Im going back next week & am so anxious to find out if I have a 2nd one hiding. Has this ever happened to anyone? PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK IF SO!!!! ?

| Answer: I was 7 weeks when I had my 1st U/S and they saw two sacks right away. Good luck with your U/S next week. :)- Miss = |
| Answer: My HCG levels were high too. I had a 5 week U/S showing 2 sacs, then 6w2d U/S showing two fetuses both with heartbeats. At my 8w2d U/S, they found a third baby! It is an identical twin (shares a placenta) so it was too close to see clearly apparently. YES!! It happens! = |
| Answer: wow, triplets, congrats katie. are they natural trips or assisted? = |
| Answer: Both kinda. We underwent IVF putting back 2 embryos, but came up with 3 because one split sometime after transfer. So two parts assisted, one part natural :-) = |
| Answer: I had an ultrasound done at 7 weeks exactly... it looked like one baby but after we have looked carefully we think there might be another one because they said there is something under the placenta of the one baby they deteted with a heartbeat. My ultrasound looks like a heart shaped uterus with a line across the bottom triangle of the bottom of the heart with something there that looks like a white peanut shape and then there is another one above it which they confirmed was a baby... they said there was a pocket of something under it... waiting for a doctor appointment at 10 weeks to investigate .... got 2 weeks to go....what are the chances if on baby was detected with a heartbeat but not the other one.. that we will have a successful pregnancy of one baby.... ? any thoughts would be appreciated..... = |
| Answer: I had an ultrasound at 6wks due to weird HCG levels and was told that there were two gestational sacs but only one had a fetal pole. I didn't think much of it, but at my first visit to the OB at 10wks, I told them about my 6wk ultrasound which prompted them to do another right then and there. They saw both sacs and each with a baby in it. Of course I cried :-) = |
| Answer: Here's a follow up to my original question....I went in for my 2nd u/s during week 6, & they found only one heartbeat, 1 sac. I was totally depressed, which I know is wrong. I should be happy that I have a healthy heartbeat. But my physician & NPs had me believing I had at least 2 babies. I had my heart set on twins & was let down. I still keep having this unrationale feeling that there might be some chance they still might find 2 but I know it's not going to happen. I'm completely hormonal & depressed, and am going to counseling next week. I know my attitude will change as time goes by. I'm almost 35 & really wanted to get a shot at having 2 kids at once. Oh well.... = |
| Answer: Not exactly the same scenario. However, I too had high HcG levels and I just went for my 6 week u/s and they saw only 1 gestational sac with clearly 1 fetal pole and yoke sac with a beating heart. But something else resembling another heart beat showed as well. Although it didn't appear to have it's own yoke sac. ??? Im not quite sure what this is indicative of. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? Could this be another healthy fetus without having it's own yoke sac?Im very nervous and anxious to know what exactly is going on. I am scheduled to go back in 1 week for a repeat u/s. = |
| Answer: I went in for several u/s after I found out I was pg. I am a fertility patient, so was QUITE excited to be pg for the 1st time. Dr. told me he couldn't find the baby...maybe ectopic. Had LOW hCG levels, was very scared. Dr. sent me to hospital to have laprioscopy, hospital did u/s and found baby right where it was supposed to be! Horray! Now I'm 7w2d. On 04 Jan, had another u/s and Dr. found heartbeat! Another Horray! :) Now, new problems though, baby looks like only 6 weeks, and Dr thinks I may have tumor...to me, it looks like maybe a second baby??? This did not show up on u/s 4 days prior...don't think fibroid could grow THAT quick??? It looks like it has it's own sac, but the inside of the sac is unclear, and I don't think Dr looked for heartbeat on that one. Having hard time understanding everything Dr tries to tell me. I'm living in a foreign country, as hubby is military, so communication is not the greatest. Have appt with American doc on 14th for 2nd opinion, so will update then. To my understanding, most women who have twins have HIGH hCG levels, but, again, fertility patient with high BP and smoker...almost non!!! :) Anyone else ever had this? Thanks ladies, and good luck to all of you!!! = |
