Question: Has anyone had to undergo the Methotrexate shot and then how long did it take before you got pregnant after things has healed? Or has anyone had a DNC and then how long did it take before you got pregnant? Or did anyone get pregnant like 2 months after a DNC and methotrexate shot? I have had no preiod yet and am worried. thanks ?

Answer: I had to have 2 methotrexate shots due to an ectopic pregnancy in October/November. While being treated for that I got a large cyst and had to have a laparoscopy to have it removed. At that time they also did a D&C (november). It probably took me a good month to month and a half to get my period after all of that. I have been having regular periods ever since last monday when I missed it..I took a pregnancy test and it said "not pregnant" then I took another one today thinking maybe my levels were just to low for the test and it again said "not pregnant" I dont know whats going on with my body I hope its not another ectopic. I hope this helps a little bit. =
Answer: I was very fertile before my ectopic pregnancy. I recieved Methotrexate in June and didn't get a period for about 6-8 weeks. I was getting worried seeing as I wanted to start trying again. I finally got one and thought I could start trying again. Month after month I got my period regularly. I was getting very discouraged and finally after about 9 months got pregnant again. It got very stressful and every month I would start my period I would wonder am I ever going to get pregnant again. I am now in my 3rd month and have confirmed that everything is ok with this one. Its very stressful, but just remember you got pregnant once so you know you dont have a fertility problem. It just takes evryones body a little time to heal and bounce back. I hope I could help you. =
Answer: I got an methotrexate inj. 4-13 and4-22 and I have not gotten a peroid yet, but I have been having intercourse I couldn't be pregnant? =
Answer: i had an ectopic preg in february...and got a methotrexate shot.the doc asked me to wait fr 3 mnths b4 trying.ie;2 cycles.i got periods twice and 2-3 days back i ws done an hsg test.it said that my tubes were clear(thank God). the doc gave me a green signal for ttc.hope it works!all the best to u all too! =
Answer: i had a metho.inj on Feb 2, 05 and got pregnant March 17, 2005 and all is good =
Answer: I had a methotrexate injection in mid-march. I did not have a period in April, but I have had normal periods in both May and June. Despite my pre-ectopic pregnancy fertility (got pregnant the week of stopping "the pill") I have not been able to become pregnant again. I guess, in short, it just changes things in your body...for some people everything bounces back as before and for others it might take a little longer. Good Luck! =
Answer: Hi, Melissa! Yes, and I recieved the Methotrexate shot in April . I was told to wait one cycle after that before I tried to get pregnant again . I just took a pregnancy test and it's positive I am also worried . My doctor's appointment is next week. =
Answer: Have you had a period since the methotrexate shot and DNC? Did you go to the doctor twice a week or weekly for a hcg test (to make sure the pregancy hormone is out of your body?)
I actually had a DNC and lapascropy the end of May. On June 1, I had a shot of methotrexate. I got my period one month later (July 3). I did go to the doctor twice a week until the hcg hormone was out of my body. I am waiting three months before trying to conceive again.
=
Answer: YES I HAD A D NC AND WAS GIVEN METHOTREXATE SHOTS IN BOTH HIPS =
Answer: Chanel,
Make sure that your doctor does a HCG blood test at least once a week until the HCG is out of your system. And wait 3 months after the injection to conceive again. Good Luck! =
Answer: how fertile are you after a dnc? is it possible to get pregnant before you get your first period? =
Answer: I had a shot of the metho-trexate on May 24th and then I got my period exactly a month later on June 22nd. I then got pregnant again. I then got pregnant in the beginning of July when I was ovulating. I don't know if I waited long enough after I had the shot. I am almost 6 weeks pregnant now and I am really hoping everything will be okay with the baby. =
Answer: Tara,
Yes, you can get pregnant before getting a period after a DNC. I don't advise doing so though. Wait until you get a period and then try to conceive. I did that in May. I was trying to get pregnant before getting a period and it was a MESS! My doctor actually thought I was having a molar pregnancy because my hcgs were not going down. If I would have waited and been patient, I would of been able to try to conceive again in June but, now I have to wait until September because of the methotrexate shot I was given in June. Also now we are not sure if I had one or two miscarriages??? I miscarried in April my hcgs were way low and then in May they were high again but, then dropped again???? Maybe I did get pregnant again but, who knows cuz I didn't wait for a cycle. Also, not waiting a cycle opens yourself for infections. Just wait. Use protection! =
Answer: Kylie:
I had my methotrexate shot on June 1st. My doctor was very firm about using protection for three months. We have been very careful... no sex during ovulation, condoms, etc.
