Thanks for starting the new thread, Robyn! -April ↑

Thanks April. I guess I now understand how you felt. Although I talked to lactation consultants today (yes multiple) and they said to keep trying. She has been taking the right side today and has had huge diapers full of pee and poop so I guess it's going to work. I'll just be lopsided with you, Brandy! :) ↑

Sarah, I am so sorry for the nursing troubles. Hang in there, it will get better! I'd be happy for you to join me in the lopsided club. My dh calls me the cyclops. What a meanie! Keep us posted on Claire. ↑
Hi guys. Sarah, glad that Claire is doing well. Just when I thought that Ethan's fussy eating had finished he had a full weekend of fussy eating. He does seem gassy and I feel so bad for him. He doesn't really cry but does shout and squirm a lot. He seems to do this with both formula and breast milk. At night he seems to feed easier too. Just sucks it down. He also has plenty of poopy and wet diapers. I wish I knew how to help him, it makes me feel worse that I am weaning him off the breast milk but honestly I need to be done with it! i may call his doctor today and ask about it. ↑

Astra, maybe Ethan has some acid reflux. Lots of babies have it, and it does cause fussy eating, b/c they're in pain and it hurts, yet they're hungry. Jack has it, but not bad enough to be on meds for it. We just make a point to keep him upright 20 min after feeding, and we use the Enfamil AR formula to try to keep it down better. For some reason, it seems to bother Jack less at night, too. His reflux will wake him up from naps, but he sleeps straight through the night. 'Hope your dr has some helpful info. - April ↑

Oh, and it also helps to keep them as upright as possible during feeding, but that's a little tough with breast feeding. - April ↑

Thanks April. He seemed to do much better yesterday, and this morning he sucked down 7oz of formula without fussing at all....he keeps me confused. You could be right about the acid reflux, but I feel like you that if it's not all the time I wouldn't want to give him meds. I try to burp him often when feeding and I do try and keep him up on my shoulder after a feeding too. Now he's napping in his swing *the little angel*
On a positive note I have found a babysitter. I realized I needed a little time to myself and have a back up plan for doctor's appointments etc, since we don't have any family where we live. I'm so excited, I did some interviews and the person I found seems really lovely and had fantastic references...I can't wait to be able to go back to gym, do laundry without my little fussy guy and most of all just have some time to breath...
At first I felt so guilty since he is still so little, and then I thought to myself that I am his mom 24/7 and to be a good mom I really need a little respit every once in a while. ↑

Ahh a babysitter sounds so good. :) Claire is doing a lot better about napping by herself now though so I think I will survive and actually be able to clean for more than 10 minutes a day now. So from all my research it seems she had a nursing strike. It is common around her age especially if they have an illness (like her UTI) and since Sunday she has been nursing again just fine. She wants the nipple shield on the left side though but hey I'm glad to compromise that way! I am so relieved. Sick babies are just no fun. Brandy that is hilarious (yet mean) that your husband calls you cyclops. Sounds like something my DH would do. Hehe. I was such a doofus yesterday. Claire's antibiotic has to be refrigerated and I went to my mom's house and stuck it in her diaper bag and not only forgot to put the antibiotic in the fridge, but forgot to take the diaper bag out of the car in 100 degree weather. Smart huh? So I had to call the Dr. to get a refill and that was great. Sigh. She'll be done with the antibiotics after tomorrow so that will be great. On a side note, a friend of mine has a 14 month old little girl and she was born missing most of her liver. Just two nights ago she got her liver transplant in Dallas from a little baby who passed away in Corpus Christi. I just cried and cried when I got the news. I am happy my friend's baby is going to be healthy and fine but at the same time I ache for the family who lost their baby. I never really understood a mother's love until having Claire. It's amazing how these sweet babies steal your heart! ↑

Astra: Yes, you definitely do need some time to yourself to get things done or just relax. We don't have a babysitter, but my parents are in town. It's great to have one of them come by, even for just a couple hours so I can go running or do errands. You know, women used to have a lot more of a network than we do now, back when most moms stayed home with the kids. And, before that, back in the so-called caveman days, people lived in family groups, so there were extra hands around all the time to help raise children. We weren't meant to do it solo, so I think it's grea that you found someone you're comfortable with to keep Ethan from time to time and keep you sane! - April ↑

