I have read things that say if you are sober enough to drive then you can nurse and there is no need to pump and dump. I really think you're fine, you didnt even get a whole glass in. I have been dying to have that first drink after pregnancy but I've been worried that would happen! I did buy a pump yesterday from evenflo. He's been taking a LONG nap in the middle of the day recently so I'll test it out then. -- I guess i forgot to mention the belly button issue. He had bled a couple of times after his cord stump fell out but the doctor said he thought it was healing nicely so there was no reason to do anything to it. Thank goodness because I cant imagine how I'd handle it if they had to burn it closed!

Whew I feel better knowing that. Thanks Chatty. Victoria's belly button bled just a hair after the stump fell off too. It wasn't alot but it was enough for me to ask the doc about. Thats good that you got a pump. Mine FINALLY came in yesterday. So you know I had to boil everything and try it out. I only got like an ounce and a half out of it after 30 mins. Sad. Well tomorrow is my PP appointment and I am hoping I get a clean bill of health and hopefully something, sorry TMI, for this pain in my ass. Ugh!!!! Nothing seems to be working, I just want to be able to go #2 with out hurting dang it. Besides I am kindof ready to be with my dh again if you know what I mean. ;-) Well I know everyone is busy with their little ones but I hope you all are doing good and you are at least getting a few minutes to yourselves. Have a great day and will talk to you later.... Time to enjoy this dry Texas heat, yuck. I just want a nice day not an 100 degree day again. Well later ladies!

1 1/2 oz is really good! I've heard that even if you have a really good supply you can only expect to pump a max of 3 oz. I tried to pump a few times yesterday but I was worried about starving the poor little guy. and I hear ya about the butt pain. I haven't even scheduled my post partem appointment yet (it is supposed to be next week) because I'm afraid its going to hurt!

Well I had my PP appointment today and surprisingly it wasnt as horrible as I thought it was going to be. The doc was very gentle when she was checking and I am defiantly still tender down there and in the tummy. No sex for me for a bit. She even gave me something for the pain in the butt. Thank goodness!!!!! I went by myself cause dh had to work and the women there took Victoria and just oohed and ahhed over her while I was getting checked. I love my doctors office they are the nicest group of women I have met for sure. I have lost all my preggy weight but 5 lbs!!!! wooo hooo. Sorry but I gained 50 with the lil munchkin and was happy when I was so close to pre preggy weight. Now time to hit the gym.... Oh man yesterday I pumped and got 3 oz but I also got a nice blister on my boob!!! what the heck! So now it hurts and I am back to using the shield on that one, how did that happen??? Well ladies have a great day!! Where is everyone? TTYL!

Hello ladies! I'm glad to be back! I was down under with a bad stomach and intestine flu for 5 days. Couldn' t eat at all and couldn't even keep water down for 3 days. Was still breastfeeding. DH was away on a business trip and my parents on vacation... I had to call DH to ask him to come back. Couldn't do it alone. He did, and now i'm better. Red: also went for my PP apptment yesterday and it was fine actually! Also had sex last night (sorry if TMI). Well, that did hurt a bit. Some advice: go slowly guys!!! And lubricate! My lo was sleeping fine for almost 2 weeks (like from 9 PM till 5AM) until a couple days ago. Why did it change??? I don't understand. I think I will get the book what to expect in the first year though. How's everyone doing today??

Cg I am glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the info for the first time ;-) Hopefully it gets better. Ok ladies I thought you weren't suppose to have a period breastfeeding. I woke up this morning with those all too familiar cramps and was like no way. Sure enough I started my period. I was like what the heck!!! I finally stopped bleeding from delivery now this. Happy 4th everyone. I know Victoria is a little young but we are going to a neighbors for fireworks tonight. I think it will be fun. Hope you all have fun at cookouts and enjoy your weekends!!!!

Hi ladies! I hope everyones weekend was a safe and fun one. How is everyone feeling? Everything is good here, Victoria is now up twice a night right now and pretty much does nothing but eat!!!! Another growth spurt I suppose. She is doing so good with tummy time and is great at holding her head up. She gets kindof mad when she is on her tummy for too long but I guess thats just her. I got that book and I have to say there is some pretty neat stuff in there! It gives great tips on how to play with them, this is stuff I really had no clue about. Granted I have 8 nephews but I wasnt around them 24 - 7. Thanks for the suggestion Renee!!!!! Defiantly a great buy. Well ladies I hope you all are okay, this thread is really quiet. Talk to you soon!!! later!

RED, I've gotten sore from the pump too, where it rubs on the side. No blister though. You poor thing! I'm relieved to hear that your appointment wasn't horrible. I still haven't called to schedule mine, but I will! And I've heard that some women get a period and then go months without it when breastfeeding. Some just don't have one. So, there is hope! Good luck to you, though. I've heard that the first one is bad. Let us know how it goes. CG - congrats on the sex! lol I still get sore/a pressure feeling especially now that I've been more active instead of sitting on the couch with DS all the time, so I'm probably not ready yet. ---- So, we're ALMOST all moved in the apartment and its great. I'm so excited to finish unpacking and have a place for everything, especially baby things. I can't wait to finish his nursery... not that he'll use it. We're still cosleeping. CG you're lucky that you got as much sleep as you have been! DS still wakes up every two or three hours to eat, except last night he only woke up once between 11 and 6. Hopefully your LO will go back to sleep again.

