I am going back on Monday, august 7, and am starting to get really nervous about it. Baby will be with a relative during the day, but I don't care. I just want to be with him! I don't want to go back to work!!!!

I went back to work last week, my ds was only 6 weeks old. My job only allows for 6 weeks maternity leave. I cried all the way to work the first day. I was ready to put in my two weeks notice before I even got ther. You are very lucky to have a relative who is able to look after your lo, I had to put mine in daycare. I miss my little man so much during the day!

Regina,
THe first week was tough, but not as tough as I thought it would be. Knowing he was in my moms care made it easier, but not 100% ok. Obviously, I want to be the one with him all day long. Nonetheless, I survived my first week. It also doesn't help that I'm bored out of my mind of the same people and the same issues that circulate my office. If my job were more interesting, perhaps that also might help. BCHFLWR - I know what you mean about handing in your two weeks notice. On Thursday of this week, I wanted to do the same. My son is 3 months old - so if you ever thought that having MORE time at home before returning to work would make it better, let me be the one to tell you - it doesn't. Everyone tells me that "Working will make you a better mother" That somehow I'll be more appreciative of my time with my baby - while that might be true, I don't know how it can make me a "BETTER" mother. Ugh.... I need to start playing the lottery.

I am going back to work tomorrow and my son is 5 1/2 months old. I have been off for almost a year and I really don't want to go back but I miss my own paycheck. I am going to miss him.