I do hope everything is ok. Talk to your doctor. My doctor was very adament about not getting pregnant within those 3 months. I hope the best for you. Good Luck! =
Answer: Did anyone out there get pregnant within three months of having the methotrexate shot? If so, did you deliver a healthy baby? =
Answer: Julie: I went to my doctor whenever I was 5 weeks pregnant....but I went there for a Pap. He was extremely busy in the office and when I told him that I was pregnant again all he said was that he couldn't do an ultrasound that day because his machine was broken. He also said that for 5 weeks he wouldn't be able to see anything anyways. So I have to go back in about a week and a half from now...when I am like 7 1/2 weeks pregnant. I didn't think about anything at first. Then my mom mentioned it and said that she thinks maybe we got pregnant again too soon after the shot. I guess that I just have to pray for the best. There isn't anything that can be done now. I will have to wait until I go back to my doctor. =
Answer: Julie: Another thing, my doctor didn't really make it clear to me when I could get pregnant again. I remember asking him and all that he said was whenever we get this baby out of your system (my ectopic) then we will worry about that. =
Answer: Kylie:
You won't be able to see anything on an ultrasound. Typically the methotrextae shot causes deformities that will not be seen until later on. I do hope everything is ok. I am surprised that your doctor didn't tell you to wait????? Good luck with everything! =
Answer: Hi. I love you guys for posting this question. I had a horrible experience. Had a DNC done to end a pregnancy Aug 3. I also had an enjection of Methatrixate one week previous. I just went to an OB this morning and he confirmed what I have been reading on the internet about Methatrixate and DNC's. Usually waiting until one period is sufficient. I told the Dr about my concern with the Methatrixate injection and he said it's out of your system by your next period. I wouldn't worry yourself about having a baby with problems. I would have worried if you had the injection while being pregnant, which is what happened to me and why I had the DNC done to termenate the pregnancy. So now I'm just waiting to get my period - hopefully in the beginning of September. Cross my fingers! Good luck to you and and don't worry, I'm sure the baby will be fine. =
Answer: I am pregnant with a possible ectopic pregnancy. I am also nursing a 9 month old baby. I was told they may give me methotrexate to end my pregnancy if it is indeed in my tubes. I am crossing my fingers as I hope it is in my uterus eventhoguh an early ultrasound showed nothing..however something suspicious was seen in my fallopian tube. I too want to conceive soon after and am worried about not being able to beacuse of this toxic drug and also damage to my tube..which can be the reason for an ectopic in the first place. Anyone else have an ectopic who is breastfeeding and has to tak metho blah blah? Thanks =
Answer: Hi Everyone, I am like yous a was given methetraxate on the 16 July 2007 for a suspected etopic which a dont think it was a was told at first it was a miscarraige, and asked if I had passed anytghing a said yes a bit of tissue, I then had to go back for blood work and it had dropped quite a bit from 600 to 300 they thgought my body was dealing with it, it then only went to 220 I then got an internal scan and thats what they diagnosed me with an suspected etopic, I had no pain jsut bleeding, they gave me 3 options leave me teh way a was which would take forever, the jag or an operation, after one week it went to 25 then the week after it went to below 2 I had no major side effects from it and had my first cycle 4 weeks after it, like most info I have read on the drug it says wait my doc told me something different as well a dont knwo what to belive. I have It has been 8 weeks this sunday that I have had the jag I have also been taking my antenatel vitamins after a got the all clear .Do I start trying agian I have had unprotected se a few times as yo will all; be aware this happens in the heat of the moment any advice would be great a have read some of the threads on here and it makes me glad to lknow taht am not alone =
Answer: My doctor said that it is best to bleed from the drug and then have another normal cycle and then begin to try thereafter. I have no idea what to expect from my experience bc I do not have a period on my own, got pregnant on injectables, bled through progestorone supplements 3 days after my 14 DPO beta test (therefore I can only assume I was miscarrying on top of having a very low number). I took the M shot because my beta leval remained at 68-72 without budging for 7 days and she figured the tissue was stuck somewhere and not flushing out and probably in my tubes. Terrible waiting game but best to move on and enjoy the next couple of months without feeling sorry for myself or miserable. Trying to keep my head up though it sucks. I wish everyone the best of luck and am sorry we have had to do this but thank God, we did not have surgery I guess. =
