One last thing - i see a lot of Ovaluation testing talk on this site. My doctor gave me a shot to ensure ovulation at a specific time so that we knew when to try. did anyone else have this shot? it hurts and is in the bum. ↑
I am on my 3rd cycle of clomid. I start days 3-7 of 100mg. I am also on metformin which I cant take because it make me so sick. It was so hard when I started my period that I had decided this was my last try. Since I have read the stories I will try agian. The side effects are bad but it will be worth it in the in. I think the hot flashes are the worst. ↑

Hi ladies. I'm new to this thread but I participate in some others in this forum. I was diagnosed with dysfunctional luteal phase and PCOS which basically means I don't ovulate some months and others I ovulate so late that the egg doesn't have time to implant. I started 50mg clomid on Monday days 3-7. I am now on cd 5. The hot flashes are horrible and I have been feeling a slight discomfort in my lower abdomen. I also have been having insomnia. DOES ANYONE ELSE GET THIS? ↑
Those all are very common side effects! TTC 2008- If you are aking how long does it take to get pregnant on Clomid, it varies! Some woment get pregnant on the first try while other it takes months and doses of Clomid up to 150-200 mg. There is no way to know for sure how long it will take you until you get pregnant :) ↑
cf: yep, the trigger shot. i had that and once it starts you ovulating, you sure feel it lol. i did lol. i had a 32mm follicle which i had to endure so that was oodles of fun ↑
Hi I concieved my first child on clomid and IUI second round she'll be five in Sept. I lost a pregnancy in Jan after taking clomid for off and on 6mths. I am now on my second round days 3-7 100mg. I am on CD 24 I used OP this month and I did ovulate so I am praying this works. I had a bad time this month with swelling of my ovaries was very painful. Baby Dust to us ALL;) ↑

Hey ladies here is my update so far. I just finished my clomid on saturday (cd 3-7) yesterday I started taking the estrodoil I have to take 3 pill 2 times a day but now I am starting to feel dry (sorry tmi) should I start the robintussin now? I am to start bding starting tomorrow but I have already started that on cd 6 so we shall see what happens. I will keep you all updated. I am keeping each of you in my prayers. Krissy68 ↑
So far OPK's are negative- They just started to show clear lines, but not as dark as control line- so not sure what to make of it! Krissy- I take 2 tbsp twice a day following last dose of Clomid up to Ovulation day! Good Luck everyone! Baby Dust! ↑
Krissy- Yeah, anytime before ovulation is good! The earlier the better- CD 10 should be no problem- Just remember to stop once ovulation is detected. Well I am back to only one line on the OPK's. Even though the test line never got darker than the control line could I still have ovulated- could that have been the extent of my surge? Last month it looked the same- 3 days in a row of two clear lines - all others had only one line or VERY light test lines. (CD 16,17 and 18 had two distinc lines) Temp dropped to 97.2 yesterday (CD 18)and was back up at 97.4 today! CD 17 had the darkest test line out of the bunch. What can I make of this- anyone have any input? Thanx and Good Luck! ↑
Chel-C - Thanks for the advice on the robintussin. Now I have another question for you. I'm on cd 12 and I started using my opk test strip and I got 2 lines the test line isn't as dark as the control is this considered a faint positive and is it because I took clomid cd 3-7 today is the 5th day from my last pill. I am going to test again before 8pm and see if I get the same results I will let you know. I am so confused. I know I will be bding tonight. Krissy68 ↑
Krissy- I have heard mixed reviews on the OPK's. Some say that the test line has to be darker than the control line to be considered a positive, while others say that the test line can be lighter than the control line if it is normal for you (ex: if it is a monthly occurence for you and that the test lines are never darker than the control line). So I am having trouble determining this myself. Because LH can be detected in the urine throughout a cycle it is hard to say whether you are catching the beginning your ovulation surge or if it is just a small window of high concentration. If you normally get a deffinite positive on OPK's then I would say that for you a test line that is lighter than the control would NOT be considered a positive for you, however if you don't NORMALLY get a definite positive on OPK's then I would say that it is possible that you have caught your surge- whether it is enough to make you ovulate only your temperature chart will be able to tell you and even then the only way to know for sure that you ovulated successfully is when you get pregnant! :) I hate that it is such a guessing game! Temp was 97.9 this morning and it has been running between 97.3-97.5, also CM was sticky and white-- All signs are pointing to ovulation!!! Even Ferning test showed ferning on CD 18 and a little on CD 19 and none this morning!! Oh, and Krissy- I have read that on Clomid you normally ovulate 5-9 days after your last pill, so it very well could be your ovulation surge! However my last pill was on CD 7 which puts me at ovulating 12-13 days after last pill and last month 14 days after last pill! ↑
Chel-C - Hi and thanks for getting back to me. Okay I took another opk test before 8pm and it was a BFP no mistaken. According to FF it says I should ovulate between cd 12-14. I didn't bd last night so I know I will have to tonight. My temp on cd 12 was 97.85 and today is 97.93. I will be taking another opk today and see what I get and I will let you know. I guess taking the clomid/estrodoil have really messed my cycle up this time around. Also both of my ovaries was killing me yesterday/last night but today I only feel a slight pain mostly on the right. I will keep you posted. How are you doing? Krissy68 ↑
Hey ladies here is my latest update and I am so mad at myself anyway I tested and it is Negative so I think Imight have missed ovulation. I normally would test on cd 10 but I decided to count 5 days from the last clomid pill and test on cd 12. What do you think should I test a few more days or just stop? Help I am really confused. Krissy- It sounds like you are right on track. You said that you definitely got a positive OPK. Then you should ovulate within 1-3 days. If your temp is normally 97.8-97.9 then you should get a spike either today or tomorrow, this will tell you for sure that you have ovulated if you temperature remains high for at least 7 days in a row. Now if your temp usually runs (ex. 97.5) before ovulation and you are now getting temps that are 97.8-97.9 then you may have already ovulated. If you got a positive OPK within the last two days then I don't think that you have missed your chance! Oh, and I usually feel those same pains just before I ovulate also- like pressure pains around my ovaries! Good Luck and have a great weekend also!! ↑
Well Im currently on cd 7 and I have just finished my clomid but I didnt seem to have any side effects, is this normal? Does this mean its not going to work or maybe im not taking enough? as Im on 50mg cd 3-7. Maybe I just thought that if i got side effects then at least i would know it would be working.
Also what does the baby aspirin do? as I have read so many women using it? But what does it do and how much do you take? thanks ↑
I never had side effects on 50 mg but it did work for me as far as ovulation goes. I did move up to 150 mg the following month and did have side effects such as feeling sick and hot/sweaty. I wasn't sure that the 50 mg had worked until I compared temps, OPK's and CM charts for both months. Baby aspirin (81 mg aspirin) is used to help prevent blood clots that can prove fatal to a developing fetus. one 81 mg aspirin a day will thin the blood just enough to help prevent this!! ↑