| Answer: I have some problems at 6w the Doctor sent me home because the eco give an econegative image of a baby of 6w, it was too small. Al 10w they did another eco and really have 2 sacs/2 babies. I was really happy and was unexpected. Noting anormal in HcG level. Good luck and dont worry. :o) = |
| Answer: FOLLOW UP FROM ORIGINAL QUESTION: Unfortunately, my next u/s only showed one baby. I REALLY WANTED TWINS!! Currently I'm already 14 1/2 wks& I did just find out good news from the CVS test- we're having a healthy baby girl. = |
| Answer: I had my first ultrasound today I am 15 weeks and they found two sacs but only one baby. Is it possible there are two babies just could see the other one because it was behind the other? = |
| Answer: hi yes it happened with me. i did 1st ultra on 6weeks 4 days it shows one heart beat.i did it 3 days ago it shows i am having a twins.Im now week 11.send me mails to ng05@aub.edu.lb to share info. = |
| Answer: That happened to me yesterday morning...I found out I'm having ID twin girls (it was my 18 week sono) I had my first sono @ 6 weeks and since they are identical they share a sac so she said Baby B must have been hiding. The songographer was completely surprised-she said after 24 years of doing it she has never missed seeing a twin.....it definitely happens!!!! = |
| Answer: Congrats to all the mommies having twins!!!
I went in for u/s yesterday. Dr found 2 sacs but one heartbeat. He scheduled another u/s in 3 weeks. I CAN'T WAIT! LOL = |
| Answer: Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a similar question...
I have recently had an u/s at 5.5 weeks, ultrasonographer said there was a singleton live fetus and he measured the heartbeat at 146bpm.
This is my 4th pregnancy and when I got my results i looked at the U/S pics and DH and I could both see what looked like a 2nd fetus in the same black space (which I think is the sac but I don't know much about this stuff) it was identical to what the ultrasonographer pointed out as being the fetus but it was paler and harder to see...
What are the chances he got it wrong? could I be having twins? what else could this second "spot" be?
I really don't know much about what all this stuff means and i know absolutely nothing about twin pregnancy so any information/advice would be much appreciated :)
Thank-you,
Mandi. = |
| Answer: I was 6 wks 6 days and only saw one fetus, returned for second ultrasound at 8 wks 2 days and saw two heartbeats. It was identical twin ( shared placenta). = |
| Answer: I am 7w and had an unplanned U/S yesterday--examiner found the womb to be larger than 7w. U/S revealed two sacks, one empty and one fetal pole with heartbeat. It was hard for the examiner to get the U/S of the successful sack. Anyone else have something similar? I am wondering what my chances are that everythign will be ok. = |
| Answer: I had an ultasound at 9 wks showing one baby. Another at 14 weeks but the tech said the uterus was mostly behind the pelvis and she couldn't get any clear pics. Now I am 18 weeks and my HcG is sky high, uterus big for age and they say it may be twins. Could they miss it twice? = |
| Answer: In response to Shan.. I went for 3 scans. The first scan was at 8 weeks where there was only 1 heartbeat and I could clearly see only one fetus. At 12 weeks, exactly the same. Finally at 18 weeks, the scan picked up two boy babies. So finding out that I was expecting twins with only 4 months left of my pregnancy was quite a shock! HOWEVER, at 5 months of age, they are best thing that ever happened to my husband and I = |
| Answer: I'm 6 weeks and had 1st u/s where they said that I had 2 sacs but one is empty. My hcg has dropped slightly over the past 2 days, but doc said that it may drop before going up. I'm trying to find out if this has happened to anyone else. They saw the two sacs right away with me, though. = |
| Answer: I had my first ultrasound @ 6 wks. One baby. Started spotting on the weekend of week 7. Went back for ultrasound the next monday. TWINS!! 2 heartbeart!!! Great surprise! 1 is 7 days younger? = |