Answer: I had to have the shot after a mc. I waited 4 months because this shot is known to couse serious defects. I am currently pleased to announce I am pregnant with a healthy baby boy... =
Answer: A quick update. I was given the methodextrate 2 times. The first time it did not work as my hcg continued to double. After the second round of shots on Sept 6th I have been bleeding alot ever since it is now Oct 3rd. My doctor also told me that the metho leaves your body within 48 hours of being administerd. I was nursing a baby so I could not nurse for 48 hours after both rounds of shots. I still feel tender in the area where my tubes are at last hcg test my nubers were 95 they went from 3060 to 1600 to 450 to 95. I have another hcg draw tomorrow. I am anxious to ttc again. I do however want my body to heal. I would like to have the hsg to check to see if there was any blockage in my tubes. I hope everyone who did conceive after an ectopic and the drug methodextrate that they went on to have healthy little babies. I just turned 40 so time is not on my side. However I havehad no troubles getting pregnant in the past. I have had 1 missed miscarriage however and a D&C and another D&C after my delivery of by 10 month old baby. I also had another miscarriage all in 1 month..many years ago. How is everyone else doing? Deed~how is your pregnancy progressing..very happy for you..and this gives me hope at ttc after this toxic drug. :) =
Answer: Hi Ladies! Thanks for sharing your stories. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one out there going through this. I was given two doses of methotrexate back in July for a suspected ectopic pregnancy. My HCG numbers were going up VERY slowly. My doctors have told me to wait six months to conceive since I received the double dose. Does anyone know why I would have to wait six months? How come some doctors say to wait only one cycle while some other doctors say six months? I am so confused. The doctors also want me to have an HSG test to make sure my tubes are clear before trying again. What are your doctors saying to do about wait time? I would love to hear your answers. Thanks! =
Answer: Hi everyone. I had metho injection on 6/16 after they diagnosed an incomplete miscarriage. I miscarried within 2 days of the injection, and had some bleeding thereafter. I then had a period in July and again in August, exactly 28 days apart. My doc said we can try for a baby again two weeks after the August period. This would have been close to 2.5 months after the injection. I got pregnant right the way and have an ultrasound tomorrow. I am a bit worried both about another miscarriage and problems with the fetus, but hope for the best. The doctors say all different things, but I've done a ton of reading and it is recommended in most articles that the woman wait one cycle after the injection to get pregnant again. I think most of this scary talk about the fetal damage really applies to people who take methotrexate long-term for other conditions (like cancer) and not to women who just had one shot. If you're on metho for a while, then you should wait 6 months to get pregnant, but if you had one shot only then I think one to two cycles should be enough. =
Answer: Hi bdiaz! Good luck with everything tomorrow. I'm sure things will look great! Keep us posted. There are some other people on another methotrexate thread. I will try to get them to come over here so we can all help each other get through this! :) =
Answer: Hello, I had a couple metho inj's 2 wks ago one in each hip for a suspected ectopic preg possibly caused by my IUD (intrauterine device) I was using a s birth control. I was terrified I have never experienced anything similar. I have been pregnany 3 times and have three wonderful boys all healthy. This has really been an eye opening experience to me. Now I realize tha this happens to alot of people and I am not alone. I am anxiously awaiting my period (for the first time in my life) just to confirm everything is back to normal with me. I go to the doctor tomorrow and hope to hear good news. I am also thinking about having another baby so I also want to ask her how long it's going to take to attempt to conceive again. Well I hope all goes well with everyone. Thanks for all the information posted it all helps. =
