I was planning a waterbirth with a midwife at a birthing center. I began feeling ill one night and didn't feel the baby moving much. I dismissed it and went back to sleep. I woke up feeling ill still and didn't feel the baby moving like she normally did, so I called my midwife and she said to monitor it through the day and if her movements didn't pick up then we'd go listen to the heartbeat. I concentrated all day and was uncomfortable so I called my midwife and we listened to baby's heart and the rate was over 220 BPM. We drove to the hospital where I had an emergency c-section and the baby has since spiked twice up into the 270's and the second time, converted herself back to a normal rate. She is in the NICU still (she is 5 days old) and is scheduled to come home soon. Anyone else experiencing it or have any advice to offer? ↓
