Hi I just went in for my 5 week 3 day transvaginal ultrasound and have a couple of questions.
First of all a week ago when I had my scan through my fertility doctor, it clearly showed two sacs. Today I went to my first appointment with my ob and after several minutes of looking he could only find one sac.
I left and went straight to my fertility doctor, and after some extensive looking, he was able to find both sacs, but one was smaller than the other. One was also "rounder" as he put it.
My fertility doc claims that it is too early and that there could be a positive outcome. Anyone had this happen? Has anyone had any positive outcomes? ↓

BALI-Hey, girl. Its me, again. I actually had one sac, one smaller sac and an empty sac.The smaller sac evertually got bigger and both sacs were about the same. I was told that the empty sac would ofcourse dissolve. It is really early, right now. Just be patient. I understand you... I did think I was having triplets but the 3rd sac remained empty. After, having twins... I think 2 is enough. Lol! God wont give you more than you can handle. ↑

Hi BALIEZER - I just found your post. I am not in the same situation, as there is only one sac in my case, but I at least wanted to post and say that I am sorry that you are feeling stressed right now. I sure hope that more people are able to post and help you out with information. The waiting is the hardest part! ↑

How far behind is the other sac? If they had a hard time finding it this time it could just be empty and will dissolve on it's own but it sounds like you got one good healthy baby in there good luck and try not to stress it's not good for the baby that one could have been a blighted ovum. good luck!!!! ↑

If the sacs were measuring the same at the first u/s but one didn't grow much, then I could see where it would look bad. A lot of times, a sac is smaller because they eggs implanted at different times, but if they were close in measurement before, then that wouldn't be the case. I have no outcomes for you other than I have seen it go either way. I hope the best for you. ↑

Thanks everyone. I just need to keep a positive attitude. Hi Samehere, how have you been? Next Friday is the next ultrasound so we will see what happens? ↑

Baliezer- I'm fine here. I am just so happy to hear about your pregnancy. I am really hoping everything is fine. I have seen it where a small twin catches up and I have also seen two sacs the same time end up with one being a VTS out of the blue. So who knows! ↑

I am trying to be optomistic but I am really expecting the worst. In all my other pregnancy's (singletons), I had morning sickness so bad, I had to be hospitalized. This pregnancy I have been nauseous in the mornings from about week 3, but that's about it. I am thinking the other sac was absorbing, which would explain the reason for it not being so round. I guess I will just have to wait and see. ANYONE WITH POSITIVE STORIES, NOW IS THE TIME TO JOIN! ↑

On the positive side, I have had no bleeding as of yet. That is something I experianced when I lost the triplets. ↑

It's official. There is only one sac. I am devastated. I go back in next week to check on the other sac.
Good luck to everyone else. ↑
Baliezer - I am so sorry. VTS is a horrible thing to go through. I had one at 10 weeks but I found out the same day that I was having twins but one was gone. Early u/s I think have made motherhood a much more worrisome thing is some ways since most women would never know they were pregnant with twins since VTS usually has no bleeding or any other symtpom to make one think something was wrong. I hope that the rest of your pregnancy goes without a problem and soon you will be up to your neck in diapers and burp rags. ↑

So did you have a singleton and then twins? I just don't understand what is going on with my body. Somewhere it is still sleeping. ↑

I had a singleton first (my dd). Then I got pregnant with twins. I lost the first one around 10 or 11 weeks to VTS and the survivng twin I lost at 36 weeks to an umbilical cord accident. A few years, a blighted ovum and a chemical pregnancy later, I became pregnant with my twins that I have now. ↑