| Answer: I had an ultrasound at 8 w and it showed 2 sacs with 1 hearbeat. The dr said he belived the other sac to be a vanishing twin. I am now 14W and am showing much larger than I did with my first pregnancy and am extremely exhausted. After looking at the ultrasound again tonight I am wondering if it really could actually be twins. (especially after reading some of these other responses) One sac is definately smaller but there is something in it. My next ultrasound is at 18W. Guess I will find out then! = |
| Answer: I had a us on Monday and i'm 7w 3 days. they said they saw 2 fetal poles but only one heartbeat. I'm confused what are fetal poles and i did have spotting this past weekend is it possible for one not to make it and the other to be fine? = |
| Answer: Hello I had an US at 6w 3 days and they said there were two sacs with only one having a baby inside, and called it failed twins,is there really a chance there is another floating around hiding and it will pop up later? = |
| Answer: I went to the Dr at 16wks and since daddy is in Iraq I wanted to record the heart beat for him. The first heartbeat was found on the right middle of my belly and was 148 beats per min and when the Dr came in she found a faster and stronger heartbeat on the left middle side with 152 beats per min. The Dr says maybe it could be twins but for some strange reason my belly is so much bigger than most others at four months. I have an u/s sched for 20 weeks. They say the heart beats should be 10 beats a part for twins but when I listen to the recording I hear two different beats. Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I just way too excited about the possibility of twins????? = |
| Answer: Hi everyone i also checked with the dr. last saturday because i had bleeding i was 3 and a few days to 4th week. he said it does not show that you have twins but in the blood test it was very high so he said u might have twins. today i have an ultrasound. i will keep my figer crossed. = |
| Answer: happened to me! one baby at 6 week u/s then 2 at the 10 week u/s!!!!! = |
| Answer: hi everybody, CONGRATS to all future mothers, i hope all goes well, im in a lil problem of my own and wondering if theres others out there, im supposed to be 9 weeks according to the doctor but i think im about 6 or 7 because my pregnancy test didnt come out poisitive till a week and a half after my missed period, now i went for a sonogram last week and they saw a sack with no fetus in it. then they scheduled me for another one this week and saw 2 sacks but still no heartbeat or fetus. im scared and dont know what to expect they finally sent me for a blood test so im just waiting for the results, anybody in the same boat??? and god bless to all of you
= |
| Answer: i.m a soon to be nan my daughter has a doppler and is picking up 2 heartbeats at 15 weeks doesn't sound like an echo and not her own heartbeat she had a scan at 8 weeks only 1 baby then. Midwife just saids it could be twins wait till 20 week scan!! anyone tried to get additional scans in uk? = |
| Answer: I went to the dr on Wed. for my first U/S and they saw two sacs but only one had a fetal pole and what we thought was a heartbeat. The other looked empty. I only measured at 5 wks 6 days with one and 5 wks 5 days with the empty one. I go back for another U/S on May 9th. Could there be two and the other one just didn't show yet??? = |
| Answer: hi everybody, im writting back from a passed response on april 23, im so confused right now, im only 21and dont know to much about these things, the doctor called me and explained shes almost positive i have 2 belighted ovums, she couldnt see a fetus in either sack. My last sonogram was 2 weeks ago, also she checked my hcg levels 2 weeks ago and they were at 20,961. shes saying there good and now she doesnt know whats going on. she re-took blood and im waiting to find out the results and also have another sonogram for monday. im losing my mind could anyone please explain whats going on and if those hcg levels are good. Im supposed to be between 8-11 weeks we still dont know = |
| Answer: hi everybody i just got my blood work back and now it dropped 7 units, it was 20,961 now 20,954. the doctor is telling me now maybe only 1 twin survived, is anybody else in the same situation???????
