Question: Are there any natural ways to increase the odds of twins? I want to have a place where we can share information about ways we can swing the odds in our favor. I am not talking about clomid, so please no lectures. Thanks! ?

| Answer: I have heard that yams, not just sweet potatoes...but a wild yam supplement could increase your chance. Also, there is Vitex. = |
| Answer: I too have heard some very positive things about Vitex and Yams.... Keep in mind that real, true Yams aren't the things you see in your grocery store. Those are actually sweet potatoes. I bought my yams off of an internet store when we were ttc. = |
| Answer: Thanks for the reply Mama Bean and K . Were your wild yams in a pill form? Thats what I have. I dont know if it will help with twins, but if not the wild yams have many other positive effects. Thats the great thing about hebal supplements. = |
| Answer: Nope.. mine were actual whole yams. If I remember correctly, it is the skin that has all the nutrient properties... although i can't be positive. = |
| Answer: That's what I have heard also, that's its the skin of the wild yams that you want. Mama-bean, do you mind sharing where you would even buy wild yams on the internet? I have never heard of that before...learn something new everyday. I know you can buy Wild Yam pills, but I dont know if those contain the skins though. I'm starting Vitex next month and will be taking it for 6 months, so we'll see if it works. If anything...I would just love for it to regulate my cycle...since its crazy! = |
| Answer: I've seen you on various threads...never quite caught the facts of how many children you have and whether any of them ARE twins. = |
| Answer: Honestly, I don't remember... It was a holistic ( sp) type store that had a local branch, and they had a web site that I ordered from.... Maybe check your local herbal store, natural foods store? I have 1 daughter, and before we finally went the medical rout to help with infertility issues we tried all of of these herbal remedys. I did notice that my ovulation was a bit more frequent when I ate yams ALL THE TIME. They get boring after a while! so I would think that they would indeed help if you already ovulated and wanted twins... = |
| Answer: Mama Bean are you still trying for more children? Thanks for the info I will look for the whole wild yam, my supplement is wild yam root... Maybe if I think it is helping it really will, the placebo effect... = |
| Answer: Yes, we are currently ttc #2, and have been for around 6 months. I'm pretty stubborn, so I will continue with this herbal rout for the next 6 months before resorting, once again, to a prescription... I'm really hopeful that it will work this time! If I learn anything new, find any great websites, etc, I'll be sure to let you know! = |
| Answer: There's also a tincture for the wild yams. It's in a bottle with a dropper and you just squeeze it in hot water to make a tea and you can sip it all day. It doesn't taste that bad. You can also get a chaste tree berry (vitex) one and drink them together, but you shouldn't use the wild yams until AFTER you ovulate because I've heard that they essentially force out ripe eggs from your ovaries, so you don't wanna do it until your body is already ready to O. Hope that helps! Oh and I got the tinctures from a local health store but I'm sure its online too. = |
| Answer: Mama Bean, good luck I really hope rhe natural rout works for you this time, but if not it is good to know that science is there to help out. I really admire you trying the natually first, most would be too impatient. AMANDA thank you for the info.....I did not know that about the yams. I have also heard that tinticures work better than pills, so I will look for that,
= |
| Answer: Just wanted to let you know.. I've been drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea 2X a day for a few months now, and hubby has been taking a good Multi-vitamin as well as wearing Boxers, and this morning we got a positive pregnancy test. Could be a fluke of nature ( I ovulate very sporatically) or it could be the tea.... But we are pregnant! = |
| Answer: WOW, how exciting Mama-Beans!!! CONGRATS!!!! = |
| Answer: Yeah Mama Beans! That is wonderful!! I am so happy for you! Keep us posted! Congratulations!! = |
| Answer: I have been researching Wild Yam and it's value when trying to concieve twins. I have read some conflicting information. Firstly it seems that some types of Yam are actually traditionally used as a contraceptive, not so handy if you're trying to conceive.
Check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/p-eople/highlights/010607_twins.shtml- for details of a West African village that has a high instance of twins and attributes it to Agida, a yam like vegetable. I have not yet found Agida available as a supplment yet. It seems it you are taking Wild Yam you should only take it after ovulation.