Answer: Hi Paulina! Welcome to this thread. Thanks for sharing your story. Is an IUD a fertility device of some sort? Sorry about my lack of knowledge on this--my suspected ectopic was my very first pregnancy. I can only hope that I can have a successful pregnancy in the future. I think the worst part for me right now is the "not knowing" part. They knew this pregnancy was going to be inviable due to the HCG numbers--but they weren't sure if it was ectopic or actually in the uterus. It was way too early to tell--but they didn't want to risk tube rupture by waiting around to find out. Paulina, please share with us what your doctor says about wait time to ttc again. I had two rounds of the injection in each hip. One week apart. Ouch! I would love to know what advice your doctors give you. Have a good night everyone! =
Answer: sorry if this is a dumb question, but i was wondering if there are ways you can tell that its ectopic? =
Answer: Hi Guys. Hope all is well, I was off line there for a while. I was hoping for some good news but no luck for me this month I'm afraid. =
Answer: Hi, sorry it took so long for me to write back but remember I have 3 kids. I went to my appt on Tues and all is well and back to normal according to my doctor I should expect a period in 2 wks and I should wait at least a cycle before trying to conceive so all in all i'm happy that everything is okay now. Yes an IUD is a form of birth control without any hormones it works well I've used it for 3 years and had no problems until now but I definitely do not want it in me after this. According to the doctor my ectopic was most llikely caused by this device since one of it's functions is to not allow the egg if it does become fertilized to implant in the uterus. Also at first they didn't know if it was in the uterus or in the tube either and I was terrified but after having blood work done every other day she decided to inject me the methotrexate but according to her I received a really low dose because my levels were only at 63 and then dropped to 52 on their own which apparently wasn't enough so the metho did it's fuction within a week my levels dropped to 0. Well I hope this info helps you guys. Please excuse any typos I'm typing with my 20 month old on my lap. Bye Bye =
Answer: quick update my hcg is now 9 from 3300..as of last thrusday. I have been bleeding since Aug 27. however I think I just got a period at the tale end of all the bleeding because it was bright red. I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel as the bleeding is finallly lighteningup after 7 weeks. I will wait for my next period and possibly get some tests done to rule out that there is not a blockage and proceed with ttc again..I just pray I am able to get pregnat after an ectopic and methodextrate. How is everyone else doing? =
Answer: Hi Everyone! Wow, I'm so excited that I finally found you. It has been a long and painful road for me. Was shocked to find out I was pregnant back in July 07 as I took the plan B pill after an "oops" during ovulation. But here I was pregnant (didn't know conception was a real possibility with that pill-be very careful if you decide to take it-the packaging was very obscure about this situation). It wasn't planned but I was very excited. About a week after finding out I was pregnant went to the hospital for pain and spotting. Dr said HCG was pretty low for 5 weeks couldn't find the sac in uterus (hospital U/S). Went to OBGYN next day and he was optimistic as HCG had gone up quite a bit from previous day. The following week went for U/S. Found it was ectopic. That was Aug 1st. Had the M shot on that day. My hormones shot up to over 1,000 when I went back a week later. The first 4 weeks of getting my hormones checked they only went down about 100 or less each week (btw was in pain and bleeding heavily during the whole process). I asked for another shot. Dr said not necessary. By Sept 1st they were 450 then all of a sudden they started coming down by the 100's. Sept 22nd had heavy bleeding that lasted for 4 days. I thought it would be over but was wrong as I went for HCG check on the 27th and it was still 78. Dr said to come back in 2 or 3 weeks. I ended up going back today Oct 23rd. My concern is that I had intercourse on Oct 6th (2 weeks after that heavy flow). Took Home Pregnancy Test it was a very light positive. Am I pregnant or is that HCG still in my system?? I will know tomorrow after blood test comes back. If the home pregnancy test positive is from the previous ectopic it means that I am still going through this after almost 3 months. What a nightmare!!!! I hope I'm pregnant. Didn't know how ready I was for a baby until it happened!! I wish all of you the best of luck and thanks AGAIN!!! I LOVE THAT I FOUND YOU!!! I'M NOT ALONE ANYMORE!! : ) =

Thanks for all your support everybody else hang in there. Best Wishes to all and Happy Holidays =
Answer: Hi Ladies!
