I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and had my first blood test last Wed at my doctor. She said my HCG level was at 182 on Wed and wants me to come back for a second test tomorrow. I'm a bit freaked about it since she thought the level was a bit low for 5 weeks. Plus I had spotting on Saturday (after sex on Friday morning though) and it has stopped. I'm so worried about a miscarriage. Anyone have the same thing happen? ↓
The hcg range for a 5 week pregnancy is 19-7,340. Typically they will have you do bloodwork two times in the beginning within 48 hours to make sure it's doubling. I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes your cervix can be more sensitive during pregnancy which would account for the bleeding after sex. Don't worry unless it continues, is bright red or is accompanied by cramping. Of course, you can always call the doctor to put your mind at ease. Congrats on your pregnancy. ↑
