Breastfed baby won't eat baby food??!?!?

Please help! My son is almost 9 months old and he still does not want babyfood. He just wants his booby milk! Now, he gets excited about our food and he does eat a couple of bites of baby food when I try to feed him. BUT, I am talking like a couple of baby spoon bites of size1 food. After eating a little he tries to get out of his high chair and acts bored and then starts to whine. He is a happy baby and he is a BIG boy (he was 95percentile of weight at 6 month appointment), but he just wants breastmilk. Has anyone had this problem? Do you think everything is ok? Also, this past week he has been waking up 5-6 hours after I put him to bed and he is hungry. Now before this (almost since 2 weeks old) he has slept from 8 until 6-8. So, he used to be able to go without a middle of the night feeding, but now he needs it?? PLEASE HELP!!!

did you warm the food? Have you tried feeding him when he is 100% hungry? What foods are you trying? If it is rice cereal--which i am assuming since it is the starter one then what did you mix it with water or milk, formula? maybe he doesn't like one or the other. I think babies are actually supposed to only start off taking about a teaspoon or tablespoon of food at first.

I would offer him a few bites through out the day at least so he's getting used to tasting different things other than bm. Instead of three meals maybe do 6 snack-type meals. Maybe he's just not interested in food as hes learning to do things and wants to just play? My dd got like that when she got croup so maybe he's teething and don't care for the food at the moment. I'm sure things will work out, they sure can be stinkers can't they!