Kathy oh my the period was horrible the first 3 days. Thank goodness I still had Ib profen left over from delivering. I dont know what I would of done. The bad part is Victoria was going through her little growth spurt while I was on that and my milk supply went down. Poor thing so by 930 i felt like I had nothing left and she acted like it, so I was using reserves from pumping. I am so glad I did pump and freeze. Yay to finally being able to get your baby stuff out!!! And to the move!!! Lots of stuff going on for you!! I know what you mean about the pressure and stuff still down there. I am glad I finally got my bladder control back!!! Well saturday is my 28th birthday and my mil is going to watch Victoria so dh and I can go out to dinner. I am scared shitless to leave her with anyone not only my mil. She will be 6 wks Saturday too. She is just changing so much!! And she is defiantly getting heavier. Hey Chatty is Gavin still sleeping alot through the day? I mean she still sleeps really good at night but during the day I cant get her to nap in her crib and she is always catching cat naps on me when I feed her or hold her. It seems everytime I have her she sleeps, lol. Like she crys cause she is tired and then she is out in a heartbeat but as soon as I lay her down she is wide awake and cranky cause she is still tired. Just wondering if anyone elses little one is doing the same. Well ladies I gotta go!! Have a great day!!!

Hi girls! Well, last week Steven went on his first vacation. He did great! He stayed on his schedule and everything. I am doing well. No sex yet for us either. Even with the c-section, I'm having such a hard time. We tried and I just couldn't do it. It hurt! The Dr. said I was dry from nursing. I also feel like a virgin down there. I guess in time it will get better. Chatty, I'm glad you're finally getting to settle in. I don't know how you moved with an infant! Well, it's 110 degrees here today and I've been trapped inside with Steven all week. Plus the air is horrible from all the fires...I live in the valley so all the smoke settles in here. There are bad air warnings so there's no way we're supposed to be outside. It totally sucks! I wish I was on the coast in Monterey where we were last week! I'm starting to go nuts. What's worse is that my DH is probably going to have to work both days of this weekend so I'm going to get no break whatsoever. I really wish he didn't work so much...he gets home late every night of the week too. But that is what makes it possible for me to stay home so I'd better count my blessings. It's a total trade-off! Yes, Red, Steven wakes up when I set him down a lot of the time too. It's weird; when we're out and about in the car, he sleeps. Then when we are home, he doesn't really take long naps like he does when we're out. He just really likes the movement I guess. And when we're home, he wants to be held when he sleeps. That's a tall order, buddy! I hope you are all doing well!

Helloooooooooo ladies! I'm glad to see some action here! ChattyKathy: wow, I just cannot imagine how you moved. You rock! I'm sure you are looking forward to putting everything in its place and getting used to it! Reneenay: small vacation is great! I hope you had the chance to have some good time with dh too; it's not easy in our every day lives anymore to find some time to talk about something else than baby, isn't it??? My dd is 2 months old today!!!! Went to her appointment yesterday for her first shots and she is wheihing (sp?) almost 10 pounds now (9 pounds 15 ounces) and is in the 75th percentil for height!!! I'm glad! Oh, and do you know what happened yesterday? I was able to go to the spa to get a pedicure!!!! I was gone for about 2 hours total. Victoria was sleeping when I left, so I pumped a 4 ounce bottle before I left and left her with dh. Everything went fine and she drank her whole bottle and she was in a good mood when I got back! I'm so happy! Not that I wanted to leave her or get away from her, but I'm happy that she is going to accept to get feed by someone else. And I recommend a little getaway to everyone. It was really amazing to get some peace and quietness, even for 90 minutes. Red: my dd is just like yours: during the day, she sleeps on me and when I try to put her in the play pen or something, she wakes up! But I got a swing as a gift, and that works very well! She usually falls asleep in it!

Gavin is six weeks old and he USED to sleep throughout the day, good long naps. but ever since the trip and moving his schedule is all messed up. He decided he wanted to be awake at 3am yesterday! and then 6! and we both got up at 10. He stayed awake ALL day, only one nap around lunch time. He was so cranky. I know he was tired, but he just refused to sleep. Things are better today but he just went down for a nap and 30 minutes later he's awake again. I'm exhausted. If it wasn't such a dramatic change I think i'd be fine but his schedule is totally opposite, Its hard to adjust. I need a break! And tonight I finally get a night out, if I can pump out one more bottle (which has been really hard to do lately) Its the first time I'll spend any time without him, so I'm not sure how its going to go... but hopefully I wont miss him too much!
