i had unprotected sex about 7-10 days before my period and when it came it was unusually light i took a prenancy test a few days after and it was negative could i be pregnant? and should I wait until this month's missed period to test again ↓

I don't think you are. The window where you had sex was too close to your period to be the time of ovulation, and HcG would show up in your urine by the time your period came. ↑

The female body needs to a minimum of 10 days in her luteal phase (the time between ovulation until her next period) in order for a fertilized egg to successfully implant. So even if you were to have ovulated on that 10th day before your period came (which is unlikely depending on how long your cycles are and your hormone fluctuations, if you're regular or irregular etc) than it is highly unlikely for you to be pregnant. If your period was red, had at least light flow and any clots at all it should be considered a normal period. If you are not convinced you are not pregnant than I would try testing again IF your next period does not arrive. GL! ↑
