Am I having a miscarriage???

Hi there, I'm 4 - 5 weeks pregnant. I woke up the other night with a terrible pain in my lower stomach, I thought someone stabbed me. I went to the washroom and there was no blood, so I went back to bed. Later that day I was taking a nap, woke up and when I got in the shower I had the same pain. I rushed to the hospital where I was given internal and external ultrasounds. They only determined I had a sac, with nothing inside. Last week I went to the washroom and something was expelled. I called my husband in and we weren't sure what it was. It was about 2 inches long, and looked like nothing I've ever seen before. I did not bleed or have any pain with that. I wonder if I miscarried already??? My HCG levels are about 2600. They could not tell me if I miscarried or not, and did not reassure me in the least. Please let me know if this has happened to anyone else, and what to expect. If I miscarried wouldn't I bleed out? I know maybe not right away, but it's been over a week with nothing. I'm supposed to go to the doc tomorrow to take more HCG levels, but I'm a wreck. I have hypertension and this is not helping. I had a stillborn daughter Jan. 31st 2008, so I know everything that can happen. Please, honest answers. No sugar coating.

chuckntracey: well you didn't really tell what the thing you passed looked like so no one will be able to say "oh yes i've had a miscarriage before and saw something similar to what you described" so you might explain that a little bit, but without bleeding, usually doctors don't consider it a miscarriage. i'm curious as to what your hcg levels are.
