I switched my son to Enfamil AR because he was projectile spitting up a lot and it seems to have helped. The only problem is he's very gassy and fussy which Enfamil also makes a formula for called Gentlease. He's such a sweetie and so much fun but he's always really crabby when he's awake and has a motor butt lol. Should I leave him on what he's on or give the other formula a shot? I wish they made one that was for spitting up AND gas. ↓

I would switch it. I used Enfalac when my oldest was first born and I thought for the longest time she was just colicky. Back then they had just come out with the Good Start formulas, this was about 8 years ago, and it said it was easier to digest with the "comfort proteins" and all that. I switched her over at about 3 months old just to see if it would make a difference and immediately she was like a different baby! I've used this formula with my 2 younger ones as well, and they never had the same gassy issues my oldest had at first, so I know it was mostly the formula causing the colic. You've got nothing to lose by switching him. He's already gassy and fussy so you'll know right away if the formula is working better for him or not. ↑

My only concern with switching him is that he'll start spitting up all the formula again. This probably sounds dumb but can you mix two formulas together? Like do one scoop of one and one scoop the other. ↑

You could definetly mix the formulas. I know some moms who want to transition their lo's to a new formula do 1/4 new to 3/4 old formula and then keeping adding in new formula 1/2 new 1/2 old stuff and taking out old formula eventually 1/4 old and 3/4 new. This may help your ds to not get so fussy and crabby while switching him to something better. Good luck! ↑

There is a formula for spit up and gas...it's Similac Sensitive RS, it's lactose free because lactose causes gas and fussiness in a lot of young babies. I use Similac Sensitive with my daughter and love it! I have used the RS one also. The RS is rice starch and it is for the spitting up. ↑

I was just going to sugsest what Margie did. Similac has one for both, just look for the RS. Another suggestion would be to try the Gentlease and add a little cereal in it. All the other has is rice starch and that is what rice cereal is. But, I would ask your pedi first. I don't recommend putting cereal in bottles unless it is truely necessary. ↑

I use the Similac Sensitive RS, and it seems to work great. Another thing you can do is add a dose of mylicon gas drops to each bottle, whatever formula you use. I do it, and it really helps. - April ↑