Sarah: Your post hadn't come up yet when I wrote mine. That is so sad and so wonderful at the same time about your friend's baby. It makes me tear up to think about losing a baby. My heart really goes out to them. It is wonderful that the other little girl got a chance at life through it, though. - April ↑

Oh and how could I forget to share Claire's milestone? She rolled over from her back to her belly yesterday! I'm in trouble now... ↑

Hi Guys, thanks for the validation April. I am really looking forward to getting a few things done without thinking is he going to wake up in a second...Sarah, I laughed when I read your post about forgetting the medicine in the bag because I do stuff like that all the time and then get frustrated with myself. My excuse is that as long as my sleep is so interrupted I guess my brain is not working 100%. Sarah congratulations on Claire turning over. Ethan was on his tummy yesterday and was not happy about it and managed to turn on his back. I was so proud. He hasn't done it since though so maybe not so interntional... ↑

Hey girls checking in tomorrow Justin goes for his 4 month vaccines i am upset about it the thought of purposely inflicting pain on his though for a second really bothers me. My DH is going with us and will stay in the room like he did last time and i will leave and come back afterwards. I know its for a good reason but i hate doing it. He had zero reaction the last time so i am hoping for the same thing again. As for the rolling over Justins only done it a few times and hasnt since. He did it from tummy to back like 3 times last week and not since then. They say they can start to roll between 4 - 7 months. He loves to eat eat eat and everything is in the mouth. We weighed him at home at 16 1/2 lbs and 26 inches so i am curious what he "really" weighs on the baby scale tomorrow. I am also sure they are gonna start some type of "solids" as well considering this kids formula intake. Anyway hope you are all doing well. Sarah - congrats on Claire doing so great hope the rest of you are as well. ↑

Hi gals, I haven't been on in a while as I've been swamped with work. Well AF showed her ugly face on Tuesday. Man, I have never had such a heavy period. But I guess that's normal. Hopefully my next one won't be so bad. It's so weird how it started not long after I started supplementing Ford with some formula. Sounds like we're all getting back into the flow of life with babysitters, work, exercise, etc. I do enjoy working again even though it can be a little stressful from time to time. I am thankful that I work at home, have wonderful help and can check on my lo or breastfeed whenever I need to ! What a blessing. Ford has been rolling over for a few weeks now. He has also really started to babble a lot in the last week. It so cute, it's like he's trying to tell us something. We put together his jumperoo yesterday & he loves it. I'll try to send some pictures of him soon. Robyn, hopefully Justin does great again with the shots. Ford is due to go around the 27th but his dr is out on vacation so we don't go back until July 15th. Guess we'll get off the schedule a little but oh well. Let us know what he says about solids. I have to admit something to you gals. We broke down & started putting a little rice cereal in Ford's nighttime bottle. So far, it seems to not bother him at all. I know we said we were going to wait, but he just seemed so hungry. And after a few nights of him wanting to nurse every 2hrs, I said, let's give it a try. Last night, for instance, he took the bottle at 9, was asleep by 9:30, woke to nurse at 2 and then at 5am. So a little better. Sometimes I think he uses me as a pacifier in the night. I am going to try to eliminate that 5am feeding he seems to make a habit out of. See if I can strech him to 7am. Hope you'll don't think I'm a bad mother. Have a great day! ↑

Brandy: You are not a bad mom. I've been giving Jack the Enfamil AR formula for his reflux for almost 2 months now. It's got added rice starch, so that's basically the same thing. I did noticed he started sleeping longer at night when we started him on it, too. I think at this point, anything reasonable you can do to get them to sleep, go for it! We are still having a hard time with naps. No matter what I do, he doesn't take more than a 20 minute one unless he's on me. Congrats to you girls and your lo's who are rolling over! Wow! Jack hasn't rolled yet, but he's trying. I hold him a lot, so sometimes I wonder if he doesn't get enough floor time to practice those skills. It doesn't help that we have to keep him upright for 20 mins after feeding - can't put him down on the floor right away. He goes for his 4-week visit next Friday - not looking forward to the shots. Well, I'm hosting a pre-crawlers playdate at noon, so I gotta go get things ready. - April ↑