You know, when other people are going through a loss such as a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, it's so easy for me to tell them that it will all be okay and that everything happens for a reason. Well - it's a hard pill for me to swallow myself after just having gone through an ovarian ectopic pregnancy a few weeks ago. I also was treated with one dose of the methotrexate. My counts are going down but just this past week, I have been unable to get in contact with my dr to get the last results of my hcg bloodwork. My dr told me to keep taking my prenantal vitamins throughout the whole shot and aftermath ordeal. I have read many posts and for the most part, everyone else's dr told them not to take them. I am so ready to get pregnant again and hope that you all have much success too. I must confess, I am so scared that I will not get pregnant right away. My dtr. is 15 yrs. old and since then, this is the first time that I have gotten pregnant, even though me and my husband never used protection. I hope that I get pregnant right away, because I am not getting any younger. After my shot, I only had bad pain on the 2nd and 3rd day, after that I had bleeding for about a week. My husband and I have started having "relations" again, but know that we still need to wait before we try to get pregnant. I am so ready for that to happen!
I will stay tuned to this post and I am sending baby dust to you all! =
Answer: how is everyone doing? anyone ttc after having had the ectopic? Any bfp's? I have a sonohysterogram set up for january 14th and then I will ttc. I am ovulating because I took an
OPK and the fell positive last cycle. I am suppose to O on Dec 25th...so tempted to ttc leading up to that date but I think it's best if I get al all clear from the sono. Anyone else? =
Answer: Hi Kristin 72!
My husband and I are ttc since the ectopic. I actually went to my first dr visit the other day, since I had the methotrexate shot and the follow-up blood work. He told me that he won't do any tests to see if my tubes are blocked. He says that we would pretty much have to see if it happens again when I get pregnant again. That sucks though because that's the last thing that I want to have to go through again. He told me not to make getting pregnant again a JOB, but to enjoy it. That's easier said than done. For some reason though, my cycle shortened since the ectopic. I went from a 28 day cycle to a 23 day cycle. I really through me off last month. But I think I will be ready to go for it this month. AF just left last week, so I am ready for ovulation.
Baby Dust to you all!!! Please keep me posted on your success!! =
Answer: Hi Babygirls74, That's too bad your doc won't do the sonohysterogram. It doesn't hurt to have it done...I have heard many women get preggers right after because there tubes seem to get flushed out. It doesn't guarantee the egg won't get stuck again but I feel better ttc again knowing I do not have blocked tubes. It is not a wait and see next time you get pregnant for me..I would have to know my tubes are clear. I am 40 so I can't bare to have additional ectopics if I can help it. The chances are better if we had the methodextrate as our tubes are still intact..we could have just fluked out by having a slow egg or whatever. But, try asking to get this test if at all possible and if not all the best to you ttc #2..Babydust to you too!!!!!!!! =
Answer: I got a methotrexate shot when i was 19 but never went in for a DNC because i moved I hope thats not a bad thing. In aug and sept. i missed my monthly and then got it in Oct and now i'm 2 months late again i'm sick to my tummy alot and have bad headaches but no other signs what do I do =
Answer: have you had a pregnancy test? that should aleviate your worries. also you don't need a d&c unless your doc recommends it. was it an ectopic you had? where was the ectopic located? best of luck to you. =
Answer: I agree with you Kristin72, she should take a preg test. That may help to put your mind at ease. If you were supposed to have a dnc, I definitely would not put it off for long.
Best of luck to you! I just know that Babies are in our future for 2008! =
Answer: I had an ectopic at the beginning of December. My hcg levels are steadily going down after receiving two shots of methotrexate. Last I heard they were at 400. It seems like it has been such a long ordeal but I think it was a better choice than having the surgery and getting the tube removed! I continue to bleed even 20 days after the last shot and I have some pretty bad cramping that comes and goes. Also, it is painful to go to the bathroom at times! I'm tired all the time which is probably from the loss of so much blood.
