I am 7 weeks and 5 days. I just have this feeling like there is more then one. I have been pregnant twice before and never felt this way. I dont feel sicker, just breasts are more tender, more hungry, and more weight gain. people say I should accept that this my third and I'm going to gain more...but because I have had 2 I just feel something is different. With both of my children I had heartburn late in the pregnancy, this time very early all day! Am I crazy? just hormone-o? I realize one child was spotted and not to say I'm not happy with one, just feel someone not seeing what I'm feeling! ↑
Shanda, Hey as of now I'm just like you i have that great feeling of two. My Fiance says IM crazy but he doesn't feel what I do and thats what makes it nice to have someone who feels the same way to talk to. I'm a little opposite this time I am SO sick, I've lost almost 4 lbs in 3 weeks, dont want to get off the couch. But me too I have two other kids and those pregnancys were so easy nothin like this. I have another ultrasound this week and I'm hoping to find another! I'd be happy with one but the more the MERRIER! LoL oh yea and I cry about twice a day for nothing, hormones are worst then ever! Plus the last few weeks i swear i can feel them moving a little have you had this? THanks talk to you soon ↑
SAME HERE!!! I can't believe how much the same we are! I have been very sick, moody, my breasts are really sore and I thought I could feel movement too! ( nothing like the first 2 pregnancies ether) and don't feel bad...my husband thinks I'm crazy too! I'm so happy someone out there is going through this too! maybe we aren't completely nuts! lol keep in touch, I'd really like to know what happens at your next u/s K? bye for now. And hang in there! ↑
Hey Shanda, Guys just dont understand do they!?!I I even made my fiance go on the twin website to view all the symptoms of having twins because I'm so sure there is! LoL I'll be happy with one of course because my two now are so precious but twins would be a whole nother experience.Do you have any planned ultrasounds!? Of course I'll keep you updated, and stay positive on how you feel because I've read so many posts now of similar stories to ours, that thought they were having twins and didnt find out til the middle of their pregnancies and some people gave me good advise. Only you know how you feel and if you think its twins consult your doctor with this because its better to know early so your taking EXTRA special care of yourself and getting the right treatments from you doctor. Hope that helps maybe give him a call if you dont have an appt. soon. let me know and stay positive ↑
Hi, I feel like everyone else. This is my fourth pg, 2nd live birth, hopefully. Had first u/s at 5 weeks, too early too see baby. then at 8 weeks saw 1 baby, 1 sac, 1 heartbeat. I can't help but feel that there is another one. I have never been sick like this before, have already gained 10 pounds and look like i'm 4 months pg. Had hcg level of 85000 at 7 weeks. I hope for twins. Glad to see there's still hope. ↑
By the way, i am 9 weeks now. Anyone with twins, what was your hcg at 7 weeks? I know they say not to base it on that but I can't help shake this feeling. ↑
hey, I know, men don't understand do they?! HA! I think my husband would be happy ether way, he just stresses about money... you know putting 4 in college! lol. I realize it sounds like alot so to save face I don't express my gut feeling to him anymore. Ive told my doctor my concerns of more then one, but since being on medicad, I don't get another ultra sound till am 20 weeks!!!! which sucks, cause your right, I want to make sure anything okay and that I am doing everything right. this pregnancy has toke so much out me, I'm afraid I'm not eating as much as I should since I feel sick all the time!!! what about you? when your next ultra sound? I would be happy with one as well, but I know what your saying... twins would be an exciting change! well, better go feeling sick again (go figure! lol) keep in touch. ↑
Hey Shanda, I had an ultrasound on Monday but Im still sure they're missing it! It was not at my doctors office so I have not said anything yet but I go back in 3 weeks. In my ultrasound as soon as she put the stick on my stomach there was my baby but she never moved it over at all she just stayed in that one spot on the right side never moving the left because she was just measuring the back of the babys neck. So I'm staying postive! I'm finally starting to feel a little better at 14 weeks, not as much sickness but still SO tired. You know i dont believe u/s cost so much so if you had the extra money you could always pay for it and ask for it be done. I know i dont have the extra money but it would be nice so im just gonna be waiting til my 20 weeks one! The first thing my fiance said when i called him after the u/s is see NO TWINS in there! It disappointed me but i got a good picture of the one little, it came out really good. Well take care hope you start to feel better. Crystal ↑
crystal- i too am am medicaid and I have had 2 ultrasounds already at 9w5dys. my midwife says theyonly allow two but if they need to they can get another one. they make up a reason, like large for date, small for date etc. your doctor should be bale to make up a letigitmate reason so he can put you at ease. good luck ↑
I have a feeling I am having twins. This is my 5th child and my symptoms are so much more amplified. Aslo my hcg levels were high, (6.3wks 84,392) Dr was gonna do an ultrasound yesterday but abruptly stopped and said, it is to early to see anything so we will just wait 3 weeks. For a quick glance though you could see a sack, and a blob with a beating heart. :-) But at what glance I got (monitor wasn't turned facing me, so I was looking at an angle) It looked "busy" in there. I thought i saw something else. I don't understand why the doc did like that. It was an internal and he put the wand in and said he couldn't see enough and to wait. I was like, "Is something wrong?" He said no, I could see the heart, but not enough of the baby to measure. well, just not bill for this u/s and do one in 3 more weeks. Wierd.
But my hcg levels are high and I feel soooo bad, and have this feeling I'm having twins.
