I'm new to this so please everyone bear with me. I'm on hear looking for some advice. I have not had my period since 5/25/2008. I've been experiencing signs and symptoms of pregnancy. I've had nausea, vomiting, extremly tired, mood swings, tingling in the nipples that comes and goes, i get bloated very easily, some cramping hear and there, spotting that lasted 2 days and some water like discharge. I have always had regular periods. My partner and I do not have protected sex and I have been off of the pill since the beginning of June. We are trying to get pregnant. I have had 2 positive at home pregnancy tests and went in for a blood test and it came back negative. I still have some of the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. Could I possibly be pregnant but it's not showing up on a blood test. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!! ↓
The blood test is more accurate than home pregnancy tests. If after a week you're still getting a positive result at home, ask them to test again. What may have happened was a "chemical pregnancy" where you were barely pregnant for a few days but the pregnancy did not survive. Getting off the pill can cause irregular periods and all sorts of hormonal symptoms too, which may be compounding your confusion. If you are pregnant, the level of your pregnancy hormone should be doubling every 2-3 days, so retesting in even just 1 week's time will be very reliable. ↑
I totally understand where you are coming from. My last period was 7/15 and I have a 20-23 day cycle. I have not started yet 8/19 (Day 35), but I had a hcg blood test on 8/11 that was neg and 8/15 that was neg too. It is NOT normal for me to go longer that 25 days at most. I have symptoms of being pregnant, BIG bbs, itchy & very pert nipples (not normally so responsive), gas, constipation, yesterday and today had some nausea out of the blue, headaches a week ago, lower backaches, a little mild cramping like something was pinching me from inside and my emotions see to change like the wind, ready to cry at the drop of a hat. It is frustrating. Right now I'm almost wishing I would just start to get back to a normal cycle. I really hope things work out for you! ↑
