Just wanted to know if any March 09 mommies have moved over here yet? My name is Katie and I am due March 5 (baby is measuring right on track for this to be the due date). I wasn't too involved in the first trimester board and don't come on here too often, but just wanted to start a thread for March mommies. This is my second pregnancy. My daughter was stillborn at full term in August 2007. We decided to wait a while before TTC again. In fact, we weren't going to TTC until August, but I got a BFP on July 1. We are super excited and I am putting all of my trust for this little one in our mighty Creator. So hey to all the March mommies out there! ↓
Hi Cody, Thanks for starting the March thread here. I remember reading your story and it broke my heart. I am so happy that you are pregnant again and that we can share in the journey with you. I have had my fair share of heartache, but nothing in comparison to you. I have had 5 losses, but have on beautiful son aged 6. I have been given another shot at this and I am very grateful. P.S. my due date is March 12th. ↑
I am happy to be preggos again too, although I'm sure because you have had losses you understand how hard it can be. My blood pressure goes up every time I have to go into that doctors office. I am so looking forward to feeling movement. I say lots of prayers for this little one and I know He hears me....but I just get caught up in my own emotions sometimes. I had my appointment today and baby has a HB of 150-160 BPM. I hope that means it's another girl, but I will be happy with a healthy little boy too. ↑
Yes, I know exactly how you feel. Just like you, every appoint. I am nearly passing out with fear. Glad to hear your docs appoint. went well. Are you going to find out the sex? I am planning on finding out around 16 weeks (having a amnio). Take Care. ↑
Yes, we are going to find out the sex. I'm not doing the AFP or Amnio (I'm 24 & DH is 26), but because of my stillbirth, I see my regular OB and a perinatologist. The regular OB will be doing her mid-preg u/s the end of October/early November, but the perinatologist wants to do hers between 19 & 20 weeks, so I'm going to make my appontment tomorrow. So hopefully if the baby cooperates we will know by the middle of October when I'm about 20 weeks. ↑
Hi ladies, mind if I join you? I am 13 wks tomorrow. I also had an appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat. I have had 3 miscarriages but I do have 3 teenagers so this will be my fourth baby. I'm having a NT scan on Monday. I am due on the 13th of March but I will have c-section on the 7th at 39 wks. ↑
Welcome Katie! we are one day apart on our due dates. I had my NT scan last week and all looked good. But after 5 losses I need more positive results. That is why I have decided to go with the Amnio at 16 weeks. Good luck with your test. All of my losses were Trisomies. What was the cause of your losses? I am 39, so this is another reason I am doing a Amnio. ↑
Hey Denise, my first loss was at 8wks, a missed miscarriage doctor just said it was chromosonal. No testing was done. Then I had 2 chemical pregnancies so I'm sure the baby just didn't implant right. I'm 38 and so excited to be pg again. I hope my NT looks good. If it does then I will not have the amnio. Did you get any guesses on the sex yet? ↑
Hi Katie, no it was too early to find out the sex. I am thinking girl, just because I was so sick the first few weeks. My ds is 6 and I was not too sick with him. I am so paranoid with this pregnancy, it is sometimes overwhelming. I guess that's part of the deal when suffering so many losses. But it's nice to have company that understands how you feel and can share the journey. I have been haivng ultrasounds every week, so that has helped with the anxiety. Now I will go every two weeks just for the next month. ↑
Hi Katie. My name is Katie too! My hubby's name is Cody, so that's how I got my SN. Welcome to this chat. I'm sorry to hear about your losses as well. So we're all early March mommies so far. Congrats on making it to the 13 week mark. I had a c-section delivery w/Brooke (my daughter), but I am going to attempt a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) because my c-section was really due to Brooke's breech position. Plus, I have a genetic mutation called Factor V Leiden which makes my blood a little more prone to blood clots, so both my OB and my perinatologist are in agreeance that they don't want me to have another c-section unless absolutely needed. I am hoping though that this baby will make it's debut a week or two before my due date though....they can't induce a VBAC, so I'm just hoping baby will not go all the way until my due date. I would have taken whatever I could get, but I said a special thank you to God for not having me be due in the summer time again...my last one I was due in August and it was just so MISERABLE. I live in Arizona, so you can only imagine....March is perfect weather for me. :) ↑
Hi Katie, thanks for the welcome. Actually my name isn't Katie, that is my daughters name. My first name is Felicia. I had originally signed in under that name about a year and a half ago but I forgot my password under that login so I created a new one. I do love the name Katie though as you can tell. My doctor actually asked me what I wanted to do as far as a VBAC and I'm just scared of rupturing something if I push too hard so I'm most likely going to stick with the C-section again. Sorry to hear about the blood clotting issue. Do you have to take shots while your pg for that? Denise, you are so lucky to get to have ultrasounds every week. Trust me I know what you mean about the anxiety. Some days I just don't feel pregnant but of course by belly tells me I am so I don't freak out as much. My dh is hoping for a girl and I really don't care either way. I already have 3 children. My oldest dd is 18 and I have a set of twins boy/girl that are 16 so this is completely starting over again but I don't care. My kids are to the age where they will be leaving the nest soon and I'm glad that I will have children around me as I get older. My dh is so excited, this will be his first child and he wants a little girl so I am hoping for that. According to the chinese lunar calendar I'm suppose to have a girl but who knows. I'm sure that is just a gimmick. Anyways, have a great day ladies. ↑
