Length limit on Graco SnugRide

My ds2 is 4 months old and already 27.5 in long. From searching on the web I have read that the limit on these car seats is 26 in. Does anyone know if that is correct? If so I guess I have to change him to a fixed rear-facing car seat already. What a pain in the butt and a waste of money. Is there any way I can stop him from growing...hehe j/k of course!

I have a snug ride as well. My son is two and a half months and already 24 1/4 inches. His well check was today. I guess calling Graco would be the best way to find out.

I just checked on gracobaby dot com. It states that you should ditch the infant seat once the baby's head approaches the top edge of the seat. It doesn't say anything about length of the child.

Some of them are 29 inches. You can see it on the sticker on their seat.

we had the graco snugride too and my son switched to a convertible carseat (Evenflo - Truimph) at 6 months. He isn't a really big kid either but the belt on the carseat was well below his shoulder and he was looking overgrown for this carseat! Had I known I would've just bought the convertible from the beginning, but it worked out for the time we had it since we got the lightweight graco stroller. ah well!
