All of the pregnancy calenders ask for the date of your first day of your last mentrual period. So they start caculating from that day. Could I have got pregnant right before my period started? And if so then how long would I have to wait to take a test? Thanks for your help ↓

Getting your period usually means you are not pregnant. Did you have unprotected sex since your last normal period? If so, it is best to wait to test until your next period is late. ↑

yes, it is absolutely possible. depending on when you ovulate, and it can change every month, you can get preggo at different times. the pregnancy calendars use the "average". Well, I'm not average because I conceived a few days before my period was due! ↑

i have a question not a answer. i was wondering if you could get pregnant 2 weeks before your period. ↑

Lou, for most women, their most first fertile time is 14 days after the first day of the last mentstrual period. That can differ by a couple of days. That mixed with the fact that sperm can live in a womans body for many days, you very well can conceive 2 weeks before your period is due and it is actually right around your most fertile time. ↑

I HAD SEX 3 DAYS BEFORE MY PERIOD CAN I GET PREGNANT MY PERIOD IS LATE BUT THE PREGNANCY TEST SAYS NEGATIVE COULD IT BE TO SOON FOR IT TO DETECT SINCE I HAS BEEN A MONTH BECAUSE I SEX JUST ONE WEEK AGO? ↑
to lou, that is not exactly correct....if you are on a 28 day cycle, your most fertile time CAN be 14 days after the first day of your last af....but if you are irregular that is not the case....the period of time from the first day of a woman's period and ovulation car vary greatly, it's the leutal phase(time from ovulation to menstruation) that doesn't vary as greatly....a woman usually always starts her period 10 to 16 days after ovulation. So if you have a 25 day cycle, you could ovulate anywhere from cd9 to cd 15.....if you have a 30 day cycle, you could ovulate anywhere from cd 14 to cd 20. If you have a 35 day cycle you could ovulate anywhere from cd19 to cd 25.....and this could vary from month to month, but it will usually be somewhere within that time frame...also, your body could go haywire one month and not ovulate til really late or ovulate really early...but then you should expect your period to either come really late(for late ovulation) or really early(for early ovulation) as that 10 to 16 day period doesn't change. I hope this makes sense! ↑
Yea speaking of this. Do they always caculate the due date from the 1st day of your period, or does it change any? Like when u have an ultrasound, can they change the date? And does that happen a lot? ↑

ray--sometimes they will change your due date after you have an ultrasound...my SIL had her due date changed 3 times, each getting earlier and earlier...she had ultrasounds every week because she was high risk from being extremely obese, so she was lucky enough to get to see her little one all the time....but anyway they kept thinking he was farther along and changing the due date. So it does happen. ↑
i have that same exact question but no one has answered it... ↑

TAKE IT FROM ME YOU CAN GET PREGNANT ANYTIME, THE WAY THE OVULATION GOES IS THAT YOU OVULATE TWO WEEKS BEFORE YOUR PERIOD STARTS, SO THAT CAN BE ANYTIME, I ACTUALLY OVULATED WHEN I WAS SUPPOSE TO START MY PERIOD AND GOT PREGNANT, NOW THAT DOESNT MEAN I STARTED MY PERIOD IT MEANS I OVULATED LATE WHICH MEANS IF I DIDNT HAVE SEX AND GET PREGNANT MY PERIOD WOULD HAVE BEEN TWO WEEKS LATE. OH BY THE WAY THAT WHOLE THING WITH YOU OVULATE IS 14 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF YOU PERIOD IS A CROCK OF SHIT UNLESS YOUR CYCLES ARE ALWAYS NORMAL AND EVERY 28 DAYS. MY LMP WAS MAY 31 THAT WOULD MAKE ME 15 WEEKS PREGNANT MEANING I OVULATED ON JUNE 14 WELL I AM ONLY 12 WEEKS PREGNANT SO THAT MEANS I DIDNT OVULATE UNTIL JUNE 30 WHICH IS WELL OVER 14 DAYS OF THE FIRST DAY OF MY LAST PERIOD. ↑
I would like to know if I can get pregnant 3 or 4 days before my cylce ↑

I had sex exactly a week before my period. I don't always start on the day i'm supposed to. Sometimes it is a few days before or a few days after. I want to know if i could have gotten pregnant since i am so close to starting my period. I am really scared and i don't know what to do. This guy was my best friend and he leaves for Iraq in six weeks. I want to tell him before he leaves if i am or not. ↑

Pregnancy is possible if you get spermed in the days leading up to and including ovulation. Ovulation is somewhat unpredictable. For a 28 day cycle it is usually 14 days after the start of the last period, plus or minus 2 days. Many women learn how to tell they are ovulating from ovulation cramps, stretchy cervical mucus, and cervical position (soft, high, open, wet). Ovulation occurs later for women with more than 28 day cycles. women with irregular cycles, and sometimes on account of stress, sickness, or medication. Once ovulation has occurred the next period comes pretty reliably 14 days later. For the last ten days sex is pretty safe. Use a condom anyway. If the only time you have sex all cycle is in those last ten days, and a period comes as and when normal, you can count yourself in the clear. ↑

I have a question. If I have my period on the 30th of every month, how possible is it that I got pregnant on the 22nd of the month. I am late but my test is negative ↑

Hi all! I m so much confused about such a huge difference in my LMP due date and the due date that I expect according to my actual conception date. My cycle currently had been 31 or 32 days since a year. I suspect having concieved on 30th day of the cycle that is just one or two days before my next periods since suddenly all my symtoms of periods got vanished. My nipple pain faded and little discomfort in vagina faded as well. I knew i have become pregnant and it was true. My periods didnt arrive and I tested positive for pregnancy. Now the problem is.. according to LMP my due date is 7 july.. but according to me it should be 22 july..( calculated on conception calender).. What should I do.. Can anybody please suggest me a solution. There is a very faint chance that I have been pregnant on other days.. Is it possible.. how can I verify.. Please help! I do not want to deliver before due date by C section if I am correct. ↑

Ok, conception *can* occur before your period, and you get your period like normal (it happened to me - the conception date was actually a week before my period, and my period was normal). In fact, it's a highly likely time for you to get pregnant as that's when your egg is making its trip through your fallopian tubes and down in to your uterus. Next is implantation, which is when the fertilized egg finally "nests" somewhere in your uterus - once it makes its nest *that* is when you start missing periods. There's usually only about two weeks during your cycle that you can not get pregnant, but like someone else pointed out here, it can happen any time, because that two week time frame can be at different points at different women's cycles. ↑

Gloria, if you are testing negative when ten days late, the chance of pregnancy is not high. Maybe you have skipped a cycle. Do you have any early signs to talk about? If you did get pregnant 8 days before expected AF, the conventional explanation would be that your ovulation was delayed. Good luck! ↑

Jainz, did your LMP start Oct 1? That would give a due date of July 7. Conception occurs 14 days after LMP, which is perhaps where the confusion is arising. Also your first trimester ultrasound gives a conception date accurate to within 3 days. If you are worried and have not had the ultrasound yet, now it the time. Good luck! ↑
