hey - i talked to the nurse and I can wait if I want - I just have to tell them tomorrow. :) She said I have to come in for the non-stress test if I don't do it tomorrow - and that I will be induced next week either way and my doctor is gone all week so she won't be able to deliver. ugh! pressure!! :) I'm feeling better about it - she said that since I haven't had any bleeding after the sweep that it's a pretty big sign that I'm thinned out and ready to pop. So we'll see - we'll go walk around a whole bunch tonight and see if we can't get things rolling on their own. :) I know I'm crazy but I've always had these stupid ideas of my water breaking in the middle of the night and rushing off to the hospital. haha..anyways, I think I'm gonna go tomorrow but I will keep you posted!!

You have to be 100% confident in your decision, whatever you chose. Good luck!!

Hey, I tried no nap today to see if it solves the bedtime problem of her getting up 5 or more times before she gives up and goes to sleep. I put her down about 20 minutes ago and I haven't seen her since, so I think maybe it worked!! I kindof sucks though because I love having that break in the middle of the day to rest, and no nap is making the afternoon really hard. She started whinning around 4:30 and all I could do to stop the noise was turn on the Care Bear movie. By 6pm I was in tears. She wasn't really being awful, just a bit uncooperative. We both know having a toddler and being big pregnant isn't easy anyway. I called my mom and was crying to her on the phone. Maddy saw me, came over, patted me on the knee and said, "don't worry mama". It was a rough day for me. Anyway, are you going tomorrow?? How was your evening? Is your mom helping you out a lot right now?

Name: fefer1 | Date: Jun 13th, 2008 10:50 AM
hey there - no induction yet. They called to let me know they are too busy right now and to check back at 1pm. It probably won't happen today. Last night we went for a long walk that about killed me - and I can hardly move now. ugh...so no nap? You're brave to try that one! I'd rather rachel napped and was a bear at bed time! :) What time does maddy nap and what time do you try to get her to bed at? Rachel has been difficult at bed time lately too but we have to put her down by 8pm and leave her. She screams at us for a while but with her books and toys calms down. Usually she calms down as soon as we close the door when she knows we won't be coming back. I hate hearing her cry and scream, but she HAS to go to bed!! It's so hard sometimes. Hang in there!!! Sometimes kids get so overtired they won't go to bed at night - maybe she needs to go to sleep earlier???

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 13th, 2008 11:42 AM
Well, if you can't get in today, then maybe tomorrow. Hang in there, and maybe you will get your wish and things will get going on their own? Actually the no nap thing has worked out really well...oh, there she is, Maddy just got up just now. She was getting up about 8am, taking a nap from about 2-4:30 and then to bed by 8:30 or 9pm. I really think that with the nap in there she just wasn't tired enough at bedtime, which resulted in her getting up repeatedly. No nap kindof sucks, but this is great and I will take it over the bedtime fiasco anyday. Let me know what happens when you check in at 1pm. Talk to you later.

hey there - I got bumped today for sure. Guess there are 4 more important people to induce. :) They have me on the list for tomorrow but I will probably just wait it out since my dr won't be delivering anyways. It's today or not at all - she's gone all next week. Bummer. I stayed on the list in case I change my mind. :) Have you tried putting maddy down for a nap earlier than 2?? I've read that sometimes earlier nap times are better -they go to bed earlier at night. I know that if I put Rachel down too much after 1pm it's difficult to get her to nap at all and even harder to get to bed at night. That could be the problem. I read a book on sleep patterns for kids that was pretty helpful for us - and has worked out great. Rachel has been a pretty good sleeper since I got her on her little routine. OF course, lately we've been a bit off schedule with all the stuff going on. :) Poor baby - she is either sick from teething or sick...she doesn't want to eat much at all, has a runny nose, a temp of 98.8 - don't know if that's high??? She is crabby too. Ugh - can't tell if I'm having contractions or if it's the baby moving - everything hurts. :)

That's too bad you got bumped, maybe he will come on his own in the next day or two- you can only hope. As far as Maddy is concerned. Napping earlier doesn't work anymore. She won't go down at all. Some time between ages 2 and 3, alot of kids just grow out of naps altogether. I was hoping Maddy wasn't one of those kids, but it seems she is. My mom told me my brother and I were done with them at about 2 and a half, which is about where she is. It will be fine, I can deal. I am just so happy that bedtime was a success- YAY! You have no idea how awful it has been around here at bedtime. She was keeping Jimmy up anywhere from and hour to an hour and half past when he should have been asleep. The poor guy has to be up by 4am, which means he has to be in bed by 8:30pm. I really feel sorry for him sometimes. Anyway, it is hard when your kid is sick, and for you this is bad timing. Maybe she will get over it quickly and be better by the time your little guy comes. Hey, I really don't think you are going to make it all the way through next week. You are going to end up in L&D in the next couple days and your going to be at 6cm by the time that happens- lucky girl. Your labor is going to be fast. Let me know how you are doing.

hey there - I was having a back ache all morning and then about an hour ago I lost my mucus plug I think. It was a ton of nasty goo that was tinted pinkish. woohoo!! I think the party is getting started!!! I'll keep you posted. We're supposed to go to a birthday part at 5:30, dropping Rachel off at my sisters since she's sick - and just in case I DO go into labor. :) Keep your fingers crossed for me! I want my dr to be able to deliver so I hope he hurries up!

