Any bad side effects from having a tubal during c-section?

Hello. I am going to be having my 4th c-section just before I turn 39 and am contemplating on whether or not to have my tubes done during this section. I have heard so many conflicting stories of fine versus bad side effects. Please share!

LOVEMY3!!! How are you? Hope the pregnancy is going well and you and bub are healthy and happy. I had my tubes tied at my 4th section. Since I had all mine about a year apart I don't know if it was the tubal or all those too close c's that changed my periods. Anyhow, there is anecdotal evidence (mostly from moms) that shows heavier periods with cramping. I did have that, and I am sure you remember how my personal experience went from there. Anyhow, it is great birth control and you are already on the table. I would get the down and dirty from your doc, and ask him/her to explore the risk/benefits with you.

I didn't experience any difference. I always had extremely heavy bleeding and I did after my tubal, too... but it was the same heaviness as before. As far as a tubal during a c-section vs. one done not during a c-section, my doc said that it's a myth that c-section tubals create more problems. Some women DO report problems after a tubal, but it makes no difference whether they have it done during a c-section or not.

I was looking into this for the future as I don't want to be on bc forever. There is a thread in the pregnancy complications section that kind of scares me though....women still getting pregnant after a tubal. I would check it out.