= |
| Answer: I had my first u/s at 9 weeks and the tech only detected one fetus. Then at my 13 wk appt doppler couldn't pick up a heartbeat so we did a quickie u/s in the clinic just witht he NP to see the heartbeat. A very clear fetus popped up immediatley and she printed a pic for me to take home. I didn't think anything of it but EVERYONE sees a second fetus in the picture and it is driving me NUTS! Granted the NP wasn't looking for two, but surely it couldn't have been missed by both her and the tech. Someone has told me that what looks like the hand of the 2nd baby is probably just a cross section of cord...but it has 5 "fingers". It really is enough to make you grind your teeth. = |
| Answer: I had an us recently and for some reason above the babys head you can clearly see ribs and spine but the doctor has not told me that im having twins and im very confused = |
| Answer: I just found out we are having twins a few days ago. At the first u/s 6w4d we could only see 1, but when I went back at 10w6d there was obviously 2 there jumping around like acrobats. :) = |
| Answer: im 27 weeks pregnant and i had my first and last u/s at about 18 weeks and the technician saw only one baby, but i'm going crazy because everything in my heart is telling me that i'm having twins. i'm bigger now than i was at the ninth month of my last pregnancy. should i just listen to the doctors telling me that this is normal or should i get a second opinion? = |
| Answer: In response to Christina... I see you haven't posted in a couple of weeks and were having problems, I wish I would've seen your response sooner so I could've responded. I just had a d&c on April 1st, becasue I had two sacs - one of which was totally empty and the other had just a yolk sac and was starting to lose it's shape. My hcg levels were super high (90,000 when I was about 7 weeks) and then started to drop, but at first the doc thought it was just because one twin wasn't making it. The u/s doc and my ob both said after a second u/s that it didn't look like anything was going to be happening with them so we went ahead and removed them. I never bled or anything, so it was hard to let go. My ob was hesitant to do the surgery when he saw how unsure I was in the operating room. But I figured they know what they're looking at so we went ahead with it.
I hope everything is well with you.

| Answer: i was in the exact same boat. i went for first u/s at 5.5 weeks and it showed only one sac. i went back at 9.5 weeks and wouldn't ya know, there were two distinct babies! good luck! = |
| Answer: i have a stupid question- i just found out that i"m pregnant and made an appt. with dr. she doesn't want to see me until i am 12 weeks. does that seem too late to have my 1st appt???
= |
| Answer: I had a very early ultrasound (a bit before 6 wks) that showed just one sac. I specifically asked the sonographer if twins was a possibility (runs on my husband's side of family). She said, "I only see one here, unless something's hiding." And then she laughed. Never thought of it again. Spent the three months vomitting constantly and so sick I could barely stand it. Now, I'm better (17 wks) and for some reason can't get the twins thing out of my mind. I keep feeling the baby move on BOTH sides of my uterus simultaneously. So either my baby is an acrobat, or something else is going on. Second u/s in a few weeks, but isn't it torture not knowing these things for sure??? I wish we could open up our tum-tums and peek inside! = |
| Answer: I've noticed that many of you have many questions as to whether you are having twins or not, but mainly because I see that your scans are only every few months and therefore you have to wait and see if your "one sac" is actually 2. I was very lucky and had a scan every single month and therefore knew everything about what was happening inside me. If I was concerned half way through a month I would pop into the dr and he would do another scan just to make sure all was ok. I guess I was very lucky. It made me stress less, that's for sure = |
| Answer: To Tasha: no question is stupid when it comes to being pregnant! I don't think that twelve weeks is to long for a first appointment. = |
| Answer: I was told by everyone close to me that my larger than normal belly size and overexaggerated symptoms meant twins. When my dr measured my uterus 6 weeks ahead of schedule, she too thought of twins, and I had an us at 18 weeks. Only one sac, but I am still larger, and at 28 weeks appear to be full term (this is my 4th pregnancy, so I know how big I usually get) How do I get my dr to order another ultrasound without thinking I am crazy? I would love for there to be two babies since this is my last pregnancy. = |
| Answer: I just had my 5 week ultrasound done. They found two sacks but only one baby, the other sack was empty and they said its possible it was a multiple birth but one was miscarried already. I'm still waiting on the doctor to get back to me about what's really going on. I'm really excited to know if I am having twins.
