Good morning!

Name: Aspen8 | Date: Aug 24th, 2008 10:27 AM
Happy Sunday everyone. Thanks for the new thread Julia. I think I'll copy my most recent post in the old thread here:
TRACY, it was great to see you posting here. And it makes me smile to know you're one of the ladies "lurking" and reading even when they don't have time to post. I have taken a break the last two months and I'm very content with that decision, even though I'm 1,000 years old and the clock is ticking loudly. The timing of the due dates for those two cycles just wasn't right for me and I felt like I wanted to step back and relax a bit anyway. I'm looking forward to hopping back in to ttc mode next cycle though! ***YAY, MARIBEL POSTED! - Hi there, kiddo! We've missed you. Now that you reminded me, I do remember your neck/back problems and your need to take a cycle or two off due to the procedure. Sorry about that. I'm sorry you're hurting so much and I hope this one helps. Like you said....you want to be in the best shape you can be in to be ready to be pregnant! Good luck on Monday. Drop in whenever you can and keep us posted. ***KRISSY - Didja get your laundry done? (Yuk.) =

Hi everyone. Kristin I had my first trimester screening in June and it went great, the doc actually said I could not have better results. Based on the blood sample and NT sono my risk for downs and 2 of the trisomies are that of a 20 year old much less than 1 in 61 just based on my age. So that went really well, I do not do the second tri bw because there are just too many false positives but I do have the level 2 sono and they check for a lot of soft markers for ds and other defects and mine was normal so that was great to hear. Anyway I am almost 22 weeks and sometimes I cannot believe I am pregnant. It is such a blessing and I think at times I am still in shock. We found out it is a boy so this will be my fourth boy, I have one girl. I love boys though. Now we just have to pick a name. Good luck to all of you.

Name: Kristin72 | Date: Aug 24th, 2008 7:11 PM
Hi Ladies!! Carly67..that's just great you had such good results from your screening. I remember with my dd my odds went up to something like 1:23,000 for downs after the triple screen. I was like "is that a good score?? the doc said..ahhh ya..you bet it is!" lol! So great to hear everything is running smoothly. Truly it is such a blessing to finally fall pregnant and to find out things are running smoothly! I wish you all the best with your little guy on the way. You will definitely have your hands full!! What are the ages of your other kids? Aspen, have you still decided to hold of on the ttc for a motnh so that you would not have a May due date during your playoffs? Anyway, I h ope everyone is doing well..girls please don't get too discouraged..it is going to happen for us all...I thought it would never happen for me..and here I am.. You guys are the best!! xo

CARLY - Congratulations! It's fantastic to hear that everything is going so well. ***KRISTIN - Yep, we held off this cycle so we wouldn't have an early May due date but we're raring to go for the next cycle.....just gotta get through the rest of the two week wait for AF, which I'll be happy to see for a change, and then we're back in the game. How are you feeling these days? Any morning sickness, etc.? ***EVERYONE - have a good Monday.

Just a quick hello and then hubby and I are off to take one of our nephews to the zoo. Zoos actually kind of make me just a teeny bit sad ....I feel sorry for the animals all cramped up in their "habitats"....but this is what Jacob wanted to do and we're gonna have a blast! Have a good day, ladies.

texas22 - Sorry I have been MIA. How are you doing? Where are you in your cycle? I did get my pos on the opk test cd 12-14 and I actually ovulated on cd 14. I didn't waste all my test this time around I only tested for 4 days and used 5 test I tested twice on cd 14 once I got the bfn on cd 15 I stop testing. I really tried to bd as much as possible I bd on cd 9-11 and 13-16, 18 & 22. Because like you I could never really time it just right something always came up and this time I didn't even tell him that we have to bd during this time frame so he really don't have a clue and he didn't see me doing the opk test or taking any of the medicine. I tried to be a little more relax so we shall see what happens this cycle. I hope I do get a bfp this cylce cause the clock is ticking LOUD and I would love to surprise him. I did break down and test yesterday after work I was 8dpo and it was NEG. I am not going to test again until maybe the weekend it all depends on how the temps are looking. I did get my implantation dip on cd 21 7dpo and this is the first time this happened my temp went up high yesterday and today it drop down some but I am still above the coverline. I will see what tomorrow brings. Keeping my fingers cross for you. Give me a updated.

