Question about milk

I am not sure if I've ever been pregnant before. There was a time during my first marriage that I thought I was pg, but my ex hit me in the stomach and I started bleeding heavily for about a month. Well, if I was pg I would have been around 3 months along. My breasts had grown, no periods, I had a small tummy, but never had the guts to test. Well, after that time, I would leak a little clearish stuff from my breasts, but that went away until now. My breasts have been hurting SO much and I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow. i know that's a bit early, but I guess if you think about it, if I was pregnant before, I might produce milk earlier right? So is it possible it could be milk? Well, not milk, but the early stuff because they will hurt and I kinda pressed down on one of them to look at the nipple tip (make sure it wasn't on fire because it sure felt like it) and some of the clearish stuff came out. Not a lot, mind you, just a tiny bead of it. But I'm actually quite nervous. Now, I have read that heavy nipple stimulation can cause this too and my husband is a boob man and it's something I enjoy, so I suppose that could cause it too, but why does this scary stuff only happen on weekends when my doctor isn't there! Help?

Teddy, I think you're doing just fine! My best friend said she was leaking colostrum really bad around 15 weeks and it lasted throughout her pregnancy. I never did and only the week before ds was born did I notice anything coming out at all and even that was just like a drop. The nipple stimulation can cause contractions but I was told by my dr/midwife that it's only a concern if it's excessive and toward the end of things. Give your doctor a call if you're concerned, but it sounds like you're doing great! Enjoy your pregnancy and I hope everything goes well. I've seen your name around; you had complications getting pregnant, right? Does it seem real yet? CONGRATS! Enjoy your time with your man too, because it seems like after baby (at least for a while) it turns into "quick, we've got five minutes!" lol Hope you were able to get a hold of someone at the docs to talk to. Motherhood is awesome, but some days I feel like all I ever do is worry, worry, worry!

ty i did call my doc and the nurse said as long as my nipples weren't warm to the touch (psh as if. i'm a walking furnace right now) and no puss or blood that i should be fine. i'm just tired of the pain lol. i did have a hard time getting pregnant. 3 rounds of clomid worked and i had 1 good follicle and one monster one and i think both tried to implant and i had heavy bleeding at first and we thought i had a m/c but two weeks later we had a little trooper in there with a heartbeat and everything so we're cautious, but definitely enjoying ourselves now. especially now that i'm feeling little barrel rolls lol. u/s on the 16th to hopefully see a boy or girl =D

Well, congrats! After all you went through to have this baby, I hope you're having a smooth pregnancy. lol on the furnace comment. I was 5 + months pregnant in Florida during the summer and I thought I was dying!!! :) I hear you on the pain. My 6 month old ds is trying to teeth 5 teeth at once...they're a whole lot more tender now than they were when I was pregnant! Ha! Try a warm shower or some nipple cream. Good luck on finding out the gender. We opted to be surprised, but since day one I just knew it was a boy. Mother's instinct I guess. I was right this time! When are you due?

i'm due november 17th and i just can't wait to find out the gender because i just want to know everything about this baby. i love to sleep with my hand on my tummy just in case i feel anything and considering what a roller coaster ride it's been i don't want to miss anything. that and i can't find any cute green or yellow outfits lol.

Yes, the selection of yellow and green outfits is slim to say the least. A lot of my family just "knew" that it was a girl, so I kept getting little girly hats, booties, socks and outfits in the mail (we lived several states away at the time). But, being that I was SURE it was a boy, I kept sneaking in little blue hats, booties, socks and outfits! :) I did find a couple really cute neutral outfits at Burlington Coat Factory (not sure if you have one where you live?) I used to sleep with my hand on my belly too. I just remember how incredibly lucky I felt to be experiencing that and I can only imagine the joy for you as you've gone through so much. Enjoy those kicks, punches and chin-ups on your ribs. Post when you find out what you're having!