I would go along with the Vitex tip though.
Hope this helps = |
| Answer: why to you need to take yams after ovulation = |
| Answer: In response to the Wild Yams...the insurance company Aetna Intellhealth web reports the following so be cautious once you get pregnant.
Pregnancy And Breast-Feeding
Wild yam cannot be recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding because of the risk of birth defects or spontaneous abortion. Pregnant women should avoid tinctures because of the high alcohol content (15 percent to 90 percent). = |
| Answer: To Mama-bean: A big Congratulations! How are you feeling with the pg? I do hope all goes well for you. How far along do you think you are? = |
| Answer: 8 weeks 4 days along, just nausious and tired chasing my 1 year old around.. thanks for asking! = |
| Answer: Congrats mama-beans on your BFP!!!! That is wonderfull, I wish you a very successfull 9 months!!!!! What is red raspberry supposed to do? = |
| Answer: I would like to know at what time of the month do you need to take wild yam in order to help me ovulate. Also will wild yam help me ovulate more than one egg. = |
| Answer: I did found a webpage were the said somthing abaut wild yam creame. You should use it at the 15.day if you like to get pregnent with twins. But i dont know how long.i should use it or when to stop.Sorry for my english.I am german and I am working on it. = |
| Answer: I need to know when I should start to take Folate, and vitex. is it about 6 months before I want to be pregnant? help! = |
| Answer: Hello Everyone, Glad to hear someone else is trying to go about twining Naturally instead of using Clomid. I have been reaserching the Natural ways to increase the odds of twining and many site include increased dairy intake, folate and calcuim suppliments and someone also told me about Rasberry Leaf Tea. Not sure if any of this works, so if anyone can confirm any of these please do! Good Luck! :-) = |
| Answer: BTW mama-bean - Congratulations on the BFP... are you pregnant with one or multiple?? Good Luck! = |
| Answer: I have received information from a lady which deals in natural medicine and this is what she has suggested....Herbs such as the red raspberry leaf and chaste tree berry are most used (by the lady) along with green tea, nettle leaf, ladies mantle and evening primrose... Good Luck and baby dust to all! Mel :-) = |
| Answer: I don't know how old the rest of you ladies are, but I am a young mother who is looking to get pregnant with my next or last child(ren). I would like to have twins, but I don't know if the chances make it too small for me because I am younger. I would really like to naturally have twins.... really excited. I will be trying to concieve next September/October. Any advice ladies? = |
| Answer: Hi Aalysa, when I was pregnant last year, I took Vitex (chasteberry) black cohosh, and evening primrose oil along with a prenatal vitamin and got pregnant the next month. I also BD'd with my husband every day, and put a pillow under my hips for a half hour and I drank lots of water and used OPKs so I knew when Oday was.......unless you have another problem preventing you from getting pregnant there's no reason why you should be pregnant soon:) = |
| Answer: MommaD - Did you fall pregnant with a singleton or multiple? I have heard that Vitex is used to regulate periods and evening primrose has also been recommended to help with twins as well. I have been told to take red raspberry leaf tea as well and have Yam Root herbs to have as tea which is also supposed to increase the chances. Dairy foods are also recommended so drinking lots of milk and eating lots of yoghurt. Anyone have any other ideas?? Thanks and baby dust to you all!! = |
| Answer: I keep finding conflicting information about Wild Yam Supplements. I started taking after ovulation, but when do I stop? Heard it will cause spontaneous abortion..?? Now I am scared I made a terrible mistake. Please advise. Thanks! = |
| Answer: kzarts - I have not heard about any problems about Wild Yam suppliments. I would check with your doctor fist as they would know what should not be taken. If you do a search on google looking up safe herbs for pregnancy there should be some information about what you should not be taking. From what I can remember there was nothing saying that Wild Yam suppliments are unhealthy or bad for pregnancy. Good Luck! Mel = |
| Answer: LauraEssary - Vitex - Both extensive clinical studies, as well as over two thousand years of use in folk medicine, have proven the effectiveness of this remedy. It works by stimulating and normalizing the pituitary gland, which regulates the balance of estrogen and progesterone in the body.