Oh yeah Brandy you are such a terrible mother shame on you... just kidding. I totally understand you. I would try the same thing if Claire started pulling that stuff on a regular basis. She did while she was sick but she is back to sleeping from 8:00-3:00 and then she is genuinely hungry, nurses, and goes back to sleep from 3:30 to around 6 or 6:30. This morning she slept until 8 though so I felt great! She is really seeming to be starting to teethe though so I have been contemplating putting a banana in one of these net things I got where they can only get minuscule pieces of whatever you put in there but they get all the mess and fun of solid food. I think she would really enjoy it. I haven't had a period since that last one I talked about a while ago. I think that might have just been more PPM bleeding because it wasn't at all like any period of mine-- no cramping or anything like that. At least I'm hoping that I won't have any more periods for a long time! Anyway I am off to make some breakfast while Claire finishes her nap. ↑

OMG my baby is sooo big hes off the freaking charts LOL. Hes 27 1/2 inches this kid grew 6 inches since birth and hes almost 17lbs. They said we should invest in a good basketball scholarship for him LOL. We start foods tomorrow they said with his height and weight hes more than ready to eat something. He took his shots extremely well nothing at all out of him except a tiny cry becaue he was soooooo tired we were at this freaking place for 3 hours and Justin never made a peep the entire time we were there. Hes too good. But he didnt like being held down for his shots but once they stopped holding him down he was all smiles. Now i just have to hope that he continues his happiness for the rest of the day. ↑

BRANDY - HELLOOOOOO Justin has been getting a tablespoon of cereal in his formula every night and it still doesnt get him sleeping thru the night. My pedi said by the size of him it explain the poor thing is soo damn hungry thats why hes waking a few times a nite still. SOOOOO... heres the food plan since you asked. Tomorrow we will start with a couple of teaspoons with formula and see how well he takes it. After he masters the spoon and rice cereal we increase to tablespoon, then moving to oatmeal, then barley. After that we move to veggies (first) because he said they get too used to fruits first they probably wont like their veggies. So its veggies, each one for 3 days then once you get thru all them move to fruits, each one 3 days at a time to see if theres any allergies. After that mixing fruits/veggies. Ok justin just woke i will be back to write more. ↑

Robyn, Thanks for the info. That's about what I thought the plan would be on introducing solids. I am so ready to start Ford too. He was up last night wanting to nurse at 10 (after having a bottle at 7:45), 1, 3 and 5. This cannot go on. I emailed my dr about giving him some more food. We'll see what he says. Hope everyone has a great weekend! ↑

Okay, so af finally showed up, but it's certainly a case of "be careful what you wish for," b/c I feel like s%*t! I think I may have some sort of flu virus too, b/c on Sat, I ran a fever of 100.7, was achy all over and nauseated. I don't know if having a period can do that to you all by itself, but either way, it ruined my weekend. I felt okay today until I ate lunch, which now feels like it may decide to come back up. 'Sorry to complain - one of those days. - April ↑

Aww April I hope you're feeling better today. My first period was a whopper in terms of blood loss, but I didn't have any of those issues. You poor thing! I hope your stomach feels better. There is absolutely nothing worse than nausea, except morning sickness because it's chronic!! Ahh I don't miss those days, lol. Claire has started taking at least one three hour nap a day! It is so wonderful. I've been scrubbing the house like crazy trying to get it back to normal since for a while there I couldn't get anything done. She wasn't liking her slings much at all so I got this thing called a Sleepy Wrap and it looks like she might like it. It holds them more like the baby Bjorn things but it is a bit softer and more versatile because you can hold them in there in different positions. She really likes being vertical though and the slings I had were putting a lot of pressure on her legs and just weren't comfortable for her. I just got the wrap last night so I am sort of excited for her to wake up so I can try it. :) I hope it will allow her to see enough to be occupied because she is SO NOSY! And she has started this high pitched little squeak to get attention that is so adorable but I am trying not to encourage it because as soon as she learns how, it will turn into a scream, I am fairly sure. Yikes. Anyway I have babbled long enough. Hope everyone is having a great week! ↑

Hello everyone. Got the pics of everyone's babies and they are even more adorable as time goes on!!! I noticed several of you have the rainforest jumparoo. Just wondering how your lo's like it....we have a lot of their stuff and were thinking of getting Wyatt one cause he loves the swing and the mobile and soother in that style. Major milestone.....we put him to bed at 9:30 last night and didn't hear a peep till nearly 5....yay!!! Hope you all are doing well---gotta go pack up his bag for the sitter tomorrow before bathtime!!!! ↑

