I have a beautiful 7 1/2 month old (8 months on the 26th) daughter... and I have taken care of many girl infants; However at my doctor's appt. today we had an u/s that my doctor said was very very likely a boy. (I am 15 weeks and 3 days but baby was measuring in at 16 weeks) we're pretty sure we saw a stem on that apple. Anyway, I have only changed one boy diaper in my entire life, and babysat a boy baby once.. I have no idea how to handle boys! I am beyond excited if it is indeed a boy.. but I was wondering to you mother's with boy babies, what is it like? Harder? Easier? The same?

I only have boys i have a 10 year old and a just turned 5 month old today. I dont have girls to compare to i have always been told boys were easier both of my sons are very easy but that could be their personalities. Boys pee on you alot when you change them so you gotta make sure you cover quickly and when you bathe them if you circumcise make sure you pull down their little skin and clean it. If your talking hygeine wise. As for clothing well girls clothes are so much cuter than boys but we do find alot of cute outfits for him. His appetite is huge dont know if thats a boy thing. Dont know what else.

Hey Heavensismine. I have a 2 1/2 year old son and a 1yr old daughter. They are diffent and alike in alot of ways. Changing girl diapers is deffinately easier in the scence that you don't get sprayed but harder in the scence that there are sooo many nooks and cranies to clean..lol. She is a tough kid because her brother pics on her but she is also a drama queen. I love having one of each! I think siblings are going to have there differences and similarities no matter what sex they are! It's lots of fun...lol. Good luck and congrats!~

I'm wondering the same thing, lol! I have 3 daughters ages 7,4,and 10.5 mos, they are really girly girls too and I love it. DH and I want to try for one more and are really hoping we have a little boy. However, I'm a little apprehensive about having a boy, because, like you, I have never really been around newborn boys at all, and older ones seem really rambunctious(sp?) at times, lol.. It's kind of like when I was pregnant with my first dd, I was nervous because I had never even held a newborn baby before I had her, but I managed and it all turned out, now I'm a pro....or at least I like to think I am sometimes :P. I'm sure that's how it will be when you have your boy, maternal intsincts will kick in, :)

Ah yes the pee thing, my mother said with my brothers she always put an extra diaper over them just in case because both of them nailed her in the face. I am not sure about circumcision, it seems like it would make things easier though. Her father is, so why not our son be? Thank you ladies for your words of wisdom, Crystal I hope both of you get a dream baby if you should have another. I will admit the thought of having a son and giving my girl a brother is very exciting to me. I was kind of hoping for a boy, not that another girl wouldn't be awesome, but I want to experience a son too. I always had fun when I was growing up playing with my brothers. Boys were always so cool because they would play with any toy and weren't so scared of bugs. I loved worms as a child, and so I used to chase girls with them. I am not a tomboy by any means though, just figured boys were more laid back so they were pretty easy to get along with. This is going to be awesome!

also when you are changing his diaper, make sure to point it down, or else he'll leak and pee up (onto himself) instead of down (into the diaper)

KOGreer: Your post made me laugh, because when my son was born, it took me a while to figure out why his clothes got all wet every time he peed! HeavenisMine: FYI, we chose not to circumcise our son, after much research on the subject, even though his dad is. Whatever you decide, I don't think there's a right or wrong, just personal choice. You might want to read up on the subject, though, before deciding. If you google it, you'll get a whole slew of information.
