I have been breastfeeding my son exclusively since he was born. Problem is that in the morning up until the afternoon I have enough milk to satisfy him, but at night I do not make enough and he gets frustrated and fussy at the breast. This past week I have had to pump in the morning and I use that milk to feed him before bed time so he is satisfied and will go to sleep. Otherwise he will get fussy and fussier on the breast because I cant produce enough. I know I am constantly producing and there is always milk, but it seems like its not producing fast enough to make him get full. Anyone have this issue and what you think I should do about this? I hope I make sense. I am a new young mom and learning! ↓
Is he feeding at night? if not, are you pumping during the night? Definetly drain your breasts in the morning, that way they realize that they have to produce faster to keep up. Try pumping an extra session between a night feeding and the morning feeding. ↑
yes he generally feeds twice at night, I pump a couple times a day most days after he feeds. I will try pumping after the last night feeding and see if that helps! Last night during one of the feedings i felt like i didnt have enough, he was fussy at the breast, it was the first time hes done that at one of the late night feedings, its usually only between 6-12 he does that....I would like to pump every 2 hours, but I dont want to not have enough milk for when my son gets hungry. Hes on no set schedule and feeds on demand. ↑
