I am a fraternal twin myself, and I have had a strange feeling that I may be having twins myself. (This is my second pregnancy). I am 9 weeks and 4 days and I had my first prenatal doctor's appointment yesterday, and my doctor said that I am not having twins due to the size of my uterus, unless there is something wrong. It seems like he isn't really ruling out the fact that I may be having twins, but I just want to know, could I still be having twins if my uterus isn't larger than normal??? ↓

My uterus measured on target at 12 weeks. Most twin moms won't show bigger until the 2nd trimester. So at 12 weeks, my uterus was measuring 12 weeks. By 16 weeks, it was measuring at 20 weeks. Unless you have an u/s, your DR can't rule out twins. ↑

I didnt find out I was having twins until I had an u/s. Your doc didnt give you an u/s at your first visit? I had one at my forst visit and thats how I knew it was twins, otherwise I had no clue. I'm really surprised that thay didnt give you an u/s since you are a fraternal twin yourself. Who knows, let us know how it turns out. Good Luck ↑

If you are a fraternal twin then you would have about a 1 in 17 chance of twins. I forget where I got the info but I remember it because I wanted to know what my chances were of having twin grandbabies later on. GL with your pregnancy. When I was pregnant with twins my first measurement recorded was 19cm at 15 weeks. They never measured before that but we found out it was twins at 7-8 weeks by ultrasound. ↑

I guess I need to wait till my next Dr. appt at 14 weeks or just wait till he sends me for an ultrasound which won't be till 18 weeks. I guess since I am younger (27) they don't see a risk with me, so they don't want to bombard me with ultrasounds. ↑

If you are having twins though, you will need that extra care. I would bring it up to your OB and it would be only 1 extra u/s if there is only one baby in there. Or, if you do the AFP test and you are pregnant with twins, the test will most likely come back with a high positive for something since twins makes the test all wonky. ↑

Hello I found out that I was preggo on March 27 and when I finally got Medicaid I made an appointment with my OBGYN on May 6 and like the first prenatal visit they did a pap smear and everything else you know withdraw blood and they never mention about my uterus was big or not they just told me it was normal but that they where going to do a ultrasound because with the doppler they could not hear the baby heartbeat so they schedule a ultrasound which was on May 15 and I dont go to the OBGYN til this Tuesday coming up. They ultrasound lady told me that I was 3 months preggo..................... I was very happy, sad you name it.................... This is not my first pregnancy I have 3 wonderful boys under the age of 6. They could not tell if they where identical or freternal they are to small for the months that I have............ Hello. I'm not sure where to post this question so I guess I'll try here!..... I'm just reading some posts on here and wondering about hcg levels. I had mine done only once so far this pg and at 4wks3dys it was 1100. I know that numbers aren't everything, but I have been completely exausted, horrible nausea, and my bb's are very very sore. I was like this with my daughter, but this is worse. My boys I was just a little extra tired, very slight nausea. But I was just curious! :) ↑

Sorry, I forgot to ask if this # is low, high, or right on? I have also had 2 m/c with my last 2 pg and I know my #'s then were a lot lower than this one and I was further along. Thanks in advance! ↑