In a normal menstrual cycle estrogen is higher before ovulation and progesterone is higher after. Many women don't realize that an imbalance of these hormones can lead to the entire range of symptoms associated with PMS and menopause! Vitex usually has the effect of enhancing progesterone and decreasing estrogen levels.
It regulates your cycle should you be having any problems... Baby Dust to you Mel = |
| Answer: Hi guyz I
ve been searching from google , woman24.com etc at last I'v efound a place, Ladies Last year I've had a loss in OCT and am waiting for at least up to April to start ttc'ing again. I would love to have twins and am glad to hear these grewat news. I will be stocking this w/.end .1 more ? Which one of all is the best in concieving twins??? = |
| Answer: Hi- I've been reading the posts and have also researched increasing my chances of having twins without the use of clomid or using birth control then abruptly stopping. I'm 33 years old and my husband and I lost our first child in September at 5 months, a rare miscarriage - thornoplasic dysplasia...emotionally devastated and physically tormented as I experienced full labor for 4 days with no epidural-bad nurses playing God . My husband is certainly alive and kicking at 15 years older than me but after such a loss and grief I wrestle with going through more than one more pregnancy and have desired twins since I can remember. Not in my family and certainly in my prayers but I would like to naturally increase the chances. I see an acupuncturist for my sinuses and that increases fertility on its own but I'd like to know when to begin eating more wild yams? Any advice? I have been successful in the last three months in tracking my cycle after the go ahead in December to try for a family again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Much success in your pregnancies and in the trying! = |
| Answer: Hello Ladies, I would not recommend taking Clomid unless being monitored by a doctor. This can be dangerous and can do more harm than good. The odds only increase slightly anyway. I am currently seeing a Chinese Herbalist who is giving me natural herbs to increase fertility. Obviously they can't guarantee twins but one of my friends went this way and ended up with boy/girl twins. It is much safer than taking prescription medication without proper monitoring by a doctor. Good Luck and will let you know in the future how we went! Mel = |
| Answer: Zera-
If you don't mind, what did the herbalist recommend? Is there a web site? I always read your posts and it seems you have really done your research! Are you trying yet? Good luck! Melanie = |
| Answer: melpalmer7 - Damn it, I had just written a whole long post and it didn't work :-(!!
Here is my email address melanie underscore zerafa at hotmail dot com. Please feel free to contact me should you want any information. I am not exactly sure what herbs I am taking, I get the herbs in a powder form from the Chinese Herbalist. These are taken in the morning and the evening and are disolved in boiling water. Not the best tasting stuff but not all that bad. He gives me 1 week of herbs, to be taking in the 1st week of your cycle to help mature your eggs, and then in the 2ns week he gives me another set of herbs that help release more than one egg. I am currently charting my cycle on fertiliyfriend dot com to learn my cycle and so that I know what day I am O. It's also very empowering knowing what's going on with my body! Please email me if you want any other information. I am located in Melbourne, Australia. My herbalist doesn't have a website but there are heaps of Chinese Herbalists around, just tell them what you want. Good Luck! Mel = |
| Answer: Hi Ladies, my faincee and myself are relly looking forward to trying to have a child after we are married this summer. I am 45 she will be 40. I had a vasectomy at 24 so I amy going to have a reversal. We really want twins so I found my way here, So from what I am reading from all of you is that redraspberry leaf tea and Chaste tree tea as well as Vitex will give us a leg up on have in TWINS WE WANT TWINS! I am also going to buy here and ovulation monitoring kit because her cycle is so out of wack. She has already been tested to make sure she is still fertile prior to my reversal. She has a set of fertnal twins in her famiies history. So I need all the support and info to help GOd and us through this difficult thing = |
| Answer: Hi, I just want to encourage you about Vitex through my own experience.... I am 35 years old and my husband is 50 years old- we decided we wanted a child together in Feb on 2007.... By the way my period has always been out of wack and unreliable.... Well Jan. 24th I started taking Vitext 250 mg xs 2 per day and Jan. 29th I got my period which was REALLY odd because I had it 18 days prior in Jan., Anyways, we used ovulation test and Feb. 6th and 7th we had intercourse(fertile days).... On Feb. 18th I took an early pregnancy test and came positive- that was ONLY 11 days after intercourse.... What's even more incredible now I'm approx. 8 weeks and I honestly think i am pregnant with twins- they do run in my family on my mothers side and fathers actually.... Can't wait to find out from doctor... = |
