Hello. I am going to be having my 4th c-section just before I turn 39 and am contemplating on whether or not to have my tubes done during this section. I have heard so many conflicting stories of fine versus bad side effects. Please share! ↓
LOVEMY3!!! How are you? Hope the pregnancy is going well and you and bub are healthy and happy. I had my tubes tied at my 4th section. Since I had all mine about a year apart I don't know if it was the tubal or all those too close c's that changed my periods. Anyhow, there is anecdotal evidence (mostly from moms) that shows heavier periods with cramping. I did have that, and I am sure you remember how my personal experience went from there. Anyhow, it is great birth control and you are already on the table. I would get the down and dirty from your doc, and ask him/her to explore the risk/benefits with you. ↑
I didn't experience any difference. I always had extremely heavy bleeding and I did after my tubal, too... but it was the same heaviness as before. As far as a tubal during a c-section vs. one done not during a c-section, my doc said that it's a myth that c-section tubals create more problems. Some women DO report problems after a tubal, but it makes no difference whether they have it done during a c-section or not. ↑
I was looking into this for the future as I don't want to be on bc forever. There is a thread in the pregnancy complications section that kind of scares me though....women still getting pregnant after a tubal. I would check it out. ↑