That is great news! I'll keep checking to see if you post.

I'm wondering if you made it through the party or not?????

I am so crossing my fingers for you fefer!!

Name: fefer1 | Date: Jun 14th, 2008 10:17 AM
nope - no friday the 13th baby! All my back pain and cramping are GONE today. I can't believe it!!!!! This is driving me insane - I'm starting to think I'm crazy now. The hospital called at 6am - they weren't supposed to call till at least 7 - woke me up from a DEEP sleep that I never get- and wanted me to come in NOW. I told the lady what was going on and that I think things are going to happen on their own but I have to call back at 8 and talk to the head nurse and maybe go in anyways. I think I'm gonna go for a walk right now and think about what I want to do. It sucks that it keeps starting and stopping and teasing me - kind of weird. At this point you'd think it would just get going already!!!

Name: fefer1 | Date: Jun 14th, 2008 1:03 PM
hey -I'm heading to the hospital shortly. they want to check me out first before the dr will decide if I can wait it out or be induced. I'm sure I'll be induced.

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 14th, 2008 4:49 PM
I would be surprised if they let you go. How exciting! If I don't hear from you I will call the hospital this evening, but not too late.

hi again - I've been getting contractions for the last hour now. Starting to time them but they last about 45 seconds at a time. Rachel is in bed now so I can be more focused. I might take a bath too!

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 15th, 2008 12:05 AM
That is great. Maybe you will have a baby here really soon. Hey, did they check you while you were at the hospital earlier? Are you still at 5cm or are you 6cm by now?

Name: HeatherIsHopeful | Date: Jun 15th, 2008 8:48 AM

How are you doing? I was going to call, but I am sure you have your hands full. I'm alright, just tired of being pregnant and my sciatica is bothering me. I wore Maddy out today, and agian, no trouble putting her to bed. The last few nights I have had to take Tylenol PM to get to sleep and stay asleep. Anyway, when you get a chance I would love to hear how little Levi is doing.

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 17th, 2008 11:55 AM
It is almost 9am, and Maddy is still sleeping. I forgot to ask Jimmy to bring me a banana before he left for work. Now I am stuck upstairs because of how loud the gate is, with NOTHING TO EAT! Hopefully she will be up in the next 30 minutes or so, or I will have to wake her myself. How are you holding up?

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 17th, 2008 8:31 PM
I saw the photos. What a chunky monkey! He is so cute, I love those cheeks. You sure did have a lot of visitors. I never had that many people in the room at one time when I had Maddy. I can imagine how happy you are. How is Rachel adjusting? Is she showing any signs of jealousy? That is my biggest fear when we bring Nathan home. How are you recovering?

Name: fefer1 | Date: Jun 17th, 2008 9:29 PM
hey there - I'm doing ok. My butt still hurts but it's getting a lot better. :) Percoset is great stuff! We took Levi to his first appointment today and he is perfect! :) The doctor said we didn't need to come back for our 2 week since he's so good but I have to have some other test done either at the pediatrician's or at the hospital - and the pedi is closer. He's a healthy little bugger for sure! He's down to 9 pounds 1 ounce but the doctor says that's normal for such big babies to lose weight like that. Other than that - he sleeps a lot, doesn't cry much and has been really good. Except for last night. I was ready for bed at 10pm - went to put him down and he decided to wake up and eat - and eat and eat. Every time I put him down he wanted to eat some more or be burped. I started getting crazy cuz I was sooo tired!!! Tim got a pacifier out and that worked for about 5 minutes - just enough time for us to fall asleep. Finally Tim took over since I was turning into a monster - haha- and I fell asleep for about 45 minutes - then he was up again. I ended up getting a bottle and some formula and he had about 5-6 gulps and burped and was out for the night. I woke him up at 8 to feed him. :) I think he was finally hungry and I don't have enough in me to satisfy him yet - and he was ripping my boobs to shreds sucking so much in such a short period of time! My milk is starting to come in today though so he should be a happy camper tonight. We'll see. Rachel is pretty uninterested at the moment - he's just some new thing in the house. His car seat buckles are more interesting to her. We went to McDonalds today after Levi's appointment and let her play for a while - and she actually fell asleep on the way there at 10:30! She was soo wiped out from this weekend and being sick - still. Poor baby. Then last night when we got home she ran to see the balloons, slipped, fell on her chin really hard. Today she has a horrible bruise on the underside of her chin. I thought she had just eaten something purple but nope, she's bruised. Tim has pretty much taken care of her this afternoon too. I napped when she did and then Tim got her up and took her outside for a bit and then they went for a run. Just got back too so I need to go so we can eat dinner! I"ll catch up with you again later!!! Hope you can get some sleep and take it easy, the big day will be here soon!!!! Don't wear yourself out!