My doctor has told me to wait at least 3 months before ttc. I badly want to try sooner. However, I have done some research of my own on this issue. I have found an article in the Oxford Journal of Medicine. It advises to wait 6 months before ttc as the methotrexate has been shown to remain in the system for that long. The article is filled with medical terminology so it is a little difficult to read but here is a quote from the summary which is a bit more straightforward:
"Women should be warned that there may be a small increased risk of spontaneous abortion early in pregnancy, and advised against taking MTX if they are considering conception. Those who choose to stop MTX and proceed to pregnancy should be advised against conception within 6 months of taking MTX. In the event of conception within this time, full counselling and close fetal monitoring should be offered. "
Also:
"MTX treatment is unlikely to have a major effect on short- or long-term fertility in men and women, but a washout period of 6 months cessation of treatment prior to conception is advisable to prevent the small chance of chromosomal abnormalities in offspring"
Unfortunately, this site will not let me post a URL but the article is entitled "The effects of methotrexate on pregnancy, fertility and lactation." It is from 1999, Volume 92, Number 10, page 551-563.
From what I understand, methotrexate eliminates the folic acid in your body so if you were to conceive soon after the shot it would probably be similar to not having taken prenatal vitamins with folic acid. I think that 6 months is a little extreme but we will try to wait that long in order to give our baby the best chance. For those of you that didn't, I'm sure your pregnancy will be successsful as so many people do not take the vitamins while pregnant and end up with perfect babies. God provides miracles in abundance! =
Answer: I took the M shot last week, on Jan 30th. It was supposed to be the best day of my life since the reason me and my husband went to the doctors office, was to have our initial OB check..
I was supposed to be almost 10 weeks along.. There was no heart beat, the baby measured 6 weeks..and the thing i have never heard before in my life, was that this is a cornual pregnancy! Kind of etopic, still not really in the tube, but on the corner with the tube and the uterus. Dr said, i was so lucky that the baby stopped growing, otherwise i would have ruptured.. I feel like i am so empty.. the pain is not letting me sleep, my emotions are not any less painful. Yesterday i started bleeding, 4 days after taking the shot, i dont know how long is this going to take, when will the pain go away.. I had another miscarriage last year, they never found the baby, i just bled for entire month and than once the HCG got down to 0 i got my period and that was it. This time i had to take the shot, the baby had stopped developing 3 weeks ago and in order to avoid surgery, i took the shot! first blood test HCG was 10.000, than the second was 7.000 and the test from yesterday..well, i dont know about that one, i can not get in touch with the Dr, neither have the hospital attempted to call me. I feel as if im all alone.. Has anyone experienced "the cornual" pregnancy? Or anything like my case? =
Answer: Hi galiondi,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have never heard of a cornual ectopic pregnancy either. As I posted earlier, I had an ectopic pregnancy, but the dr. says the baby was growing in my ovary. My guess is that there's a problem with my tubes (blockage or something).
I also felt empty inside after my loss, and that is to be expected. It's sad to say, but I felt like no one in the world could have felt like I did when the dr. said that I had to have that shot to make the baby stop growing. Even to this day, I still feel pain. I guess that's why I am so eager to get pregnant. But, I have not had any luck.
I actually started bleeding before the shot, because of the ectopic. That's what alerted the dr. to do blood tests and a vaginal/pelvic ultrasound. I remember after that, I asked the nurse if I could go out the back door because I was a mess, once I found out and I didn't want all those happy Moms-to-be that were sitting in the waiting room to see me crying uncontrollably.
Hopefully you won't bleed for long and the pain will subside soon. You will always hold a special place in your heart and soul for your unborn baby. You are not alone. Anytime you want to talk, just send a message. This is a good form of therapy...at least it is for me.
God Bless and Baby Dust! =
Answer: hi babygirl74:)
how long has it been since you took the shot? Have you been trying for a baby for a very long time? Do you have kids already?:) I dont have abny children yet, i want to, so bad.. but i guess we dont always get what we want ..when we want it.
I was hoping i get better now, relax, snowboard a little and try to get pregnant again..Dr called today, my HCG is gone down to 5.000 and something, i have another blood test tomorrow and i have a Dr's appointment on Thursday. I still bleed, but its little, last night i actually slept without taking any pain killers.. i really hope i get better soon, and get down to work , lol.. Hugs to all of you, going through this, and watch out for that baby dust :) =
Answer: Hello Galiondi!
