Everted, Friable (Fragile) cervics????
Has anyone heard of this. I way the dr. explained it to me was it was like your cervics is inside out. He said it happens to women after pregnancy. should I be concerned? Cause I'm concerned! I'm about 14wks pregnant and I'm not sure what to think and I can't find anything on the internet about it. ↓
Fall, when I was pregnant with my second baby (the one I had in Dec. 07 - perfectly healthy) I was diagnosed with a friable cervix. My OB never said anything about it being like your cervix is inside out, but she did say it means it's prone to bleeding. Apparently the surface is very rough, like hamburger meat, or you can have pronounced blood vessles at the surface that are easily bumped and bleed. The research I did on line basically said the same thing. I never ran across anything that said it was a danger to the baby, just one more thing to make you worry about because you can have spotting a lot during the pregnancy. And then you're constantly getting monitored and checked to make sure the spotting isn't something more serious. I would have spotting (in all ranges of color from brown to bright red) almost every time I had sex and even after a couple difficult BM's (sorry TMI). I went full term, even with a history of pre-term birth and major health problems. Since giving birth 10 months ago, I haven't had any spotting or cervical problems. Hope this helps! Good luck!! ↑