| Answer: CONGRATS Ourgreatestgift! What a wonderful story. Hi RoosterWA, I also agree about the Virtex it's great for fertility, somehow gives you exactly what you need regulating you cycle. I found a great website (tryingtoconceive dot com) that is not only good for us girls but has natural supplements for our hubbies as well. (I think its refreshing to see how involved you are in your wife's fertility) It truly is a team effort. My DH just recently had a Vas Reversal in Oct and after taking the supplements the results of his Semen Analysis were surprising, his urologist couldn't believe it. The results of the analysis showed the total motile sperm was 100.122 mill/ejac that's 100 million mobile sperm, you only need 10 mil to make a baby. In short, the concentration, mobility, and morphology were way above average, the test was done at 3 1/2 months after the reversal. Our urologist was great, and the price for the procedure was very afordable at only $1500 and he garatees his work. Wishing you all the luck and congrats again outgreatestgift! You know they say when you get your BFP so early it posibly could be more that one in there, good luck! = |
| Answer: Thank you Veda.... And I wish you the best as well.... Will have to wait and see for now- I am pretty excited.... Lots of symptoms here too like since day one literally nauseated, smells bother me, chest hurts, stomach out there already... Actually i am and was just hapy that we were pregnant and the reason why I'm thinking twins is because I guess that is the explanation I came up with because this pregnancy is completely different from my other 4.... :) = |
| Answer: I did a lot of research on this subject, not sure what all has been discussed but this is what I found. Yams are supposed to help, Vitex is known as the herbal form of clomid. I took and 1 time and concieved twins, unfortunately I lost 1 of them early on. I also read that if you increase your folic acid a mo or more before you get pg, I did that and I think it helped. GL = |
| Answer: hello everyone. i am new to this site and just wanted to find out if anyone has gotten pregnant with twins using any of these natural options? we have been ttc since jan. and I would really like to have twins. thanks. = |
| Answer: mnastasi I did get pg with twins while taking Vitex. Its used to regulate your cycle and also to help with PMS symptoms. It caused me to release 2 eggs. GL = |
| Answer: Hi ladies I've started folic and green tea, rasberry and have just stoped birth pills what are the odds of me getting twins Oops almost forgot my mother had twins and my mother in law also have twins! What are my chances = |
| Answer: Hey what is the difference between Ovulex and Vitex? Does anyone know if one is better then the other? I know Ovulex is rediculously expensive and Vitex is fairly cheap.. But I'd like to know which is better.... Also, Can you take them at the same time maybe? Do you still take prenatals while trying or just Vitex or Ovulex?
Any info is appreciated! = |
| Answer: vitex is chasteberry an herb. I cant seem to find any info on what ovulex contains. I think Ovulex has a $ back guarantee...So it might be worth a try. I would try to find out what the ingredients are in it before using it though..Be sure to do your own research..GL everyone = |
| Answer: Vitex seems to have worked for many people including myself.... It's effects are suppose to be best having taken it for awhile however in my case worked in one cycle .... :) Lorie Ann = |
| Answer: it worked for me within 2 weeks. My cycle before taking it was anov. Though I did try it again after my last dd and it didnt do anything. But I really think me being on a Low carb diet at the time messed my cycle up. It is supposed to take effect over a 3mo period, it basically is supposed to regulate your hormones that you can have a reg cycle. = |
| Answer: Lcoots-
Just wondering if you had any side effects with the vitex. I have taken it for 3 days an have had the worst cramping. I am on my period but was't having cramping b4. (I'm still going to take it though :) thanks for all your imput! = |
| Answer: Well I WOULD NOT take it during af..I started mine the day af left. I read a lot of conflicting info on taking it while on af, that I just opted NOT to...Its a personal decision, but I didnt ahve any side effects from it. I only took it for about 12 days before O'in and then I made sure I stopped taking it cause I wasnt sure what affect it would have on a popped egg..lol GL = |
| Answer: Hi i heard about Vitex. i want twins SOO bad. i have for a long time now. i wanted to start taking vitex but i didnt knwo if it would hurt my daughter cause im breastfeeding her. wil it hurt her at all. how long do i have to be taking it befor more then one egg drops....i wanted to start taking it soon cause when she turns one we want to try again.....any other info on it would be appriciated too. Oh i also heard that it will increase my milk supply too is that true does anyone know., and how good is this vitex. does it really work on helping with twins..i do have a few twins in my family.
