Hi all it's Aiden. It's now May 14th and af still hasn't stopped by for her monthly invasion : ) My cycle was due to start on May 7th/8th. The 7th passed, then the 8th and still no af so I waited a few days to see if maybe I was just going be a little late. By the 11th I still had not started so I took a hpt and it came out negative. Like I said, it's now the 14th and I still haven't started. Is it possible that it may still be too soon for a hpt to be able to detect my preg hormone...could the hormone level be too low for the hpt to detect or if I am preg should the test def show a positive by now? If I conceived on the day that I suspect I did, I'd be about 2 1/2 wks...3 at the most. My breast are tender and def feel bigger and i've had very slight cramping, on and off for about a week and a half or so. As I mentioned in my previous question, my cycle is always accompanied by cramps....they are severe on cycle days 1 & 2 and they kick in once the heavy flow actually starts, which I bleed heaviest on cd 1 & 2 as do pretty much all women I'm sure. I thought the slight cramping meant maybe I was about to start b/c I get short, light cramps 2/3 days before I start and that's how I usually know af is coming, So I've had the cramps, or similar cramping, but still no bleeding. I know all I can do is wait, for either af or a positive hpt and I could also make an appt w/ my gyno and ask for a blood test, but I would like to get a positive hpt before doing that....I don't know if they'll even test you if you haven't had a positive hpt, but I would think they would if you requested it. I know if you go for an annual check up or any particular reason and you're late they tend to want to test you, esp if you're getting a shot, some sort of procedure or anything that could possibly harm the fetus if you are preg.. Like I said, all I can do is wait and I know I can question everyone to death, but noone can give me a def answer or know if I'm preg anymore than I do based on my body, what I know and the info I've shared w/ you all. However, anyone who's been in this situation or one similar to it and has any advice please share!!....also, anyone who just has some insight that they'd like to share or wouldn't mind sharing I'd appreciate any input. To those who read this thanks for letting me ramble...lol! One more thing, about blood test I mentioned before.....I know the answer is prob yes so I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but can you make an appt w/ your gyno and go in just to get a blood test? ↓

some preg women won't get a BFP until the second or third month. my mom didn't know she was preg w me until the third month! crazy, huh? as you said, it depends on your hormone level. i dont know if you can go in for just a blood test, but if you're considering it call your gyno's office and ask. good luck to you, i'm also waitng to see if im preg!! =D ↑

Pretty sure you can call to get a blood test done. Just tell them your situation, that you are late, and the hpt that you took at 7 days late read BFN. I would call the doc, because if they can do it you can get it scheduled, otherwise you will know you will have to try testing again at home. Hope all works out for you. Good Luck. ↑
