I have trouble sleeping at night. I get more sleepy during the day time which doesn't help me because I am still working full time 12 hours a day. I know it is safe to take tylenol during pregnancy, but what about tylenol products, such as sinus, PM, etc for headaches/sleepless nights? ↓

I am 31 weeks and recently pulled a muscle in my back. The only way to relieve the pain and sleep through out the night was to take Tylenol every four hours. My doctor told me that Tylenol would not hurt my baby but would affect my liver it I took it all the time. She said that if the pain did not go away in a few days to call her but to continue taking tylenol until then. So, yes you can take REG tylenol just limit your doses. Ask your doctor about the sinus, PM, etc products. I don't believe that you can take them. ↑

You are wrong Detheal. I was just at the doctor on Monday and my doctor said I could take Tylenol PM to sleep. He said it contains Tylenol and the same ingredient as Benadryl, which you can also take. Of course, he said not to take it every night. Also, you can take Tylenol Sinus. Just not everyday. I have had the same doctor for 5 years and he is great. He delivered my son two years ago. I do agree with the warm bath, it really does help. Good luck. ↑

i had broncitis last week and i was allowed to take tylenol, sudafed, robitussin dm, benadryl and an inhaler...all in moderation of course and i am 15 weeks pregnant. ↑

I also agree with Misty. According to my doctor....one can take tylenol during pregnancy, however, try to avoid if at all possible. Taking only when you think that you really need it. ↑

This is my 3rd pregnancy. It is safe to take tylenol and benedryl. It's better to be comfortable than miserable with pregnancy pain. I take benedryl a couple time a week to sleep. People will try to scare you with all the hype of no drugs in pregnancy but these are perfectly safe, there has never, ever been a study that showed harm to a fetus from tylenol/benedryl use. ↑

Hmm, well, like Tru said, it varies on everyones pregnancy, but, I have problems sleeping too, and I have a lot of pain, I can deal with it during the day, but it keeps my awake at night (especially my ankle, I fractured it in 23 places last year), anyway, my ob told me that any kind of tylenol is safe, but I'd check with the doctor first... ↑

I have been suffering from Migrqanes for about 2 weeks now and my Doctor says it is fine to take max 3 extra strength tylenol 3 times a day only if needed. But do not take Advil or Ibuprofen as becasue it thins your blood out.. That is all i know sorry i couldnt be much more help. ↑

I am 34 weeks and am suffering from strep throat. Last nite I went to the hospital with a high fever, headache, sore throat, and vommiting. My doctor told me that Tylenol is safe to use during pregnancy, as long as it is used correctly. he also said that i should stay away from ASA based products like Ibuprofin and Motrin and Advil. In case you were wondering, he also gave me gravol, to help with the vommiting. I can take a maximum of eight extra strength tylenol per day, and one gravol every six hours. ↑
I am 10 wks, and suffering two days w/migraine headache. Is it safe to be using tylenol at such an early stage of pregnancy? ↑

I am 35 weeks pregnant with twins and my nasal congestion has been keeping me up for about 2 weeks now. I was at the OB today and she said it is ok to take Sudafed or Benadryl. Has anyone else taken Benadryl -D... which is the antihistimine as well as the decongestant? I am so scared to take anything, but breathing is a problem and I am not relaxed enough to sleep... ↑

I just had my 12 week Check-up and I have your same issues... my midwife assured me that it is perfectly safe to take Tylenol PM, Tylenol simply sleep, and UNISOM. ↑

hi! everyone
i m 13weeks and at abt 7-8 weeks i was hurting so bad all over my stomach and back and i asked my dr n he said to take tylenol n it didnt work so he also prescribed me something for pain which was a little higher dose.......n he said only take it at nite time ....it is perfectly all rite to take tylenol and certain prescribed drugs under the observation of ur dr........as long as its taken in a moderation

My dr has told me benedryl, tyelnolPM, Unisom, and MOST over the counter meds are okay during pregnancy EXCEPT asprin, motrin etc like others have said in here that THIN THE BLOOD. And all use as directed and only as needed. As far as plain old tylenol causing a miscarriage at 4 months, i think there may have been other unknown and unexplainable reasons because this is my 3rd baby and i have taken regular tylenol many many times throughought them due to migraines, a kidney infection once, and other various pains and never ever had any problems. Im no dr but these are the things my drs (yes more than one) have told me, and my experiences and I really hope this helps some of you ladies :) Take care everyone ↑

Oh also, if there is something that you do not feel comfortable taking, or will make you so stressed the day after that its hardley worth taking it in the first place, DONT TAKE IT. Nothing is worse than feeling like you did something wrong and worrying all the time that you may have done something to harm your baby (even though you're most likey just fine) Im sure you all know what i mean. Talk with your dr's until YOU feel sure that YOU are okay with taking it. I think a big part of this all is due to newer research and old "ways" that we have all heard time and time again and grown to believe was the only thing right...they come out with new things all the time that may contradict things our mothers and grandmothers tell us....take care ↑

Another tip on pregnancy-- If you mush take tylenol take the lowest dose neccesary. I take childrens tylenol and I can get away with 160 mg. To ease a bad headache to the bearable stage. ↑

The best thing you can take for sinus symptoms in pregnancy is Sudafed Plus, or Sudafed Allery and Sinus. They are actually the exact same medicine. I know that it is perfectly safe to take and is what my Dr. recommends. You can also have regular tylenol and Rx pain killers such as vicodin if you are in real pain. Just talk to your doctor about it! ↑

RE: PP and taking Children's Tylenol -- I totally agree with taking the lowest dose possible to ease your pain, but be careful! Some children's medications are actually HIGHER in dosage than adult due to the difference in adult and child metabolisms. Never assume that a child's medication is equal or lesser than the adult version - consult your doctor. ↑
It isn't safe to take those because they have other agents in them, namely "pseudoephedrine hydrochloride" for sleepless nights, I think that Gravol is safe but don't take it often (every night) and don't go above the recommended nights. I have sleepless nights too and just suffered the worst cold of my life. I wish I had a better answer for you. ↑