= |
| Answer: I had an us today the doctor says I'm 6wks along, my hcg levels were off the charts, I look like I'm 5 months pregnant and they only detected one sac. Is it possible that there is more than one?? any similar stories?? = |
| Answer: i m in 8 weeks pg now with twins. during my 1st u/s at abt 6 weeks they only detacted 1 sac, 5 days later they saw 2 sac. good luck to u... = |
| Answer: Has anyone experienced an undetected twin in an early u/s at 6 weeks?(u/s due to high hcg level) if so how far along were you before the twin was detected? = |
| Answer: I have aquestion also. I just had an u/s and I was 7w 5 d pregnant. There was one sac and we saw the baby and heartbeat. My doc did the measurements then printed me out a oic. This pic however, looks like 2 babies. I saw what might be the second(head) when he was measuring the baby and I asked, but he said it looks to be a yolk sac. When he printed out the pic thpugh, it appears to have a body also, just lying in a differnet position.. He wants me to wait until my next appt to check again. I am so confused. This will be my sixth baby(maybe seventh, if it is twins)., and I really need to know as I am moving and need to make sure I buy a big enough house. I will email the pic to any experienced person who can help me, just let me know. Please help!!!! Thanks! = |
| Answer: Just had my 1st u/s at 6 wks 6 days. Saw two sacs but one is smaller. Does anyone think the smaller one could still be viable? = |
| Answer: I had my first ultrasound at 5 weeks and they saw just one. Then at 6 weeks they did another ultrasound and there were two little heartbeats! = |
| Answer: Hi djcoursen. When you did your first U/S at 5.5 weeks, was it a vaginal U/S or the normal one?I also have the same situaltion. My hcg level was too high and I got a vaginal U/S done and they could see just one sac. So I was wondering if a vaginal U/S can actually miss another sac.Anybody in the same situation as I am in? = |
| Answer: Hello there. In the past, I had a multiple pregnancy that went undetected until I was 19wks with an extremely high AFP reading. I had three ultrasounds in the beginning of my pregnancy, and only one sac was detected and only one heartbeat. I don't have twins in my family, and high HCG levels were there, but no one suspected twins. I was so surprised to learn I was carrying fraternal twins when I was 19 wks. I thought that my baby had a neorological problem, and was shocked and relieved to find out that I was having twins!
Anything can happen!
I now have healthy twins (boy and girl) who will be four yrs old on August 13.
Good luck to you!
Rosemarie = |
| Answer: It has! I am now 28 weeks pregnant with twins!! My first u/s only was one heart beat and one sac shown. Now... The u/s tech was kind of befuddled that there were 2 heart beats! = |
| Answer: Dont feel so bad. I had my u/s at 9 weeks and everything looked normal and looks as if there is only one baby and no indication that there is another one. I was hoping for twins too. Just the idea of it seemed so perfect. I go again next week and still hold some hope that maybe a second one will pop up some time that had no been detected or something but I know its not there. = |
| Answer: I have a ?! I went yesterday, and the OB found a sac, but it was empty. He rolled over to the right, and there was another sac, that took a little longer to see, but there was a baby in the 2nd one, with a heartbeat. I asked him what the 1st sac was, and he said it might have been my uterus, but his first response was........there's the sac! It looked identical to the 2nd sac. i'm 7 wks along, and also have a tilted uterus, which he said might cause us not to see that well....plus, his u/s machine was an older model. I go back when i'm 11 wks along. Will i be able to see more about the 1st sac? Does sometimes another baby won't show up until later? I'm really wondering. I've been more exhausted that goes way beyond being tired. I'm wondering if we'll see another baby in the 1st sac, with the next visit!! = |
| Answer: my twins (triplets actually but one died week 12) were detected by ultrasound at my first appt, at 7 weeks. My aunt, however, went right up to delivery with her identical girls before someone figured out there was another baby in there after all. Her girls are now 18 years old, but she did have one ultrasound that showed only one baby... can't remember how far along she was at that ultrasound. She was getting big, but because she is so short and tiny, they attributed her larger than normal belly size to her being small. Ha. Surprise! = |