JuliaB - Thanks for starting a new thread. How are you feeling? I am so sorry that AF has shown up that stupid withch. What did you decide to do about this cycle? Saying a prayer for you.

Carly67 - Wow it seem like yesterday you were sharing your bfp with us. Rub your belly How are you doing?

Aspen8 - How are you doing? I know what you mean not having a car I haven't had a car since May so I was sharing a car with my daughter she moved out and left me high and dry so for a month I have been buming a ride to both of my jobs and then trying to get back and fourth to the grocery store but I am keeping my faith I will get me a set of wheels real soon.

MaribelsHope - You are so sweet!!! I promise I will not give up. How are you doing? What cd are you on? I am on cd 23 9dpo. I got my implantation dip on cd 21 7dpo so as of now just hanging out to see what is what. AF is due on Sep 3 will give you an update and you do the same.

Aspen 8 - Girl, let me tell you I just need to move into a house again so I can have my washer/dryer back. I went to my friends house on Sat I guess I got there about 8pm and I had to wash 6 loads of clothes and I didn't get home until 3am. She told me I can come and wash clothes every 2 weeks we will see I would be saving money but I can go to the laundry mat and be done with all my laundry in like 2 1/2 hours. I am hoping I will have a car before the end of Sep. Krissy68

Name: Aspen8 | Date: Aug 27th, 2008 9:36 AM
KRISTIN - Good luck with your appointment today. Let us know how it went. I'm definitely gonna enjoy our bd'ing next cycle! :-) ***KRISSY - Wow. You didn't get done your laundry until 3am? What a pain in the tush. That "should I save money or save time" question is one that I notice myself wrestling with more and more often these days. I don't think there is any one right answer....totally depends on what's going on that day/week. Sometimes it feels great to be virtuous and save money and other times, you just want your life to be easier, damn it! Lol. I hope you get back into a house with a washer and dryer soon...not to mention get your own transportation. I think that's one the of things I hate most: not being able to come and go as I please. Even if my car is in the shop for inspection or whatever, I'm a great big baby about it!

Tidbit for anyone concerned about the quality of their cm:
"L-Arginine: L-arginine promotes the increased presence of cervical mucus by supporting the production of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is produced naturally by the body and is central to a number of bodily functions. Nitric oxide dilates blood vessels and helps promote blood flow to the uterus and ovaries. Nitric oxide also facilitates the increase of cervical mucus around the time a woman ovulates. In one study by Morlin and Hammarstrom (2005), "nitric oxide (NO) administration markedly increased cervical secretion" for women taking NO-supporting supplementation in the test group. Nitric oxide has also been shown to prepare the uterus for implantation by promoting endometrial secretions (which builds healthy uterine lining). " I haven't checked into this citations to see if they're for real, but here they are: "° Research on Nitric Oxide was awarded The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, 1998

° Morlin B, Hammarstrom M., 2005. Nitric oxide increases cervical secretion at the ovulatory phase in the female. Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand. Sep; 84 (9): 883-6

° Gorodeski GI., 2000. NO increases permeability of cultured human cervical epithelia by cGMP-mediated increase in G-actin. Am J Physiol Cell Physiol., May; 278(5):C942-52

° Morlin B, Andersson E, Bystrom B, Hammarstrom M. Nitric oxide induces endometrial secretion at implantation time. Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand. Nov; 84(11): 1029-34

° Gianotten WL, te Velde ER., 2005. The influence of sexual function on the chance of pregnancy. Ned Tijdschr Geneeskd. May 28;149(22):1207-10"

