Hi everyone, I have not been trying to get pregnant but I think I am!! I had a period in May although it was not like my normal period, then another in June which was 1 week late and lasted one day compared to my normal week long flood!! Not even thinking of pregnancy my friend asked me if I should do a test, which I did and it came up negative..... A few days later I noticed colostrum in both nipples (this happened with all my 3 pregnancies) so panicking I went to the Dr, Blood test came back negative, but by then I was actually getting flutters and my stomach is quite prominent..... I went for an ultrasound and it was a very low ultrasound below the belly button and she was looking for a newly formed pregnancy which came up as negative...... I feel like Im going crazy, I have every symptom of pregnancy and I know I am not imagining my growing belly or the flutters...... I can't see my Dr again for another 2 weeks, I am thinking if I am further along then I think could the ultrasound not have picked it up???? Don't know if anyone has been through a similar thing I just need to share this!!! Oh and with my first child I actually was 3 months before I found out I was pregnant but that showed up on a normal test...... Thanks

Hi ... I kind of know what you're going through. I think I'm pregnant, this would be my first. I've been having symptoms. Last month I was 6 days late and then I think I had spotting as wasn't the normal heavy flow. This month again 3 days late and again very light spotting????
I did last month HPTs but came out negative. I've got a docs appointment on 14th of this month and I really hope it's a pregnancy. What I'd like to tell you is that months ago I found out I had cysts on my overies which caused pregnancy symptoms but gave me normal periods. Didn't they see if you had cysts on your overies when they did the ultrasound?????? They do cause all kinds of pregnancy symptoms. I hope that for me it's not the cysts again as they're really screwing up my systom for the past 2 months. And I hope that you too are pregnant and that it's nothing cysts or something serious. Baby dust of us both ;) Let me know how it goes.

Hi Aggs75, yes they did check my ovaries thats all the stupid woman seemed to want to check, for get the fact that I have a quite prominent belly and look pregnant, I guess I will just have to be patient and wait until I can see my Dr again, maybe this time he will take me a little more serious!!
Goodluck with yours Baby vibes to you

I really don't want to let you down, but I seriously doubt a ultrasound would miss a pregnancy. I have heard if your uterus is tilted it cn be missed very early on but not if you think you are pretty far a long. I hve 3 kids too and all my ultrasounds were done very low on y stomach. I am sorry but I think you ar imagining being pregnant so much that you are actually starting to believe it. you can convince your mind you are pregnant so much it can make you actually feel symptoms.

The hallmark sign of pseudocyesis that is common to all cases is that the affected patient is convinced that she is pregnant. Abdominal distension is the most common physical symptom of pseudocyesis (60– 90%). The abdomen expands in the same manner as it does during pregnancy, so that the affected woman looks pregnant. This phenomenon is thought to be caused by buildup of gas, fat, feces, or urine.[citation needed] These symptoms often resolve under general anesthesia and the woman's abdomen returns to its normal size.

The second most common physical sign of pseudocyesis is menstrual irregularity (50–90%). Women are also reported to experience the sensation of fetal movements known as quickening, even though there is no fetus present (50%-75%). Other common signs and symptoms include gastrointestinal symptoms, breast changes or secretions, labor pains, uterine enlargement, and softening of the cervix. One percent of women eventually experience false labor

I read the thread, congratulations!! It is so frustrating when you know something is going on with your body and everyone tells you your wrong. I know this wasn't planned, but it sounds like you are still happy. :o}