| Answer: Hi I was reading some peoples response, and some had a ultrasound at like 5 weeks and only saw one baby. Then another at like 18-20 weeks and found another! But in between that time didn't they listen to the heartbeats at doctor visits? because I believe I am pregnant with twins but my 4 week u/s showed just one but i say otherwise. Now I'm 13 weeks and we've listened to the heartbeat w/out an u/s and still only one. And people tell me around this time they would be able to hear the second one on the doppler is that true? Or could they still be missing it? Any help would be great thanx = |
| Answer: I have the same feeling!, just had an ultrasound, was told only one... yet I feel more then one! dreams and instinct tell me more. I think there may be a baby hiding behind another that doctors dont see. Mothers I believe know more! = |
| Answer: Hi Shanda, Glad to know someone else feels the same way . I'd love to chat with you...How far along were you in your u/s and how far are you? I cant wait for my next one
= |
| Answer: I am 7 weeks and 5 days. I just have this feeling like there is more then one. I have been pregnant twice before and never felt this way. I dont feel sicker, just breasts are more tender, more hungry, and more weight gain. people say I should accept that this my third and I'm going to gain more...but because I have had 2 I just feel something is different. With both of my children I had heartburn late in the pregnancy, this time very early all day! Am I crazy? just hormone-o? I realize one child was spotted and not to say I'm not happy with one, just feel someone not seeing what I'm feeling! = |
| Answer: are you pregnant with twins crystal? and if so, how did you find out? = |
| Answer: Shanda, Hey as of now I'm just like you i have that great feeling of two. My Fiance says IM crazy but he doesn't feel what I do and thats what makes it nice to have someone who feels the same way to talk to. I'm a little opposite this time I am SO sick, I've lost almost 4 lbs in 3 weeks, dont want to get off the couch. But me too I have two other kids and those pregnancys were so easy nothin like this. I have another ultrasound this week and I'm hoping to find another! I'd be happy with one but the more the MERRIER! LoL oh yea and I cry about twice a day for nothing, hormones are worst then ever! Plus the last few weeks i swear i can feel them moving a little have you had this? THanks talk to you soon = |
| Answer: SAME HERE!!! I can't believe how much the same we are! I have been very sick, moody, my breasts are really sore and I thought I could feel movement too! ( nothing like the first 2 pregnancies ether) and don't feel bad...my husband thinks I'm crazy too! I'm so happy someone out there is going through this too! maybe we aren't completely nuts! lol keep in touch, I'd really like to know what happens at your next u/s K? bye for now. And hang in there! = |
| Answer: Hey Shanda, Guys just dont understand do they!?!I I even made my fiance go on the twin website to view all the symptoms of having twins because I'm so sure there is! LoL I'll be happy with one of course because my two now are so precious but twins would be a whole nother experience.Do you have any planned ultrasounds!? Of course I'll keep you updated, and stay positive on how you feel because I've read so many posts now of similar stories to ours, that thought they were having twins and didnt find out til the middle of their pregnancies and some people gave me good advise. Only you know how you feel and if you think its twins consult your doctor with this because its better to know early so your taking EXTRA special care of yourself and getting the right treatments from you doctor. Hope that helps maybe give him a call if you dont have an appt. soon. let me know and stay positive = |
| Answer: Hi, I feel like everyone else. This is my fourth pg, 2nd live birth, hopefully. Had first u/s at 5 weeks, too early too see baby. then at 8 weeks saw 1 baby, 1 sac, 1 heartbeat. I can't help but feel that there is another one. I have never been sick like this before, have already gained 10 pounds and look like i'm 4 months pg. Had hcg level of 85000 at 7 weeks. I hope for twins. Glad to see there's still hope. = |
| Answer: By the way, i am 9 weeks now. Anyone with twins, what was your hcg at 7 weeks? I know they say not to base it on that but I can't help shake this feeling. = |
| Answer: hey, I know, men don't understand do they?! HA! I think my husband would be happy ether way, he just stresses about money... you know putting 4 in college! lol. I realize it sounds like alot so to save face I don't express my gut feeling to him anymore. Ive told my doctor my concerns of more then one, but since being on medicad, I don't get another ultra sound till am 20 weeks!!!! which sucks, cause your right, I want to make sure anything okay and that I am doing everything right. this pregnancy has toke so much out me, I'm afraid I'm not eating as much as I should since I feel sick all the time!!! what about you? when your next ultra sound? I would be happy with one as well, but I know what your saying... twins would be an exciting change! well, better go feeling sick again (go figure! lol) keep in touch. = |