I am so glad to hear that you and the baby are doing so well. When I saw the photos of you and Levi, it made me realize that I am going to have a baby too in the next few weeks. It just made it really real. I know I'm pregnant, but right now it is just this squirmy blob in my tummy. Today was good, but Jimmy is irritating the crap out of me. He is whinning about being tired and not getting enough sleep. He told me that he wished he could come home one day a week and do nothing but take care of himself and go to bed. That would not work. Maddy wants his attention and I am sorry, but at the end of the day I need a little help. I get so sore by the time evening comes and some days I just can't do anymore. I was pretty fine all day today, then this evening when I took Maddy from him to get her in her jammies, I started getting this bad crampy feeling way down low and it wasn't letting up. I was having a really hard time just standing to get her dressed for bed. By this time it was about 8:20pm and Maddy still needed her banana and her juice while she watched Backyardigans. I brought her in to our room to watch and Jimmy wanted me to just put her to bed without any of it, because he didn't want the cartoon on. I told him no. What the hell does he care anyway, he was just playing with his stupid phone anyway?! Maddy had her banana in her hand and a few times it touched his arm and he would flinch like it was just the worst thing ever. After the cartoon and her snack I told him that I would get her teeth brushed, and could he please do the easy part and read her a story? He had the nerve to say to me that he had already done "all of it", whatever that means. I told him that all he had done so far was throw her in the shower with him. I got her out dried her off and got her jammies on- remind me again of the definition of "all of it"! He got really pissy and and says, "I guess". I told him that I really don't think he understands what it feels like to be 35 weeks pregnant, and he said that he does because he hears about it all the time! I told him that I do the best I can and that if I could do more I would. I know he doesn't get the rest he needs, and he is stressed at work, but come on. I am huge pregnant at home from the time I get up until about 7:30 at night all alone with a toddler who wants to go, go, go all the time. Not to mention I am doing all the housework, and constantly bending to pick up toys and whatever else is on the floor. I made a suggestion to him last week, that he designate one day a week to take the 7:30am train instead of the 5:15am to give himself some extra sleep and he always has a reason why that won't work. What else am I supposed to do? He really upset me and I don't think he realizes how much. I think I am going to send him an e-mail to read once he gets to work. I am sorry to vent, I couldn't help it.

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 18th, 2008 1:45 PM
I got a really appologetic e-mail from him this morning, and he feels awful about his behavior last night. All better now. How's the baby??

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 19th, 2008 3:55 PM
Hey, I know you are busy. Just wanted to check in. I don't want to call you at home and bother you right now. Anyway, Jimmy is going to work his schedule so he can work from home part time until the baby is born. He is gone anywhere from 14-16 hours a day and that is just too long for me right now. I am so glad he said he would and could do that for me. I hope you and Levi are doing well. If I don't hear from you soon I will try calling on sunday to see how you are holding up. Hopefully you are getting some rest and Rachel is behaving and not sick anymore.

hi there - we've just been so busy running round! Dr appointments and follow ups for me. ugh..and playing with Rachel as much as possible. My computer was acting up too - something with the battery. I think we have it fixed now. I've also been sleeping a lot when I have the chance - recovery mode!!! Got to do it when Tim is around. :) Sorry about Jimmy and all that. be right back - Levi is demanding my attention for the moment. :)

Name: fefer1 | Date: Jun 20th, 2008 12:00 AM
ok I'm back. So anyways, sorry again about your family woes. :) Guys just don't get how tired we get being pregnant and forget that being a stay at home mom is a 24 hour job - not an 8-5 job or whatever it is he works. Glad you guys have worked things out. Just wait till after the baby gets here - then you guys will really have something to argue about! We've had our moments late at night. :) haha...we are ok though, Tim knows I am a major grouch when I don't get sleep. Lucky for us, Levi is a LOT better than Rachel was by far! I know things can change but I really think he's going to be a bit easier. I don't know how I'm going to manage once Tim goes back to work-it's hard enough with him around trying to manage Rachel AND a baby. ugh...anyways, I need to catch up some emails and stuff. I'll be checking back later. Hang in there - you're in the home stretch!!!

Name: mjvdec01 | Date: Jun 20th, 2008 2:03 AM
Glad to hear from you. I know it is hard having a new baby at home, regardless of their temprement. Maddy was an angel from the time she was born, and I was still tearing my hair out at times. As of monday, Jimmy will have a new schedule that will make things better for me. God it feels like these last 5 weeks are going to last forever. Next thursday I have my first internal check and I am hoping for some progress. My baby shower is this saturday, but I have to drive to Everett to my mom's. Anyway, it sounds like you are doing well and Levi isn't giving you too hard of a time. I'll talk to you later.

Name: raiken | Date: Jun 20th, 2008 11:54 AM
NOt to butt in but I totally hear ya! My hubby gets up at 3 am to deliver papers and then has a fulltime job after so all I hear is whinning. I do agree he is tired BUT so am I! I take care of a newborn all night (he doesn't get up at all! ) And a 3 yeard old and a 5 year old I can't wait to see how well he does when I go back to work. I work second shift so he gets to deal with all 3 all by himself !!