Name: Aspen8 | Date: Aug 27th, 2008 11:30 AM
Addendum: The fact that NO plays such an important role in fertility is great, but what I DON'T see a citation for is the idea that L-Arginine supplementation increases the body's production of NO. They say it's so....but they don't cite a study to back it up. Doesn't mean it ain't true, of course, but I'd prefer to see one. Anyway, several of the books I read have recommended L-arginine supplementation at 3-4 grams per day and I haven't found any info saying that it's not healthy to do it...sooo....I tried it last month. If you remember, I posted that I was having the most and best cm since January when I started keeping track. Was it because of the L-Arginine? Or the cleaned up diet and better nutrition, the increased exercise or the Chinese herbs or other suppements? No clue. (Which is the problem with changing more than one variable at a time, but I'm in a hurry, darn it.) But it's interesting, anyway....

Hello, hello, hello to all the wonderful ladies on this thread. Well I see Julia started a new thread annnd it already has ten thounsand posts on it! hee hee. Well as for me, I got my nerve block on Monday and I am still a little sore right on the puncture sight. Its been soooo good not feeling that pain. Well so far all of the blocks that I have had received have help a lot. I really don't have that constant pain I had a couple months ago. Julia** how are you kiddo? Aspen** I thought I was going through DEJAVU...reading the same post on two different threads. Anyway sweetie...how are you doing with your ttc? are you planning to get it going any time soon? I know I am.....ohh I'm looking soooo forward to it!!!...Just to think about the baby dancing!!....GRRRRR...hee heee I'll get some really good TLC from dh. I really do need to take advantage of my baby dancing rain checks ya know!!!...ok ok back to reality Maribel!!!! oh well Carly** nice meeting you!! Krissy** How are you chickie?? I am out his month sweetie...so I haven't been counting my days. As I posted earlier this week, I had to put my pregnancy attempts on hold for this month and maybe the next, due to a nerve block I had back on Monday. I should start next month...depending on my doc!. I am still your buddy...you know that!! AF is due on Sept. 3 for me too and no matter what happens...I will drag your tushy down with me until December...you hear me!! Aspen8 - I totally understand not having a car it really sucks big time. It really limit you to the things you can do. I'm praying that I have some type of transportation before the end of Sep. Everybody please say a prayer for me. How are you doing?

***MaribelsHope - I'm glad the nerve block is helping you. I know you really can't wait to start the baby dancing again. I am keeping my fingers cross that your doctor give you the all clear next month. That's funny on the name change for Aspen8.

***My only unpdate for today my temp did go up some so I am happy about that. Yesterday cd 23 9dpo my temp was 98.49 and today cd 24 10dpo my temp is 98.52 if my temps keep going up for the next few days then I will test this weekend if not and they start going down, down, down, then I know AF will be knocking on I guess I will have to let her in. I will have to call my doctor and let hime know that she showed up again and see what he wants to do for Sep cycle. If I don't have a car then I will not be able to go and see him unless he just talk to me over the phone and I doubt that cause he want that copay. So Sep might be my month to rest officially from taking any types of medicines. I will keep you all updated. Sending tons of baby dust. Krissy68

Krissy68-it's good to hear from you. I should stop using the opk after my +s but I keep going. Those things are expensive. I like the idea about testing twice in a day. All I know is that I ovulated between cd13-15. I'm currrently cd22 and my boobs started feeling sore (although they usually do) but I also feel bloated and crampy. I don't know what to think because I think I feel something every month-bloating is new. I will try to hold off testing until Monday-too many negatives already. Aspen8-thanks for the info. Did you get the suppliment at a health food store?
Maribelshope-I think we will both be fighting the urge to test too early! Hopefully BFP for us all. Kristin72-how far along are you? Did you have a sono today for dates? I don't know how you girls get so much bding in. I can barely fit in the 3 days. I wish for more back up days but then it really feels contrived and not sexy. If it doesn't happen this month then we will take a few months off due to timing issues. Hopefully this will bring our fun times back.