Hi, i am going to take u/p nclomid in the hope that i have twins, i have read about it all, so please no ear bashing. i just wanted some advice, i came off the mini pill a couple of weeks ago and did not have a period 4 8 months, i had some spotting for about 5 days after being of the pill for 3 weeks on the 7 th june 2008. im just waiting for my cycle to go normal for another 2 months, before i went on the pill i had a 28 day cycle and was taking microgynon, but because i suffer from migraines the doc changed my pill. i really want to concieve twins and i got my clomid, generic version through the post yesterday, i got 50 mg and am planning to take it on days 3-7, what are my chances of concieving twins, and do i have to get a OPK to know when i will be ovualting or can i just use an ovuation chart, does clomid change your ovualtion days. and shall i take anything else. if any one is in this situation please write back to me. thank u. i would just like to say to everyone that all your stories are really touching and baby dust to u all. ↑
Want Twins- Clomid will affect your ovulation day. While taking clomid you normmaly ovulate 5-9 days after your last dose however I ovulate around 12-14 days after last dose, so it will be different for everyone. i would use OPK's to make the best of you doses. I'm sure you know that you aren't soppose to do it more than 6 months in a row or in a year! And it is not reccomended to go past 3 months in a row. If you are aren't ovulating normally then your chances of twins are the same as ours 10% (10 pregnancies out of 100 will be twins) . If you are ovulating already then your chances of twins will be higher than 10% but I am not sure how much higher! I am not exactly in your same situation however I would love to have twins, but my goal is one healthy baby! Me and DH have been TTC for over 2 years now. We never used contraception hoping that it would just happen. Then a little over 2 years ago we started timing ovulation. Then about a year ago I started looking into medications. So I am now on 2nd round of Clomid and praying for a miracle!!! Good Luck on Your Twins and keep us posted!!! ↑
