my d &c was a really simple procedure. i went to the surgical prep area and waited until the anasthesiologist got there and they all asked me a bunch of questions...then the anasthesiologist gave me a shot of something to "calm me"...i was immediately out of it and felt actually kind of good from it, they pushed me into the room and i was hooked up to the IV for the anasthesia said to count and i started to and im pretty sure i only got to one before i was out cold, next thing i remember i woke up in the recovery room and was still a little loopy and asked "theyre already done?" and that was it...it took me a little while to fully wake up and when i did i dont remember any major pain, i did have some pretty bad cramps for about a week afterwards but just like bad menstrual cramps. i was told the whole thing only took 15 minutes. they gave me vicodins for the pain and i took a couple days off of work just to recovery fully physically and emotionally. i actually kind of felt better after it emotionally just because it was like closure. you will be fine. i was really super nervous before mine but the procedure was pretty simple.