I just wanted to pipe in....I am 12 weeks today and I cannot wait to join the second trimester board!!! When am I considered in the second trimester cause I have heard 13 weeks, 14 weeks, and 15 weeks!? ↑
Courtney, you are more than welcome to join. Haha, I'm not picky as to when the second tri starts because it is so confusing...all the websites say different things! I went by 12 weeks my last pregnancy, but then baby center said 14 weeks...oh who cares? :)....Felicia, did you have a vertical incision because of your twins (if that was your c-section delivery). Sometimes I get a little nervous about rupture, but my perinatologist assured me that the type of incision and the way I was stitched up (double layer of sutures and staples) is the best circumstances for a VBAC. My deliveries will be 19 months apart and she says that the uterus is an amazingly strong muscle. So, when the weather cools down, I'm going to go back to my drinking red raspberry leaf tea to "prepare" my uterus. I don't have to do shots, since i only have a single genetic mutation and I didn't test positive for any other clotting factors (I had 7 vials of blood tested). We found it because my mom has had issues w/blood clots, so they tested me. I didn't develop a clot after my c-section, so they think my risk is low, but they do have me taking a baby aspirin every day for my entire pregnancy. So far so good. ↑
Katie, no I had a bikini horizontal cut. My doctor did a great job. Do you think I would be ok to attempt a VBAC with the horizontal cut? Courtney, according to everything that I have read I believe it starts wk 14 but who cares. Welcome aboard! ↑
Thanks guys! I'll lay low for the next two weeks, then surprise! I'll be here in full force!! I am glad to hear everyone is doing well!! When (if you guys are planning to) are you scheduled to find out what you're having?! ↑
Felicia, the decision to VBAC is really your own decision and I'm not the type to push someone into it, but if you are interested in it, do some research. After looking into it and talking to my doc, I personally want to have a VBAC for a few reasons. I associate my c-section w/my daughter's delivery which was not a pleasant experience due to the circumstances. I had no complications w/the c-section itself or recovery (I mean, it was as painful as you could expect it to be) and I too had a low transverse (bikini) cut. Your uterus should DEFINITELY be healed with 16 years having gone by. I really felt like I didn't "give birth", and I want to experience that, as crazy as it sounds. Plus, Cody and I want 3 or 4 living children, and usually after 3 c-sections, the doc says there's too much scar tissue...thin uterus...etc....so that would basically limit how many kids I can have if I go through with an elective c-section this time. Being that I've never gone through labor, the docs say there is no reason as to why I should repeat a c-section if everything is going well with this baby. My OB's office says they have a high success rate w/VBAC and my peri says that when she has seen uterine rupture in a VBAC, it has been caught so early in labor that really no damage was done to mom or baby. They just did another c-section and repaired the tear while in there. She said the worst ruptures she has seen have been on women with NO uterine surgery (pitocin just overstimulated their uterus) and those women who had the classical vertical c-section incision. Did you have a vaginal delivery w/your oldest child? If so, your chances of having another are very high. It's great that your doc was even willing to talk to you about VBAC....so many docs don't even do them these days because they can't make you work on their time frame (no induction). My doc is an hour away because the docs at the nearest hospital w/L&D don't do them. But, I'm happy w/the care I'm receiving, so I'm not complaining.....On a different note, I scheduled my mid-pregnancy ultrasound w/my perinatologist on October 10th. So hopefully baby will cooperate and we will find out what it is! I'll be 19 weeks. YA! ↑
Hi ladies!! Katie it is so good to hear from you again. I was just thinking about you the other day. We were in the Aug 07 group together. This is our 6th pregnancy and hopefully 3rd baby here on earth with us. I'm due Mar 18. We have two other girls a 5 year old and a 12 month old. Felicia, I know some docs won't do VBACs and others are all for it. Courtney, yes we do plan on finding out the gender of the baby...I'm already driving myself crazy wondering and thinking about names :) They typically do the 'big ultrasound' at 20 weeks, that's when they check the heart and circulation, look at the placenta, measure the baby and the amount of amniotic fluid, they check for abnormalities and then check the gender. I hope everyone's doing well. ↑
Kim, I do remember you from my last pregnancy. It's so fun to see some of the same mommies here again. I am so excited to find out what this baby is...I have a feeling it's a girl, but sometimes I think that's because deep down I really want another girl, although I will be just as thankful and happy with a healthy little boy. We're due just about 2 weeks apart, so cool. Well, today is hubby's bday so I've got to go wrap his present while he's out hunting....I hope he doesn't bring anything home. :) ↑
I am Elodie and I'm 12 wks pregnant and due on March the 16th. I just arrived in the US (i m French and my husband is here for 18months). I had a scan in france that shows everything is normal but i need to find a Dr here.
