Weight gain. Twins -vs- Singleton

For those that have done both, how was your weight gain and loss of your twin pregnancy compared to that of your singleton? I'm finding conflicting information, with many moms saying they actually gained less weight with their twin pregnancy simply because two babies took up more stomach room so they ate less! And several that said once the huge twin belly was gone, they realized that was where all the weight had been and wore pre-pregnancy clothing righ away compared to singleton pregnancies. What has your experience been?

Honestly, I gained a lot more with my singeltons. I gained almost 50-60 lbs on both but with my twins, I believe I gained around 40 lbs. I think a lot has to do with the lack of room for a lot of food and also I had to drink so much water I was always full just from that. As for the weight loss, the twin weight came off a lot fast because of the two babies, placentas and bags was water. Just the babies together weighed a total of 14 lbs! I probably lost 1/2 the weight I gained right there in the delivery room.

LOL... i gained 70lbs with the twins and now I am pg with a single and have lost weight so far. I'm way to sick with the singleton to eat right. its slowly getting better... it took me 8 months to fit into my pre=preg cloths after twins

well I'm a mother of a 5 year old and now currently 17 weeks pregnant with my idential twin girls.
Sorry but I beg to differ, in my case I've already gained 30 pounds (mostly on my stomach alone) and I'm not 1/2 way through my prgnancy yet..lol
I only gained about 40lbs-45lbs through my whole first pregnancy with my son alone..lol
