Hey, this is great. I have been following the "problems getting pregnant thread. We are in the process of international adoption right now.
Would love to connect with other adoptive moms.

I too was THRILLED to see this topic!!! My dream is to open an adoption agency and adopt myself! This is wonderful for other's going through, or gone through, the adoption process and give encouragement to others! :-)

It's great to see this subforum here! I was in the process of starting international adoption when I fell pregnant. You can't go ahead with adoption while pregnant here (NSW Australia), so it's all "on hold" until my surprise bundle of joy arrives in September. My "ideal" family has always included a blend of bio and adopted children, but it's just happening in the reverse order to what I expected!

We've been looking into adoption lately too. We have one bio DD, and have been trying for another, but with no success so far. Either way though, we want to adopt 1 or 2 children into our family too. We've really been lookiing into adopting from Ethiopia, since there's a real need in that country, and I visited Africa as a teen and fell in love with the people and the culture. Anyone have an agency they can reccomend? We think we found ours (Americans for African Adoptions), but I'm not opposed to considering other agencies with good referals.

I was happy to see this as well.
My husband and I are just starting the adoption process - meaning we're learning all that we can and hoping to find someone to do a private adoption.
We lost our daughter in June 2008 to preeclampsia after many years of trying to conceive. Now we've found out that getting pregnant again would be very dangerous for me. To extend our family, we'll have to adopt. We're open to any race or any mixture of races. We just a little sugarbug to love and to spoil.
We like the idea of an open adoption where the birthmother can be an ongoing part of the child's life.
Agencies are so very expensive and we simply can't afford to shell out 30-60k at one time. We're completely able to take care of a child and offer financial security, but agencies are just too expensive. I think it's a better idea to help the birthmother get on her feet with financial help than paying all those fees to an agency.
Is there anyone out there seeking someone to parent their child?