Hello Everyone. I have been hiding out wallowing in my disappointment, and working some really LONG days. I decided not to skip this month, since the Clomid was covered, and it's my last month of it. I really want a break, so I can get a handle on my emotions that the hormones like to control. :( Plus I thought it might give me some perspective. But, looking at the big picture - I've got the rest of my life for emotional control and perspective, so I am going to keep going. The good news is that I am already within days of ov, so that's good. I go for my u/s Saturday morning to see when my next IUI will be. Probably Monday or Tuesday. Also, dh's schedule is better this week, and we can bd days 8-13. My coworker swears that every other day is not enough, so the plan is to try to cover every day. Since dh works nights sometimes, we miss each other sometimes entirely, and it's very difficult to bd without him. I am glad to see everyone else's news, and I will check in later to catch-up. Baby Dust to Everyone!!

Hello everyone! For those of you keeping track. . .I just wanted to check in for a quick hello and update. You may recall I had scheduled a repeat c-section for 8/19 but. . . my water broke early in week 37 on 8/12. I was in labor at the hospital for 6 hours before I walked into the operating room for my C. They made me wait because I had eaten a burrito for lunch one hour before my water broke and they wanted me to wait to digest it first. My precious beautiful baby boy was born at 11:22pm on 8/12 weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. Thankfully no preeclampsia this time but the doctor was considering doing an earlier C because of my elevated bile acids in my blood and unsafe for the baby and the itching was getting intense. That decision was made for us when my water broke. Unfortunately we had a little setback when on the day we were supposed to be discharged my baby spiked a fever. The pediatrician suspected an infection and ordered a spinal tap, chest x-ray, blood and urine cultures to rule out meningitis, pneumonia and try to find out what was wrong. During the spinal tap his heart rate dropped and stayed at a constant low rate of 85-95 (120-160 being norm). My poor little guy was wheeled off to the NICU three floors down from my hospital room and a football field's length away for EKG which was normal (thank God) and 24 hour monitoring of his heart and respiratory rates while getting fluids and intravenous antibiotics. I cried for days while waiting for results. On my day of discharge my dh, our toddler and I checked into a hotel nearby and I spent the next week taking a shuttle to the hospital, hiking to the NICU to be with my baby and to drop of my expressed breastmilk as well as breastfeed him. I think I ripped a stitch or two with all that walking I have a huge bruise above my incision. All the baby's cultures came back normal and we still don't know where the infection was but we're just thrilled that our baby bounced back to good health after 7 extra days in the hospital. He has seen his pediatrician twice since being discharged and he is gaining a good amount of weight--he's already up to 7 pounds 3 ounces!! He's more alert and happy now. We named him Daniel. BTW, some of you may recall that in my first trimester screening there was a screen positive for Down syndrome, and I had prepared myself for that but apparently it was a false positive. The pediatrician's who assessed Daniel said the baby does not have any signs of DS. We're happy to be home! Getting used to taking care of a toddler and a newborn at the same time is tough stuff but I'm thrilled that despite a few minor setbacks along the way I'm able to do this--as tiring as it may be. My toddler has been a real tropper too and is in love with his baby brother too but he's still learning to handle him with care. All my best wishes to you ladies who are expecting or TTC. I wish you all will have healthy pregnancies and perfect deliveries. Now on to get some much needed sleep.

texas22 - How are you doing? Keeping my fingers cross for you. I'm on cd 25 11dpo and I tested and it was a bfn. I am down and depress I know AF is on her way so I mind as well get ready.
***JuliaB - How are you doing? I am so glad you changed your mind. I will keep you in my prayers and everything cross for you. Hang in there.
*** Hey ladies here is my little update. I am down, sad and depress. I know I said I wasn't going to test until this weekend well I lied. Okay let me refresh your mind. on cd 21 7dpo my temp dip down to 97.83 (my very first implantation dip according to FF) then on cd 22 8dpo my temp went way up to 98.74 and i took a hpt and it was Neg. I told myself it was too early to be testing. On cd 23 9dpo my temp went down some to 98.49 I was like okay not worrying yet then on cd 24 10dpo it went back up some to 98.52 so I was getting happy well today at cd 25 11dpo it went way down again to 98.26 but I am still above the coverline. I took another hpt and it was Neg. My only symptoms is now my boobs are starting to hurt a little, my lower back is kill me, I feel real crampy, and quessy and I get the feeling that I need to throw up but that is about it. I am starving like I just can't get enough to eat. So as you can guess I am down, depress and sad. Krissy68

