Hey there! I am 6 mo. preg. with my 4th baby and have tried everything for heartburn! Milk never really helped me, and you HAVE to get some TUMS!! Try not to eat for a couple of hours before bed and keep a couple of extra pillows handy to prop yourself up a little while you sleep. If you drink carbonated drinks, you might want to cut that out also. Hope this helps!

Mints or sugar free gum is good. Anything to create more saliva which will help heartburn.

Try some plain rice or other whole grain. Maybe some grain bread.

I get heartburn pretty bad that it causes chest pain, I'm sure everyone is like that. What works great for me, which for some people is not a good idea, is drinking some kinda soda that makes you burb, it relieves some of the ache. I've tried alot of Tums kinda stuff, nothing seams to work, coke for does the trick!

apparently apple cider vinager - 1 teaspoon in a glass of water before you eat is amazing for heartburn!! i haven't tried it yet as i am not that far along, but i read it in a health book- and my gf swears by it - let me know if it works!!

How early did everyone feel heartburn? I may be only 2 weeks pregnant, but I am suffering from heartburn, bloating and gas.

They say try eating smaller meals but sometimes this doesn't even help. I too have heartburn what seems like all the time. Bananas are a natural heartburn soother in case you didn't know. I just keep a bottle of Tums on me wherever I go!
Hope this helps...

I've always heard that celery is great for heartburn, although I've never tried it.

I used Brioschi for both of my pregnancy. I actually found that tums caused me acid reflux. Brioschi is all natural and I found relief to come very fast with it.

Try enzymes from the health food store. Also Activated charcoal, but check w/ the dr first.

someone mentioned something about almonds. So I ate some almonds, and I couldn't believe it. My stomach felt normal. It was amazing! I also use Tums, but it's not full relief. It's only a bit helpful. Coke/Pepsi, all sodas give me HB, tomatoes, raw onion, mints.

I went to the store the other day to get some Tums because my heartburn was so bad. Turns out the active ingredient is calcium. Calcium carbonate which is the hardest form of calcium to digest. Since I am lactose intolerent I have been taking a calcium/magnesium supplement throughout my pregnancy. I decided to take more calcium when my heartburn bothered me. It has been working great.

My heartburn started mid-pregnancy and has just gotten worse. I don't even have to eat anything for it to strike. Nothing OTC worked (and Tums counteracts your iron absorbancy from your prenatal vitamin). So my OBGYN prescribed Reglan. It is the only thing that has helped me.

I am 8 months pregnant and suffer from heartburn daily! When tums don't work or anything else I use a 1/2 tsp. of baking soda and a 1/2 cup of water. It tastes really nausty but it will make you burp up all that acid stuff.

What causes something to feel like it is in your throat and causes heartburn. I have not had heartburn but something is in my throat that is causing it. My food still go down, but there something is just sitting there.

I have had horrible heartburn from the 5th month on and I've tried all the antacids and they don't seem to help at all. Fruit and cold milk or ice cream are the only things that I have found that helps at all. Carbonated drinks help sometimes, but other times it just makes it worse. Mine is painful in my chest, back and throat.

I am now 8 months pregnant and have dealt with heartburn since about 5 months. You definitely need tums, but tried to stay away from the flavored ones...the dyes are not always the best thing for you or the baby. Also try eating smaller meals throughout the day, and drink lots of water...but be sure to stop drinking the H2O after 4pm to avoid additional urination during the night. Good luck!

SOLUTION!! A glass of water by the bed with some bi carb soda in it. You need alkaline to deal with the acid. Plus its natural so it cant harm you or baby. Its the only thing that helps me. I have it 24-7 and only 5 mths

HMMM well thats a truely tough one. Make the investment in gaviscon tablets and take 1 or 2 before you settle down for the night. They were wonderful for me for the beginning of the 9th month, then I had to be prescribed ranitidine. Trust me I can relate, good luck, and drink lots and lots of water try chewing on ice as well. :)

hi! i'm from india and we don't get any tums, apple cider vineger, etc. I'm in my 8th month and have lived with heart burn for many months. My solution is-Whole Fennel Seed, (Foeniculum vulgare) lightly roasted and then ground with little sugar. Keep it with me all the time. Also cures constipation. Works for me :-)

Good old fashioned remedy of milk is pretty much the only thing that relieves heartburn. i am 5 pregnant with twins and suffer from h/b quite alot, especially at night, waking up a few times with discomfort and i found that taking a good mouthful of cold milk relieves pain and ur back to a comfy sleep at least for half the night. Try it, it works and its good for you and the baby. Oh... and custard does wanders too.

i had a large problem w/ milk as well, for some reason although i'm NOT lactose intolerent, dairy gave me horrible indigestion. i tried taking tums, btu they didn't work for me, my suggestion is rolaids soft chews, they're not chalky, they taste kinda good, AND they're $.99 for a package.. my tip though, take one see how that works then add on addtional chews afterward (they suggest to start out with 2-3, i found i didnt need it) -too much antacids is actually bad and can worsen your heartburn.. hope this helps!!
