Amniotic fluid and the mucus plug

What are the characteristics of the mucus plug? I have read that it generally has a snotty or clear discharge look, but what I haven’t been able to find anything describing the odor. Also I would like to know the characteristics of the amniotic fluid. I’ve read that it has a sweet smell. I’m unsure if I experienced my mucus plug coming undone ... showing (I don’t know how you would describe it) and I even thought that it might have been my water leaking.

When my mucus plug came out it was a thick mucusy blob There wasn't just a little bit that it could have been confused with amniotic fluid. If it continues call your doctor.