Krissy, don't feel bad and depressed. I felt like that too..but try not to get discouraged as it adds to the stress of things. It is going to happen for you very soon..and same for everyone else here. It breaks my heart ..as I know the desire becomes almost unbearable as we get let down every cycle. Believe me even though I got my bfp..the worry is not over. I know I am over one hurdle just to come up to several more. I worry now there will be no heart beat..that I will miscarry, that the baby could have birth defects etc. Funny enough the fertility clinic called today to set me up with a consultation. Anyway..keep your head up ladies. It just takes a matter of time..your body wants the conditions to be perfect in every way. With every cycle we have a chance...that is what the miracle of life allows for us women still ovulating. There are so many women who do conceive well into their forties. In fact I don't know too many who have had any health concerns with their children either...thank goodness for prenatal testing. So smile enjoy your long weekend. Keep your fingers crossed..and say a little prayer (if you are at all religious) I am not very religious but I made a wish 2 weeks ago when I was in a church for God to Bless me with a healthy child again. Hey one week later I got my bfp!! Have a great weekend ladies!!

Name: Kristin72 | Date: Aug 28th, 2008 5:35 PM
OMG..PERL!!! I must have been writing my reply soon after you wrote yours. CONGRATULATIONS on your littlle (healthy baby boy) Sorry to hear of the fever setback..but I am glad it is gone now and that your baby is home with you and your hubby and little Peter. As you may be aware I finally got my bfp. But we can talk about that later..when/if you ever get the chance to check in again. I am truly happy for you..good luck with everything. Take CAre of yourself..and rest rest rest!!!!! XO ALL the best to you and your family..What is your new little guys name? xo

Thanks Kristin and Maribelshope! It's good to be back home with baby and family. Kristin: Congratulations on your BFP!!!! When did you find out and how far along are you now?

Name: Krissy68 | Date: Aug 29th, 2008 3:36 PM
Perl - Congrats on the birth of your son. I am so happy that all his test came out normal and that you all are home. How are you feeling? Give him a kiss for me. Take care of yourself and get some sleep mama. ***Kristin72 - Thank you so much for the words of encouragement I realy needed it. I am really trying to stay upbeat and not really think to much into this cycle but it is so hard especially all the first time some of the things are happening to me. Example first time I got a HIGH chance to conceive and the first time I got a implantation dip right on 7dpo. I am saying prayers for myself as well as for all the ladies. Guess What??? My boob are now starting to get sore and they are feeling a little heavy and my temp really went up from yesterday I was cd 25 11dpo and the temp was 98.26 and today cd 26 12dpo and my temp are 98.56. I didn't test today cause I wanted to wait it out. My doctor want me to test tomorrow and sunday which will be cd 27 & 28 I will only do this if my temp is higher then today's normally when AF is about to start knocking my temps start going down, down, down around 11 dpo. FF said to test on Sep 2 that will be cd 30 and AF is suppose to start on Sep 3. I will let you know. I am sorry but you will have to wait until Tueday because my home computer is down unless I can get it up and going I will update before then. *** Aspen8 - You have a great weekend as well and you have a lot of reading to do (smile). ***MaribelsHope - Thank you for the support you have a very nice weekend. I'm off from my day job Sat - Mon and I am off my night job Fri-Sun but I have to work Monday night. I'm just going to sit at home and just chill out I might read a book. Since I don't have a car to get around I will be stuck in the house unless someone come and pick me up. You are correct they did make changes to it and I don't like it.
Hey ladies here is a little update on me. If anyone have FF and want to look at my chart and tell me what it is looking like to you please do it is home/1f662e. Today is cd 26 12dpo and my temp went way up from yesterday's cd 25 11dpo 98.26 to 98.56. I'm kinda excited but nervous because normally when I get to 11dpo my temps start going down, down, down so then I know AF will be knocking like clockwork. I am starving like I just can't get enough to eat or like I haven't ate in weeks, my lower back is killing me, I'm ready to take a nap, I am very constipated (sorry tmi) and normally when it is getting close to AF my bowel are soft (sorry again tmi), my boobs are getting sore and heavy and I am seeing veins. If my temps are higher tomorrow then today I might go ahead and test my doctor wanted me to test anyway on sat/sun which is cd 27/28 but FF said to test on cd 30 which is Sep 2 and AF is due on Sep 3 my cycles are normally 30 days. What do anybody think of this. I'm still in the running until AF show or don't show. I can't give you a update until Tuesday because my home computer is down but I am going to try and clean it up and see if I can get it to working and if I do then I will be posting over the weekend. I want Everybody to have a very Happy and Safe Labor Day Holiday and I hope to see some BFP. Love ya!! Krissy68