A lot of you have said your hcg levels were high...but what were your #'s? ↑
Hi, I just had IVF in July and we transferred 2 embryos. I am now right at 6 weeks and went for u/s yesterday. There were two sacs, but we only saw one fetus, one hb. The other sac appeared empty, but it only measured at about 5 weeks. Does anyone know if it's possible for the 2nd to make it? I'm happy to be having one after all this time, but I'm really hoping to see a 2nd baby at next U/S on Sept. 1. Any similar experience shared will be greatly appreciated. ↑
I was 18wks when I recived my first ultrasound and the tech tould me there was just one baby this is my 3rd preg and I have one of each I usually gain 15 pds during the hole preg but I gained 30 pds know and I'm only 29 weeks I felt the baby move when I was about 8wks and I just went back to the doctor and they tould me they saw two heart beats but could only see one baby because I'm usually only 5'2 115pds and very small frame they belive that the babies are on top of each other I have had 3 doctors do my u/s in one day there for 3 hours and all 3 doctors saw two heart beats 1 on the right top and 1 one the left bottomm but 1 of the doctors seem to think it is the same baby just showing heart beats in two diffrent places Do you think that is possible? ↑
I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have been scheduled for my 4th u/s to see if I am having twins. My belly measured big and my dr couldn't feel the top of my uterus so she thought to be safe we would check with an u/s. Is that even possible?? Could they have missed twins for this long? I am confused and I am dying to find out! Please give me some feedback on this... ↑
Hello there. In 2001, I had 3 ultrasounds, and no one saw twins. It was only until I had my 19wks anatomy ultrasound and a high AFP test (where I thought something was wrong with my baby), where the lady said, "Did you know that you are having twins?" I was shocked!
It is very possible that someone doesn't see twins...it happened to me (after three ultrasounds) Can you believe it?
Anything is possible! My twins are now 4 yrs old (Gavin and Kaylin).
Im supposed to be 9wks pregnant since last missed period, after a few days spotting i've had U/S which detected 2 sacks and 2embryos measuring only 5wks,but i had a positive pregnancey test 4weeks ago.Help any answers????I've to go for a further scan in 2wks. ↑
I am 18 weeks pregnant and have felt alot of movement early on in my pregnancy (1st) and have been told it must have been wind. Was showm onlt 1 baby on 12 week scan but also there was a large mass on one side next to the baby, when I showed my midwife, she said she could not be sure if it was another baby or not. Could this be a twin?? ↑
i am finding myself with a similiar problem. I am 6 weeks and went today for a vaginal u/s. my doctor defenitely saw 2 sacs but could barely see 1 embryo. he says i am defenitely having at least one and wants to see me in 3 weeks to confirm the second. he says that the first is so small that it was tough to see and the second maybe just cant be seen yet. one twin is usually smaller than the other. if the second isnt there in 3 weeks then he believes it is the vanishing twin sydrome. he said without a doubt i had 2 but i may not have 2 now. any thoughts? ↑
i called my doctor this morning to see if he would do blood tests to record my hcg level to possibly indicate whether or not the second twin is still there. he said that it would not indicate that at this time. i would still have high hcg until the second sac completely absorb if that is the case. he still wants me to wait 2-3 weeks for the second ultrasound to verify the second twin. ↑
i had an ultra sound today i am 18wks and 6 days and when they gave me the picture it was a head and all spine, i did not see the body or any thing around the spine, is that normal??? ↑
I just wanted you to know that I absolutly believe that you can have fraternal twins that are up to 14 days apart. I see you posted in March, so this info may be way old for you. Congrats on your twins. ↑
My wife and I were in the dr.'s office at 12 weeks and we almost missed the second one because of the way it was laying. So, I would expect that until they get bigger, you could almost miss the second one at any time until about 15 weeks, depending on how they are sitting in the womb. Hop all goes well with your next visit. ↑
I got my period in August but missed it in September. The doctor assumes I am 5 weeks along but part of me thinks that I am much further. My belly was very bloated very early on and my breasts were growing weeks before my missed period. Can anyone have twins? Is it genetic? Does anyone know? I am curious. I do have twin cousins but the history is on the other side of the family....their mother's side. Curious in Missouri :) ↑
well this is it! i am going to the dr in the morning to confirm whether or not the second sac is still a twin. i am nervous. either way i will be happy. i fantasize about carrying "the twins" and am excited but having just one baby to take care of is alot easier. i have 2 other children. i think i am more in love with the idea of being pregnant with twins than actually raising twins. i think it may be because i have no idea how to really picture what it would be like with 2 babies. twice the feedings and up all nights. and how do you go to the grocery store with 2 infant carriers? how do you devote and enjoy the time you have with each baby ? i know every twin mom gets used to that so if it comes true i can get used to it too. but i think how i know how to deal with one and if that is what happens then i am ok with that. if anything i wish i hadnt gone to my ob so early, and had waited till at least now so that i didnt drive my self insane these last 2 weeks. but i should know one way once and for all in the morning. ↑
I am 34 and on my 2nd pregnancy. My Quad screen results indicated my AFP levels where high. Tomorrow I am getting the genetic ultrasound to investigate further. Anyone have any experience with this. I'm really nervous and anxios about this. It seems twins can cause this result. I read Amber's entry....how old were you Amber. I'm hoping it is twins and not a genetic problem. Any feedback would help. Thanks ladies. ↑