| Answer: Hey Shanda, I had an ultrasound on Monday but Im still sure they're missing it! It was not at my doctors office so I have not said anything yet but I go back in 3 weeks. In my ultrasound as soon as she put the stick on my stomach there was my baby but she never moved it over at all she just stayed in that one spot on the right side never moving the left because she was just measuring the back of the babys neck. So I'm staying postive! I'm finally starting to feel a little better at 14 weeks, not as much sickness but still SO tired. You know i dont believe u/s cost so much so if you had the extra money you could always pay for it and ask for it be done. I know i dont have the extra money but it would be nice so im just gonna be waiting til my 20 weeks one! The first thing my fiance said when i called him after the u/s is see NO TWINS in there! It disappointed me but i got a good picture of the one little, it came out really good. Well take care hope you start to feel better. Crystal = |
| Answer: crystal- i too am am medicaid and I have had 2 ultrasounds already at 9w5dys. my midwife says theyonly allow two but if they need to they can get another one. they make up a reason, like large for date, small for date etc. your doctor should be bale to make up a letigitmate reason so he can put you at ease. good luck = |
| Answer: I have a feeling I am having twins. This is my 5th child and my symptoms are so much more amplified. Aslo my hcg levels were high, (6.3wks 84,392) Dr was gonna do an ultrasound yesterday but abruptly stopped and said, it is to early to see anything so we will just wait 3 weeks. For a quick glance though you could see a sack, and a blob with a beating heart. :-) But at what glance I got (monitor wasn't turned facing me, so I was looking at an angle) It looked "busy" in there. I thought i saw something else. I don't understand why the doc did like that. It was an internal and he put the wand in and said he couldn't see enough and to wait. I was like, "Is something wrong?" He said no, I could see the heart, but not enough of the baby to measure. well, just not bill for this u/s and do one in 3 more weeks. Wierd.
But my hcg levels are high and I feel soooo bad, and have this feeling I'm having twins.
A lot of you have said your hcg levels were high...but what were your #'s? = |
| Answer: Hi, I just had IVF in July and we transferred 2 embryos. I am now right at 6 weeks and went for u/s yesterday. There were two sacs, but we only saw one fetus, one hb. The other sac appeared empty, but it only measured at about 5 weeks. Does anyone know if it's possible for the 2nd to make it? I'm happy to be having one after all this time, but I'm really hoping to see a 2nd baby at next U/S on Sept. 1. Any similar experience shared will be greatly appreciated. = |
| Answer: I was 18wks when I recived my first ultrasound and the tech tould me there was just one baby this is my 3rd preg and I have one of each I usually gain 15 pds during the hole preg but I gained 30 pds know and I'm only 29 weeks I felt the baby move when I was about 8wks and I just went back to the doctor and they tould me they saw two heart beats but could only see one baby because I'm usually only 5'2 115pds and very small frame they belive that the babies are on top of each other I have had 3 doctors do my u/s in one day there for 3 hours and all 3 doctors saw two heart beats 1 on the right top and 1 one the left bottomm but 1 of the doctors seem to think it is the same baby just showing heart beats in two diffrent places Do you think that is possible? = |
| Answer: I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have been scheduled for my 4th u/s to see if I am having twins. My belly measured big and my dr couldn't feel the top of my uterus so she thought to be safe we would check with an u/s. Is that even possible?? Could they have missed twins for this long? I am confused and I am dying to find out! Please give me some feedback on this... = |
| Answer: Could there be two sac's shown on a ultrasound and it is still not twins = |
| Answer: Hello there. In 2001, I had 3 ultrasounds, and no one saw twins. It was only until I had my 19wks anatomy ultrasound and a high AFP test (where I thought something was wrong with my baby), where the lady said, "Did you know that you are having twins?" I was shocked!