Perl-I'm happy to hear your little boy is thriving. The NICU visit is always scary. My lo was in bc he was 5.5 weeks early. He stayed for 2 weeks and I kept telling myself he was where he needed to be. I'm glad your stay was shorter. Now get some well deserved sleep! Krissy68-you have patients. i wanted to pee on a test just thinking about you! I'm cd25 and itching to test but also waiting. AF is due on the 3rd also. My boobs hurt, I'm slightly bloated, and hungry but it might all be in my head like the past cycles. My dh keeps asking do you feel anything and I keep saying nope. I don't want him to get excited again just to have AF show up. Your tmi about your symptoms before your cycle are just like mine. I don't nind tmi bc I need it. Well gotta go.

MARIBEL - "Encyclopedia Brittanica"...lol. I'm glad you aren't having to deal with all that pain! That's awesome. AF started today, 3 days early, so I'll be bd'ing soon! ***KRISSY - I checked your FF page today to see what's going on but it was obvious that you weren't able to get your computer going since your chart doesn't include the weekend temps. So what's happening?!?!?!?!?!? Did they stay up or are they heading down? My fingers are crossed! ***PERL - CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY BOY! That first week must have been terrifying, gut-wrenching, and exhausting beyond words. I can't imagine being told that my newborn has to undergo a spinal tap. I'm speechless and it didn't even happen to me and my son. Wow. BUT....I suppose all's well that ends well and it sounds like Daniel is doing great! (I love the name Daniel, it's one of my "short list" boy names in case I get pregnant.) I hope you've been able to recover from that week while juggling the care of a toddler and a baby. Do you have a mom or a mother-in-law or other family nearby who can help out a bit? ***KRISTIN - Sending extra good, positive energy your way. How are you feeling? How did your appointment go?!!!??!?! ***TEXAS - Hi! Didja test yet? ***JULIA - How's the every day bd'ing going? Did you ovulate already? How are you feeling overall.....did you get through the last Clomid month okay?

My update - As I said earlier, AF showed up 3 days early this month. I'm not sure if my luteal phase suddenly shortened by 3 days or if I actually ovulated earlier than I thought I did. My lowest temp WAS three days before the day FF and I thought I ovulated, but my cm and a few other things seem to point to that later day. My temps were a little screwy right then though, so....dunno. Either way I'm not thrilled...don't wanna ovulate early...feels like the egg doesn't have time to fully mature when I ovulate on day 10 or 11 instead of 13 or 14....and I REALLY don't want to start having luteal phase length problems!!!!!! But, it's over and done with and it's a new cycle and I'll be ttc-ing this month. I'm glad I took that break. I feel better and I'm ready to go. I'm gettin' pregnant this fall, dammit! Lol. Happy Labor Day...enjoy the extra "weekend" day.
