Okay, so I am wondering if I am or not.. pregnant that is (otherwise I would be on a different site, lol.) I am not late, and my period is not due till the 15th of May, and I have a 28 day cycle.. you do the math. :) I have been having some symptoms though, hot flashes, dizzy, nauseous, cramping, headaches, and a few others I could name.. The cramping though only occured most of one day, then continued for a couple hours the next day. I realize with the timeing, it would be too early to take a pregnancy test and have anything come up, BUT, silly me! I did, and nothing came up at first, (the first three minutes or whatever the time is for the First Response test) but I checked back a little later.. less than 15 mintues, and it was positive.
I know they say to disregard any test after, what, 10 minutes..? But I was wondering, because I am so impatient, might it have just taken a little longer than 3 minutes to have anything show up? Is there a possibility that I may be pregnant? Any way to tell before the missed period, aside from the '5 days sooner' pregnancy test? ↓
I was also thinking about it and it sounds dumb, but my boyfriend thinks it's menopause.. but much too young for that. Is there any possible reason for these symptoms to be caused by something else..? ↑
With a 28 day cycle, and your period not due till the 15th (giving you 10 more days) it is most likely your symptoms are from ovulation. Hormones fluctuate just as greatly at ovulation as they do at the onset of your period and or if you were to be pregnant. Because you are literally in the middle of your cycle I would say it is definitely ovulation. And if the test went over its time limit, you should assume that + is an evaporation line. If you are concerned that it truly isn't an evaporation line you should test again. The way to know if it was an evap or a true postive is that an evap will be very very light, colorless or pretty colorless, and will eventually dry to a very ugly miscolored line or will disappear all together. If it is positive it should be exactly where the test line indicates, it should be as thick as the control line and it should have either very obvious pink or blue coloring to it. If it is indeed positive you would have been pregnant since your last cycle, so GL! ↑
Great, thank you so much! That helps out a lot! I was just wondering because these 'symptoms' aren't normal for my ovulation. I usually go without cramps (period or not) no headaches, no.. nothing.. I was wondering though, should I wait until the 11th (5 days before my period) to test again.. or would it be safe to assume with the last test showing something (whether it be evap or positive) to test within the next couple of days? ↑
You could do either or both. I would assume if indeed that test was positive that it would show positive again if you tested right away. If it makes you feel better though to test closer to the time your period is due 3-4 days max before your period is suggested and the % of accuracy goes up the longer you wait. GL! ↑
Bobcat16 - I think me and you are in the same place. I should get AF on May 12 and I took my hpt this morning and I got a fait + went and had a blood test but the results will be back in 2 days. I went to one of them free clinic and the lady was rude she said it was a NEG I really didn't believe it so I just took the test again and got another faint + I am cd 26. What do you ladies think? When I was doing the test the control line turn quick and the test line turn also just lighter and it said 25miLu. What does that means? Krissy68 ↑
Krissy68 - So you got a faint + too, right? From the sounds of it, and my past experience with my last pregnancy, it would seem to me you are, though, you did test a couple days ahead of time for the '5 DS' tests. The first time I was pregnant, I took a hpt and got a +, went to a free clinic and it came up negative, the next day I took another hpt and got another +.. Now I don't want to say, "You are, congratulations!" Because I know that getting all hyped up about it, then finding out you aren't is.. can be rather, disappointing. But in my opinion, I think you are +. Quick question(s), what is cd.. and what is miLu..? Don't know a whole lot about all that.. just the hpt, pos. vs. neg. Heh. Well, turns out that faint + was a big fat lie! Lol. Just an evap line. Big negative for me, but I figure it's okay, because I've got school starting in July, for four months, and after that, it will be perfectly fine (and much better timing) to have another child. :) I was quite convinced I was preg though.. had the most extreme symptoms from my ovulation I've never experienced before.