It is very possible that someone doesn't see twins...it happened to me (after three ultrasounds) Can you believe it?
Anything is possible! My twins are now 4 yrs old (Gavin and Kaylin).
Good luck to you! Let me know what happens!

| Answer: I am 18 weeks pregnant and have felt alot of movement early on in my pregnancy (1st) and have been told it must have been wind. Was showm onlt 1 baby on 12 week scan but also there was a large mass on one side next to the baby, when I showed my midwife, she said she could not be sure if it was another baby or not. Could this be a twin?? = |
| Answer: i am finding myself with a similiar problem. I am 6 weeks and went today for a vaginal u/s. my doctor defenitely saw 2 sacs but could barely see 1 embryo. he says i am defenitely having at least one and wants to see me in 3 weeks to confirm the second. he says that the first is so small that it was tough to see and the second maybe just cant be seen yet. one twin is usually smaller than the other. if the second isnt there in 3 weeks then he believes it is the vanishing twin sydrome. he said without a doubt i had 2 but i may not have 2 now. any thoughts? = |
| Answer: Yes, it happened to me. They found the 2nd sac at 9 wks. = |
| Answer: i called my doctor this morning to see if he would do blood tests to record my hcg level to possibly indicate whether or not the second twin is still there. he said that it would not indicate that at this time. i would still have high hcg until the second sac completely absorb if that is the case. he still wants me to wait 2-3 weeks for the second ultrasound to verify the second twin. = |
| Answer: i had an ultra sound today i am 18wks and 6 days and when they gave me the picture it was a head and all spine, i did not see the body or any thing around the spine, is that normal??? = |
| Answer: To Lisa -
I just wanted you to know that I absolutly believe that you can have fraternal twins that are up to 14 days apart. I see you posted in March, so this info may be way old for you. Congrats on your twins. = |
| Answer: i am 42 and found out i was pregnant went in for a u/s and found out not only was i pregnant but with twins = |
| Answer: My wife and I were in the dr.'s office at 12 weeks and we almost missed the second one because of the way it was laying. So, I would expect that until they get bigger, you could almost miss the second one at any time until about 15 weeks, depending on how they are sitting in the womb. Hop all goes well with your next visit. = |
| Answer: am getting anxious 10 more days to go. i cant decide which way i want the u/s to go. twins will be cool but hard. i already have 2 kids. = |
| Answer: I got my period in August but missed it in September. The doctor assumes I am 5 weeks along but part of me thinks that I am much further. My belly was very bloated very early on and my breasts were growing weeks before my missed period. Can anyone have twins? Is it genetic? Does anyone know? I am curious. I do have twin cousins but the history is on the other side of the family....their mother's side. Curious in Missouri :) = |
| Answer: well this is it! i am going to the dr in the morning to confirm whether or not the second sac is still a twin. i am nervous. either way i will be happy. i fantasize about carrying "the twins" and am excited but having just one baby to take care of is alot easier. i have 2 other children. i think i am more in love with the idea of being pregnant with twins than actually raising twins. i think it may be because i have no idea how to really picture what it would be like with 2 babies. twice the feedings and up all nights. and how do you go to the grocery store | | | | | |