I found out I was pregnant on October 2nd and on October 8th, I found out it was ectopic and had the shot the same day. A baby is the only thing that has been missing in me an my husband's lives, since we both had a child of our own from previous relationships. I so desperately want to have another baby. My daughter is almost 16. I have not been able to get pregnant for some reason since then, until October 2007. It was a total shock for all of us, because I actually thought that I couldn't even get pregnant since we had not used protection since we have been together. I have never taken birth control or anything.
know that since you said you don;t have any kids now, you really want to have one. That can be tough, but keep having faith that your day will come soon. I am praying for you so that your body, soul and mind can heal after going through this ordeal. I keep having the same questions in my head right now as to whether or not the same thing will happen when I get pregnant again. I do not want to ever go through that again. You will make it, and so will I. I wish you the best during your Dr. visit and blood tests. Be sure to write down any questions you are thinking of right now and ask your dr. I made an appt with another dr. I am hoping to have the test done with the dye to see if my tubes are blocked. Wish me luck!
We are WOMAN, we are STRONG, and we will CONCEIVE!!! Baby Dust to you all!!! =
Answer: I ended up having a surgery, on February, 21, the HCG was going down steady, but after my first metho shot, the sac actually grew and it never went down. I was at risk of rupturing and on Feb, 21st, i ended up in surgery. It was hard to recover, i lost almost 2 liters of blood during the laparoscopy , thank GOD and my doctors, i still have my tubes and everything, the surgery was successful. Now almost 3 months after the surgery and almost 4 months since my metho shot, i am suspecting i might be pregnant and i have not stopped freaking out for the last few days.. Still havent done HSG, as my doctor wanted me to do after my 3rd period since the laparoscopy, and i am really scared, becuase i have 4 stitches on my uterus.. Has anyone gotten pregnant sooner that the Dr recommended? Especially after surgery? =
Answer: galiondi, how is it going? are you pregnant? update when you can..I am still ttc after the metho and the hsg in January. Not pregnant yet. hope to be very soon... =
Answer: Hey Kristin72 :) I am 5 days late, my period is still "debating", lol I have had some weird pains for 3 weeks now and like 10 days ago i noticed i have Montgomery tubercules on my breasts, around the niples. I took a test 2 days before the date of my expected period, it was negative. Im still late though, so maybe i will take another test in about 2-3 days. We are buying a house and everything is so hectic, i havent had much time to think about me being late..my husband says, with our "luck" we are most likely pregnant. lol I will keep you all posted :) Have a great time ttc-ing =
Answer: I received a metho shot on 03/29/08 and now suspecting that I might be pregnant. I'm so scared because I was told not to get pregnant for 3 months. I was on the pill but I gained so much weight after 2 months that I went off it. What do I do? I will forever be blaming myself if there's something wrong with the baby. =
Answer: Alia,You will be fine..and what's done is done..Many women conceive successfully with no problems even after the metho. The metho is suppose to leave your body within48 hours. Are you taking prenatals..if you are not make sure you get your folic acid asap becasue it is the folic acid that is depleted wit metho...you should be fine...have you had a pregnancy test? How many af's have you had since the metho shot? Best of luck to you. Are you seeing a gyno?.~~Galiondi~my fingers are crossed for you I hope you are pregnant! Good luck with your move. I am on cd12 have done my bding cd7,8,10,11. And hopefully again tonight..the dh is away this weekend and that is when I would normally ovulate..hope enough bd'ing b4 he leaves. All the best and Babydust to us all!!!!!!!!!!! =
Answer: Hello, I have a question for everyone. My levels were really low at the highest they were 183 and I also had the shot. My hcg levels are now 92 and our Dr. told us once they get to 0 we are okay to start trying again. I have to get blood taken every monday to see where I stand. Any success stories on getting pregnant after this situation. All I have seen on here is no one getting pregnant? Please give me hope guys! =
Answer: I am at the same arena as Melissa. I have been given methotraxate shot on July 5th, my hcg was going down after that but as with the bleeding I also got a severe pain on 21st July and had a labroscopy and needed to remove my right tube due to it's being ruptured. My bleeding stopped after the 4th day of the surgery. No doctor visit yet, next week I have a visit with him. After that I may know how long I need to wait. Frankly speaking I have one daughter and had not that craving for a baby but after loosing one for ectopic now I am longing so much for a baby. I also have no idea when it's safe to try again. Wish all of you all my bests. =