I already have a question for you:
What last name are you allowed to give the baby? Mine, my husband's or both.
Although we are married I still have my passport and ID under my maiden name. In France we can now choose which last name to give and I'd like my baby gets the same on his/her US birth certificate as on the French one. Don't know if I made myself clear.
hello march mommies!! my name is tammy, i am 26 and live in indiana with my dh jeremy and my ds logan, who is now 4. my due date is march 1st im praying girl haha but boy would be just as great! i took 4 total rounds of clomid to get this pregnancy. I am feeling great, no more ms or tiredness all day long,.. so im very greatful for that!! is anyone eles near me.... And eldoie, im pretty sure you can put whatever name you want on the birth certificate, i was not married to my ds father and put the fathers last name down, but im not sure about different states.. ↑
Welcome Elodie, Sarah, and Tammy. Elodie, I believe you can put whatever last name you want on the birth certificate. I would just try to coordinate it so that it is easier to travel out of the country. I'm 14w5d and been feeling pretty good. I am surprised that I still fit in a lot of my jeans (just barely). My hips have been hurting me at night, although not as badly as they were a few nights ago. My boobs still get occassionally sore, but other than that feeling pretty good. I'm just surprised that I'm still in normal clothes considering this is my second. My doc says my uterus sits a little to the back. so maybe that's what I'm not showing as soon as I thought I would be. Haha, or maybe it's a boy cuz I'm carrying differently so far. ↑
Hi girls! I am due March 17, 2009 with our first. My husband and I are really excited about having a child. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy pregnancy. ↑
Thks for ur answers. I finally found a hospital and we have an appointment next Tue with a health advisor who will help us finding a OB Dr and plan the following appointment. I m relief cause I was very worried giving birth in a different country.
CodyKatie5, I too still fit into my clothes. My breast is a bit bigger says my husband and my tummy a bit hard at some point but otherwise i m feeling good. A bit tired though. I m impatient to see my belly grows, feel its kicks....
Big hello to all the newbies....Welcome!!! Okay so I have a question, has anyone felt any flutters yet? I thought I did last week which would have been week 13, but I think I must have been crazy. It's way o early. I think I started to feel my ds around 16 weeks, but I can't remember. My belly has started to pop out and is pretty obvious (I think). I did not show until 6 mths with my son. I am 14 weeks Thursday and head in for another Ultrasound. I am still feeling a little sick on and off throughout the day. But energy levels are getting better. I am a older Momma..39 ouch! so I am pretty tired most of the time. ↑
I am due on March 13th :) I had my screening and everything looked good - got the news back yesterday. I have one daughter that is 14years old, and have had two miscarriages before this pregnancy. I was told this was going to end up in a miscarriage as well.... but all is good so far :) Still scared :( ↑
Denise, I am almost 15 weeks and I sometimes think I feel flutters too....I didn't really acknowledge that I was feeling movement with my daughter until about 16.5 to 17 weeks with my daughter. It's like, I think I feel movement, but then if I don't feel it again for a while I think it wasn't movement. All I know is that I can't wait to feel baby move on a consistent basis. I think that eases a lot of our momma fears when that starts to happen. ↑
Welcome Jodeey, so glad your pregnancy is going well. Katie, I can't wait to feel movement also, just for the reassurance. I really think I must have felt gas or something LOL and thought it was flutters. The baby is only 3 1/2 inches right now, so the odds are slim. ↑
This is my and my boyfriends 2nd attempt (1st was not together). Both previously married to not so great people. I was about 13 weeks along when I lost my daughter and his daughter was still born at full term. I am 15 weeks (soon to be 16 weeks) and am due on March 1st. I've been think I'm feeling the baby but I'm not really sure. Too me it feels a little like my stomach growling but it's not growling (if that makes sense). I'll be happy when I can know for sure that I am feeling the baby. My b/f has been very happy but very scared at the pregnancy. I stopped worrying when I past the 13 mark but he has until the baby is born to worry. The heart rate for his baby had dropped a few days prior to when his wife didn't notice anymore and some to find out her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. So I ordered a fetal heart monitor for him today. I think it will give him sort of relief to be able to hear the heartbeat himself. ↑
Welcome Brandie. I am sorry to hear of your loss and your boyfriend's loss. I can definitely identify w/your b/f....I lost my daughter at full term due to a cord accident (three times around her neck) a little over a year ago. Going through another pregnancy after a loss is hard, but I just have to trust this baby to God. He's ultimately in control anyways and it takes away my anxiety over the situation. My hubby is the same as me, but you can tell we both are just anxious to hear a screaming baby this time. ↑
