Hello All-My LO has just started to really crawl and we have cats. We have tried to block the litter off with the lowest baby gate we could find but they still do not want to jump it (they're really old). I was planning to cut an 'x' in a corner of the gate for them to squeeze through but my mom insists my son will be able to get through it, same with the accordian gate...which was my origional plan. Has anyone else had this issue and what have you found that does/does not work? Oh, and the same gate will be blocking the basement steps...the litter is in the basement, too smelly for upstairs! Thanks! ↓

hi angeev, do you have a door on your basement? If you have a door install a small pet door. It should only be big enough for your kitties and not your little one. They are not that hard to do and it will save your cats hips. Hope this helps ;-) ↑

We also have a crawling baby and cats. What we did is we mounted the gates up enough that the cats can go under but yet didn't give enough room for baby to crawl under. Also, on the laundry room door we installed a cat door and just took off the flap so that the cats can get through and again baby won't fit. We did the same thing in our old house for our two older children and it worked really well. ↑

FOUND THE PERFECT THING!! Thank you both for your wonderful suggestions. Unfortuanly neither would work since we rent (can't do anything permenant) and my car is, as the vet put it, 'morbidly obese.' I found this gate that opens like a door for people, but then has a pet doot in it. It was quite pricey but worth it (I hope). Thanks again for the suggestions! ↑