thanks = |
| Answer: well it really depends, the milk supply could go either way. How often are you nursing your dd? I know I was nursing my son only about 3 times a day and no night nursing and it caused my milk to dry up. He was well over a yr so it wasnt a problem for me. It can cause your milk to turn sour which is what they call weaning milk. But Ive known many women who had a really good supply and were bf quite often that it didnt affect them. The herb won't hurt your dd. Its not a guarantee you will release 2 eggs, its more to get your cycle reg and prepare your hormones. Have you had ppaf yet? If not I think you should wait till you ahve at least 1 af before trying vitex, just my personal opinion...GL = |
| Answer: my dh and i have two kids together before he had a V. we decided to have a VR. so we did now i really want twins, and i'm reading conflicting statements regarding vitex evening primerose, and yams , what if we have no issues Oing, can we still use these products? = |
| Answer: where can you get vitex or do you have to get it your family doctor...please help... = |
| Answer: You can pretty much get Vitex from any chemist. It's a herbal suppliment that is supposed to help reulate your cycle. I personally think that twins happens out of luck. Unless you are on IVF or something like Clomid (only recommended by prescription from your Dr) then the chances are low! I tried Chinese Herbs but it made my cycle unpredictable so now we are just trying for a healthy baby! Best of luck! = |
| Answer: I have also been doing some research on having twins naturally. My husband and I lost our baby at birth in June and are about ready to start TTC again. We would love to have twins but don't want to undergo any medical treatment. I have been researching the Wild Yams and have found that you don't want to take Wild Mexican Yams because they are used for a birth control. The Wild Yams from Africa are the one's they recommend also know as a cassava root. It's supposed to make a woman hyperovulate so you are putting out more than one egg. And also...can you get Vitex at a health food store or do you have to go through a doctor?? = |
| Answer: If you have a vitamin store in your area, that would be the best place to look. Sometimes Vitex is referred to as chasteberry or agnus castus. I took that and my cycle was wonderfully normal. But then I stopped and it went back out of cycle. The good thing about Vitex is no side effects unless your allergic to the plant itself. = |
| Answer: Thanks Teddyfinch...I appreciate the information. My cycles are for the most part pretty accurate but my big question is more if the Vitex is for naturally enhancing fertility or just for regulation of the cycles....??? And if anyone has any extra info about the yams please share... = |
| Answer: flaluvbug3- sorry about your loss. I lost my little one at 36 weeks. There is nothing harder. May I ask what happened? = |
| Answer: SAMEHERE...I'm also sorry about your loss...and no there isn't anything harder than losing a child. I was scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks and the night before I went in the baby was moving and very active so naturally I thought everything was fine. The next day my husband and I were getting everything ready and I hadn't paid attention to the movement until we go to the hopital and it dawned on me that I hadn't felt my little Lexi, which was her name, move that day. I thought that maybe she was just getting positioned or something but when I went to labor and delivery and they were trying to hook me up to the monitors they couldn't find her heartbeat and then ultrasound tech came in to confirm that she was dead. They said she had to have died that morning around 6:00 am. I still had to have the labor induced and give natural birth to her...which was to most hurtful thing in the world. When she was born the cord was wrapped around her feet in a figure 8 about 3 times and was tied in a true knot, so that was the cause of her death. She was the most perfect baby and was almost an identical replica of my first little girl who is now 2. Here we were preparing to bring her home and instead we had to prepare a funeral for her. I think I was more in shock than anything because I made sure I done everything right and I guess that just goes to show that when you think that things like that can't happen to you, they do out of nowhere. Thankfully I have a really supporting family and everyone was there for me when I needed them most. I learned that what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger and I guess God just needed another "Angel" so that's where she rests. Fortunatly my husband and I have decided to start trying for another baby the first part of next year. I want time to heal emotionally and physically. If you don't mind me asking, what happened with you? = |
