Anyone had an at home daycare right after delivering

I am wanting to try to get preg again. Just had a miscarriage and want to try again (after the proper waiting time?) My husband will be in his 4th year of med school and I really need to work but we both want to have kids now. He doesn't want to be old and having kids. He is 26 now and we want 3-4 kids. My major is in Early Childhood Education. Does anybody have any advice on at home child care and how that could work out. or other options.

I've never owned my own daycare, but when I was taking my daughter to daycare, the owner had a baby. If I remember correctly, she had helpers, (because of the whole ratio of children to staff requirements) and the helpers ran the daycare while she delivered, and just for a little while once she got home. I think you could make this work, just surround yourself with capable, positive people, and you should be fine!

i have a un-liscenced daycare. Iam aloud to have my two children plus 5 fulltime child, without my liscence. And without hiring anyone else. I enjoy it very much. you would have to call your township and ask the regulations in your area...with the research i did, i prefered staying on the limit marge, then investing into permits, hiring and alot more. Without lisence, i can still tax deduct everything that it cost me, inlcuding -food-cleaners-tp-rent-insurance-toys....in my area opening a liscence daycare wouldnt be very advantageous, cause iam in a small town. and people try to find the cheapest sitters. it all depends on your area. just make sure that you make the right desicion. And maybe you could just start your daycare unliscenced with a small ratio and see if you would get any business, and how it goes, i know i only felt comfterbale with this amount of children. Fortunatly for me i had the experience already i worked in a daycare center. iam expecting a third one, and ill continue doing this afterward. it alows me to make a little extra$$ and keep busy and my kids get to have alot of social interaction with other children. i have presently 4 kids, 2fulltime and 2partime, iam expecting to babysite anther 2 (onefullt and one part.) and thats it for me!!!!
