Question: It is like a nightmare! i have a really bad feeling right now that i am. I can not sleep i have been bleeding heavy red blood all weekend and the pains just started last night and have kept me awake all night. This is my story on why i think i am having a miscarriage. I am 21and thought i was to never have kids. Friday i went to see a specialist about a cyst on my ovary and to my suprise i find out that i am pregnant. The doctor does an ultrasound and we hear the babys heartbeat for the first time, i am 6 weeks and 1 day they inform me. everything looked normal they say and take pictures and take my blood etc. The blood results are in today (Monday) so i didn't know anything this entire weekend! My blood started out brown and only very minimal spotting since at the doctors office on Friday..... over the weekend the flow increased Dramatically, and now i have very very bad pains and i even passed a blood clot. I am a nervous wreck, i don't know what to do and i have no insurance just yet. I wish someone could give me some advice on what is going on with my body. I cant sleep or eat. I am waiting for the doctors office to open so i can call and try to get in there today as soon as possible becuase not knowing is driving me crazy. I just have that feeling it is not good and now i am so scared to have a D & C. I am suffering enough as it is. I heard that if the doctors hear a heartbeat at 6 weeks the less of your chance of miscarriaging , is this true?? The heartbeat was 114...so does anybody have any advice for me? please help me!!! ? ↓

hi...i am not sure where you live, but i hope by this time you have been able to talk to a Dr. you need to get in and see one right away. light spotting in early pregnancy can be normal, however heavy bleeding and pain during pregnancy is not normal. i hate to worry you, but this does not sound good and i really think you need to get in somewhere. i would go to the ER or perhaps an urgent care. remember, we are not Dr.s here, and i could be wrong, but i hate for you to not to get looked at. i am sorry sugar. and, if , god forbid, you do need a D & C, do not be afraid, as they knock you out for it. i lost a baby at 16 weeks some years ago, and though scary, the procedure was not bad and the recovery was like a crampy period. hang in there toots and let us know what happens. hugs ↑

from your symptoms it sounds like it might be a m/c. i'm so sorry. but before they do any d&c's or anything, make sure they do another scan because i bled heavily and passed tissue when i was around 4w pregnant and today am 14w pregnant. i guess, my only good advice would be to look at this as optimistically as possible. like, you said you never thought you'd be able to have kids, but you are pregnant, so at least you know you can get pregnant and that's the first step! i mean who knows. if this is a m/c you might end up getting pregnant again right away like a lot of women do. ↑

I would like to start off saying thank you everyone for the advice, unfortanetly you were all correct it was in fact a miscarriage. I went and seen my Doctor this morning first thing and there was no heartbeat detected this time and in the ultra sound it seemed to be moving out of the uterus. I was also informed on my blood work taken for your po-something level...it was only 9.5 and he said average is 15.0 or better. I also am RH negative and something about the babies antibodies i will have to come back for a shot in a few days. Im not really sure on the termenology...I am blessed to know that god finally answered me and give me closure by showing me i can indeed reproduce. We will wait and get a few things in life ready but we are happy to soon try again. The doctor says that its a proven fact that 20% of woman miscarry on thier first pregnancy for uknown causes controlled my mother nature herself. Im glad to know it wasnt the father or me and that in the furture our success of concieving again is highly likely to be healthy!!! I do thank you again, before i leave i do have a question. My doctor give me 2 options on the m/c: either i cold get a d&c or i can pass the baby naturally. I chose natural even though it is very painful laides, i cant bring myself to pay someone to pull it out. Will this complicate my future attempts to get pregnant if i dont choose the d&c?? Is it best for me to maybe follow up with the surgery to get it all out?? I was thinking being only 6 weeks it wouldnt hurt a thing but i could be wrong. Im excited to start trying again in the next 6 months hopefully if everything finacially pans out for the 2 of us!!!

was it your progesterone that was at 9.5? because if so, that's weird because mine was 9 and they just put me on progesterone supplements. as far as the d&c goes, yeah it does seem terrible that way, but sometimes when women choose a natural miscarriage, tissue is left behind and a d&c is needed in the end. and it is very bad for you if you leave the tissue behind and choose not to have it removed. they aren't that bad, to be honest. they put you to sleep for it and when you wake up you have bad cramps like a heavy period. i bled for 3 or 4 days after mine (some women bleed longer) and it just ensures everything is out for you to try again. me, personally, i would choose the d&c but that's just me. ↑
