTC in earnest this month. Wish us luck. Lots of baby dust to you as well.