| Answer: Try this... OK, first I have to tell you a short story. I became pregnant and had a miscarriage very early on before any u/s so we will have no way of knowing if it was singleton or multiple. Being in a state of grief, I asked my womens bible study group to pray with me for patience. (they did not know about my situation) They jokingly say "Oh no! Don't pray for patience! Everyone who prays for patience has a child because God does not give you patience, He teaches you patience." So I said back to them, "OK, put my Husband down for patience, too" I conceived twins the very next month! It's not a guarantee that you'll have twins, but it can't hurt! = |
| Answer: SPHINX.....Thank you...Since I am a firm believer in God praying comes naturally to me so I will definately try it. And giving me twins would definately teach me patience...lol...but I'm up for anything. I just want a healthy, happy baby or babies when the time is right. = |
| Answer: Yes, and when you submit your prayer requests be sure to include Patience for you AND your husband... lol = |
| Answer: hey sphinx. where i go to church they don't really have a prayer request to put in, but if you could, could you ask your group to pray for me and all the other ladies. this is so hard on all of us right now and i think we could all use a little more patience to help us through this. my real name's teresa just incase you decide to ^^ = |
| Answer: SPHINX & TEDDYFINCH....Yes please pray for me also...my name is Brooke. oh yeah and my husband...his name is James...Another prayer can never hurt...lol...And yes throughtout this whole experience I guess Patience is kinda the key cause it's going to happen when it's supposed to and not when I think it's supposed to...Good luck to all those trying and baby dust to all. = |
| Answer: I'll pray for lots of little "patiences" for you all! = |
| Answer: Hi I recently found this thread and I'm thankful for the info on here but it doesnt state anything about doses for anything. I got the tincture form of vitex and wild yam but should I just use the regular doseage instructions on the bottles or do something different, same with the primrose etc, can anyone help?
Thanks = |
| Answer: Hey All, just found this site as well. I'm going to look into getting a little more info and then find an Herbalist for some Vitex and Wild Yam and Red Rasberry Leaf Tea and anything else I can get my hands on! I have 2 boys, ages 3 1/2 and 2. Got pregnant super easy both times but this time I'm hoping for twins...gonna see what happens. First step is having my IUD removed. Any advice for how long I should wait to start trying to concive after I begin my supplements? I'd rather not get pregnant as soon as my IUD is out before they have a chance to work and it be a single! = |
| Answer: was your IUD hormonal? = |
| Answer: No, my iud is not hormonal. I have an apt mid Feb for it to be removed and when I made the apt I asked my OB's nurse how long I should wait b4 trying she said really just 1 cycle. But, ok, should I start taking the supplements and drinking the tea now and use a back up method after I get my iud out? I was thinking of using spermicide for at least 2 cycles, but what do you all think? = |
| Answer: I think 1 cycle is good to take your supplements. There is no reason to wait longer because of the IUD. If it were hormonal then you might want to wait until you get "back to normal" but you should be fine. GL = |
| Answer: so you think 1 cycle is long enough for the supplements to (hopefully) work for my twin babies?! = |
| Answer: I think 1 cycle is long enough for you to get the supplements in your body. It won't guarantee twins, though but good luck. I'm not sure if this will work either, but this is what I did. After BD, I closed my eyes and imagined eggs being fertilized by sperm. After that, I imagined what it would look like for an egg to split. I kept trying to visualize these images in my mind. I conceived an identical set and a fraternal, but only had fraternal twins because one of the identicals did not develope a heartbeat and was reabsorbed into the body. Scroll up and read my post about praying for patience also... lol... I think that works, too. = |
| Answer: some good advice! thanks so much! i'll try to keep you posted! = |

| Answer: ehow.com gives a nice summary:
1Step One Click to enlarge
Fertility Awareness is key to conceiving twins
Learn Fertility Awareness and how to monitor the female cycle to pinpoint the optimal time for intercourse. Having sex at the fertile time of the cycle is necessary to learn how conceive twins (or even one baby).