Hey all i have to say my little big man is sleeping wonderfully we had a couple of days with constant waking every few hours which was more than likely a growth spurt that has no changed to him only waking once a night hes sleeping for approx 12 hours a night. His normal bed time is 730 and hes going till about 130-230 am for a bottle then waking at 730 - 830 am this has been the 3rd night so i see a new pattern forming. His napping continues every 1 - 1 1/2 hours and last for 30-45 min for each nap. VAL - we have the jumperoo OMG Justin LOVES it totally hilarious worth the buy. OH BRANDY - i dont know if i would hold off on the oatmeal and barley cereals Monica told me that they are harder on their tummys and we should wait several months for that. So we are just gonna do rice. (: Ok justin just woke from his nap time for a bottle. ↑

Claire is beginning to fuss so I don't have much time but I wanted to say that she really likes the jumperoo. She can barely touch the floor so I put a book under her so she can get some leverage but it's also been really good to help her build some leg muscles. It occupies her the longest out of all of her gear. ↑

Hello ladies! I know it has been a long time but work has been pretty hectic but i still come on and check up on you ladies! It seems like our little ones are growing so quickly! =0 I too enjoy seeing everyones' babies and watching them grow and get bigger through pictures! My little Brooklynn is wonderful. She found her voice and loves to scream!!! Definately a daddy's girl! she will just stare at him and smile ear to ear... no matter what he is doing! But i just wanted to check in myself and tell everyone hi and i didn't just go away... work had/has been pretty hectic and that is where i get on this site from! I am going to have to look into the jumpers! We have the bouncher and like the activity center but she seems bored in them.. lol... she does like to watch some tv though! =) ↑

Hey, everyone. I'm finally getting over whatever I had and feeling better. Thank goodness I didn't give it to Jack. We have our 4-month appt this morning - boo, shots! We have hit a milestone - he is now taking naps in the bed and not on people. You know, I'm always wondering when it's time to take the next step - when do I put him in the crib? When do I stop rocking him to sleep? But he always lets us know. Just this week, he started getting fidgety and not napping well in the Baby Bjorn, so we tried him on his own, and I guess he was ready! He's also not liking to be rocked to sleep at night so much. He seems to get hot and uncomfortable in our arms, so we just put him in bed, turn the mobile on and rub his tummy til he falls asleep. I love my little man so much, and he's growing so fast! Okay, enough rambling. - April ↑

Hey all Justin ate almost an entire jar of sweet potatoes baby food today this kid was literally trying to cram the spoon in his mouth he couldnt get it quick enough cannot beleive how much he loves this stuff its quite fun to start foods. APRIL - i dont think theres a "set" time to do stuff its when you feel ready. We moved Justin in his own room and crib a month ago my take on that was hes got no problems sleeping, he doesnt need to be rocked, or sung too or anything just put him into to bed drousy but awake and within 5 min hes out cold. So we figured we wanted our privacy at night be able to watch our tv shows not being afraid of having the tv too loud etc. plus within the next few months he is going to realize where hes sleeping and it might start to get hard to get him in his own room so thats the reasons why we did it now. I want him to have that independence and know when hes in his crib its bedtime. If he doesnt want to be rocked anymore then dont hes giving you the signs. We just did the 4m vaccines on Friday he had no problems whatsoever. K2 want some pics please !! OK when you girls can can we have height and weight stats on the babies i am curious to see how all ours are growing. Justin is 17 lbs and 27 1/2 inches as of Friday. ↑

SARA - i am laughing about Claire with the jumperoo and you putting books under her feet for leverage because she cant reach the floor. Justins so big that his feet are on the floor its time for us to move to the 2nd strap already. ↑

Robyn: Yes, I had the same thoughts about putting him in his crib. Since he didn't have any trouble sleeping, I wanted to put him in his crib before he was really aware of where he was. Now the crib will be the place he associates with sleep. We had the 4-mo. appt today. Jack is 14 lbs, 11 oz. He cried when they did the shots but stopped as soon as it was over. He slept a lot of the rest of the day and was a little fussier than normal but not too bad. Have a good weekend, everyone. We're hoping to take Jack swimming for the first time tomorrow! - April ↑
