Ever since we moved into this apartment, once or twice or more a week, there are some smoke smell come from the ventilation of the bathroom, and migrates to the shower room, wak-in closet, and even my bedroom occasionally, where my hasband and I, and my baby sleeps. I am going to have another baby now, and really really worried about the second-hand smoke and the health of my babies. I have talked to the manager and he said it most likely come from the neighbour above me. He said he was going to talk to them, but it has not getting any better after a year. What can I do, is there any air purified I can buy? They are not cheap, can I persuade the lanlard to pay for it? I think it is very unlike that they will agree... What should I do to preteft the health of my unborn child and the baby?

Is moving an option? That may be the best way to get away from it, but I know it's not always that easy. Is the building supposed to be non-smoking? If so, you may be able to push the landlord a little. If he doesn't want to force the issue, then I would definitely recommend an air purifier, even if you have to pay for it yourself. Another option would be to go above the manager's head if he won't handle it. I'm sorry you have to deal with this!

Thank you very much for you reply. For the health of my family, I am hunting for an air purifier now since it will be another 4 months before we can move out of this not non-smoke building. Lesson learned, will never move into a not non-smoking building again.

I will choose a HEPA filter with carbon pre-filter, such as Honeywell 17000N or 50250. Do you have recommendation of any model? Thanks

You might be able to get a filter for the vent that would be cheaper then a air purifier.
Also try contacting your local housing authority to see if there is anything legally you can do......I doubt it but its worth a shot.

I tried to post a link for the filter I had in mind but this website wont allow it. Google "vent filter" or ask at your local hardware store

Hey CGirl, I contacted the rental office so far they haven't done a thing. They can not ask my neighbour to stop smoking since it is not on the lease, besides, it is diffiult to locate who did that. Is it what you mean by "housing authority"?

Will you please e-mail me the link of the vent filter? my account is ccc0022( it is a hotmail account). I can not paste it directly, plpease add the .com Many Thanks!