2Step Two Click to enlarge
Take folic acid to help conceive twins naturally
Take folic acid daily to conceive twins. Folic acid is important for any healthy pregnancy, and it has also been shown to increase the likelihood of conceiving twins--an additional one woman out of 176 taking folic acid will bear twins, as compared to women not taking the supplement.
3Step Three Click to enlarge
Cassava Root (Image courtesy International Institute of Tropical Agriculture)
Eat cassava root, a type of wild yam found in Africa. In a region in Africa where cassava is a staple of the local diet, women have the highest rate of twins found anywhere in the world. Many nutrition researches agree that eating this yam is how to conceive twins.
4Step Four Click to enlarge
Drink milk--it may factor in how to conceive twins
Drink milk and eat beef to increase the odds of having twins. According to Dr Gary Steinman, lead scientist in a medical study of twins, women who have a milk-based diet are more likely to conceive twins naturally than their vegan counterparts. It is thought that natural properties in milk may stimulate the ovaries, encouraging the production of multiple eggs for conception.
5Step Five Click to enlarge
Breastfeed while you TTC twins
Keep nursing your infant or toddler while you try to conceive twins naturally. According to one study, women who are still breastfeeding and yet fertile are slightly more likely to produce twins.
6Step Six Click to enlargeGain a little weight. Women with slightly higher fat percentages and those who are a little overweight are more likely to have twins. Don't overdo it, however--your health is especially important during pregnancy.

Have a family history of fraternal twins. This one is out of your control, but if the mother has fraternal twins in her family, she is more likely to have twins of her own. You can learn how to conceive twins (or improve the chances of conceiving twins) without a family history, but it helps.

| Answer: well I conceived mine naturally and didn't know how to tell when I was ovulating at that time, didn't take folic acid, don't know what cassava root is nor do I eat yams, I am lactose intolerant (therefore I do not drink milk) and I also eat very minimal meat after being a vegan for 6 years. I was underweight when I conceived the twins. I have a lower than average body fat percentage (yes I had it tested with water displacement) The twins were my first so I was not breastfeeding but I do have a family history of fraternal twins. = |

| Answer: i have enjoyed reading everything that you have posted. i have a 4 year old son and a son who is almost 2. i want more children, but am waiting for their father to get done with school. two years away. i have no problem getting pregnant, but i have had more than 10 pregnancies. all but the two ending in miscarriage. i have also had laser surgery on my cervix for cancer. i want two more children, but my boy's father doesnt want to go through multiple failed pregnancies. so i am hoping to find a way to have twins. any info is great and would be greatly appreciated. any healthy pregnancy and birth would be great, but we would love twin girls

| Answer: Hello ladies! I don't know how I missed seeing this thread! I've been doing lots of research myself about ttc twins NATURALLY. I will tell you a bit about myself, but first:
sisifrank - I, too, was confused about the "wild yams" and when I looked at pictures of the wild African Yams (Cassava Root), it appeared to be more like Yucca (Yuca) instead of Camotes. When I researched "Cassava Root," it said it was also called Yucca. Yucca is a very common root in Latin America (especially South America). So now I'm really confused about what a wild yam really is - the ones eat by the tribe in West Africa.
My stats: I am 32 years old, have a 4 year old daughter and a 2 and 1/2 year old son. They are 21 months apart and I would really love to have two more children. I would love to naturally increase my chances of releasing two eggs. I've also researched herbs and foods for my husband - to increase the quality and mobility of his sperm. We've never had problems conceiving, my cycles are very regular and I tracked my cycle 3 months before trying to conceive my son. It took two cycles to conceive him. I researched Shettles method to try to conceive him.
I read so many conflicting things about Vitex, but after reading through this thread, I'm thinking that I may go t | | | | | |
