I had a very difficult miscarriage at home on Thursday morning. The sonogram yesterday showed my uterus is empty, but I still have heavy bleeding and some cramps. Anyone else have this experience? How long did it last?

I had one week of heavy bleeding after the sac was discharged, but it got lighter as the days go by.

I am so glad to see that my bleeding for so ling is normal. My doctor told me it would last about as long as my normal periods lasted. Well, it lasted a week longer. I had a D&E Feb. 25th and really am not sure when I will ovulate again. I never had regular periods to begin with and am so disappointed that this pregnancy (my second) did not last. I do have a healthy 5 year old which keeps me positive knowing I can carry a baby. Good luck to everyone who had to experience this. Rememeber that God has his plan and that he has his reasons even though we may never fully understand. God Bless!

my bleeding lasted 7 days, not including the couple of days spotting before it started, and a couple days of spotting after.

I had a miscarriage four weeks ago and have had heavy bleeding ever since. My doctor told me that you could bleed up to six weeks. Has anyone experienced bleeding this long?

Dena, I had a miscarriage Jan 23. My bleeding lasted a few days after and stopped, then started again and I have been going for about 4 weeks. I'm getting a little impatient. The last time it went on this long was after my son was born 12 years ago.

I think if you are still belleding heavily 4 weeks after you m/c you may want to check with you doctor. You don't want to risk an infection.

Hi tabbie...If you are bleeding straight - it might just be that you also had your period. For me I had miscarried at home (using medicine) went back for a checkup, the ultrasound revealed I still had material - my doctor manually cleaned it out (at this point my bleeding had just about stopped...the Dr also noted that I was ovulating) after the cleaning I was bleeding heavily - and then it tappered off but not completely, then I started bleeding heavily (Dr said period began) lasted for ~ 12 days and now I've stopped bleeding....so it can be that you may have had your period ?

I had a terrible miscarriage at work. I didn't even know I was 8 weeks pregnant. There was heavy bleeding for a few days after the miscarriage, but I continued to bleed until I had a cycle (about a month later). My cycle was much heavier than normal and this frightened me. Has anyone experienced a heavy cycle? If so, did your cycles return to the normal flow soon?

look im just writing again to ask some advice. i'm trying to stay optimistic with this bleeding that it'll go away but i see no signs of it. Is 2 months a long time to keep on bleeding after a miscarriage.. What i also wanted to ask is that, i had a tablet process to discharge the tissue and fetus in my body. The table was inserted into my vagine. Was that a good way of getting rid of my miscarriage or should i have had it surgically removed? Please reply asap. Need help.

Beth sorry for your loss. I had a mc at 9 weeks but the baby died earlier. My bleeding lasted around 9-10 days. Doctors say it can vary though until your hormones straighten out again. If it is really heavy and you are soaking a pad in an hour I would call the doctor or go to ER.

Nemma- 2 months of bleeding seems very long. I think you need to see a doctor and make sure you do not get an infection. I took anti-biotics to prevent infection, and I was fine. My bleeding stopped after 7 days, and I got my period around the time I should have had I never gotten pregnant. The period itself was heavy and long lasting, which they say is common. But I think you should get checked out.

I found out 3 days ago that my 12 week fetus had no heartbeat and I was going to miscarry. I have only had very light brown spotting and no cramping. I was wondering if anyone else took a long time to miscarry. Which is better to get a D&C or do it naturally?

I had a miscarriage last Saturday evening. It was terrible. I had back pains and terrible cramping. I was laying there and I couldnt move and I was just crying in extreme pain. It has been a week and I am still heavily bleeding and sometimes its not clots but its dark almost black thicker blood comes out. I had a D & C last saturday after I found out it was a miscarriage that I was having. I was about 10 weeks pregnant. I am stillhaving stomach aches also.

I was told I had a miscarriage as my hcg level went down. I haven't had any bleeding or cramps. Is this normal or could I have a tubal pregnancy?

I had a miscarriage on the 10th of this month. This is my second miscarriage. Both experiences have been very different. If anyone is worried you should really see your Dr. I am no longer bleeding but have a light brown discharge. The Dr has recommended having a swob taken to ensure there is no infection. For all of you who are worried this may be a sensible option. Good Luck to everyone with your next pregnancy.x

Hi, ok this is going to be a little long, but i've searched for this everywhere and can't find a thing so when someone needs an answer to the same question i've been trying to find, they might have better luck. Well I had a miscarriage on may 7, 2005. I actually started bleeding on may 4, 2005. I went to the hospital 2 days later and the stupid doctor on duty said that everything would probably be fine, and i went to my doctor the following day and found out the baby didn't have a heartbeat. I was at 9 weeks and the baby was only at 7 weeks. I prefer to call it our baby and not just a fetus. Anyway back to my story. I was really hard for me, but sometimes I think the harder part is the bleeding I bled pretty heavy for about 3 weeks then it let up...Enough that all i have to wear is a panty liner. Then on June 15 I started to bleed heavy and passed some blood clots. I was very scared and talked to my doctor and she said it was just my normal period, but the thing is I am still bleeding as I speak (type). I am just so sick of it.Anyway the whole point was to let others know that are going through the same thing, that I feel for you and That sometimes we're not all so luck to only bleed for a week or so, but that some of us seem to bleed forever!! Thanks for listening anybody who has the same problem i would be interesed to know or just to talk. moonjodi@yahoo.com

I had a miscarriage a month ago, and I'm still bleeding right now, sometimes hard, sometimes not...is something wrong with that???

Name: Jodi M. | Date: Jun 24th, 2005 10:01 PM
My doctor said you would know if there was. ex. high fever, tender to the touch of the lower stomach....It sucks so bad, i've been bleeding for almost 2months now. I think emotionally I would feel much better if I wasn't still bleeding!! I can tell that I'm so ready to start trying again!!! I can't wait!

I started spotting five weeks ago and then moved into the bleeding about a week later. I have been off and on red to brown for about a month now, I thought I was done last week and then I started again. I am so tired of using liners and it is hard to move on when you have reminders every time you go to the bathroom. I hope this stops soon.
