when i was 40 weeks pregnant with my first child i drank rasberry leaf tea all day i made my last cup really strong before going to bed that night my waters broke so its worth a try it i am now 34 weeks pregnant again and i am itching to try it again to see if it was the tea that worked ↑
I'm 38 weeks, 3cm dialated, 90% effaced and baby is in -1 station. I've been dilated 2 cm and 60% effaced for over 2 weeks. This is my 4th child-first was at 37 weeks, 2nd was at 36 weeks and 3rd at 37 weeks. You would think this one would be early too, but doesn't look that way. I've been having terrible cervical stabs to the point I can't walk. I'm only 5'2" so I think I just don't have any room left-all 34 lbs is in my belly and pelvic area...OUCH! Any way, I've heard that if you walk on a curb (one foot up on the curb) or swing, that's suppose to help progress dilation. I haven't tried it, but thought I'd add it. Gosh, how the heck do you ladies get geered up for sex...I feel so large and am so sore down there, I can't muster up the drive. Good luck to you all! ↑
I have tried everything possible and nothing has worked for me so far. I am due tmw and extremely impatient now. I tried the castor oil thing at 38weeks but nothing. I have been going for walks everyday and having sex but still nothing.! ↑
You can get raspberry leaf tea at most health food stores... or the health food (often organic) section of your grocery store. That's where I got it. Its not cheap, but desperate times call for desperate measures. ↑
My old babysitter told me an old P.R. wives tail, to boil 6 cinnamon sticks in 2 cups of water and drink it. I did that and my daughter was born within 50 mins of getting to the hospital that night. 2 pushes. No pain meds except demerill. Worked great. ↑
I used the raspberry tea last pregnancy and walked a pit bull, actually the pit walked be but either way, went into labor the next morning. Don' know which one worked but try it. I got the tea at GNC. I tried castor oil with my 1st child, and all I did was poop and throw up all day long, will never try that again. ↑
by the way. Im due tomorrow (turkey day). I thought celestial seasonings red raspburry tea whs teh same as the tea everyone talks about. i guess i was wrong. im sending hubby to get the real thing tomorrow lol. and what is pineappple supposed to do to you? ↑
My first baby was 3 weeks early so I expected that this one would do the same thing. My baby is due in 3 days and I have stopped feeling so anxious about when I will go into labour. Lets face it, the baby will be born, it won't stay there forever, the arrival is inevitable. Just relax and fill your time with the things you know you won't be able to do with a newborn. Best of luck... ↑
thats hard to do in my cast jenny. I mean a baby is considered as healthy as he or she can be at 40 week being full term (so i was told). I think I want to ask for medical help (induction) probably for friday or saturday which would make me a week and a half overdue. I dont think im doing duch a bad thing. But for the ones that are asking to be induced at 37 weeks....let it go..the baby isnt quite full term until 38 weeks. ↑
Hi All, I wrote back when I was 38 weeks (nov 12) and I too was so ready to have my baby. Well, I finally had her 2 days ago and now looking back I'd have to say I wouldn't change a thing. She is the first out of 4 that I went full term (she was due 11/27 and I had her 11/26 at 6:30 pm). She is absolutely perfect. Her skin color, her weight all her labs, everything. She is calm and such an easy happy baby. I even got to go home with her 24 hours after having her because we were both doing so well. So, long story short, I just wanted to say to everyone, even though you are anxious and sore and tired, the longer the baby is in your womb, the better he or she will be (I think). And I hope for all of you (as it was for me) all the dues you are paying now, false labors, aches, pains of dilating early on, will pay off in the end with a quick, easy labor. My water broker at 5:00 pm, I got to my room at 6:00 pm and delivered at 6:32...8 contractions and I was done!!!! I can't compain about any of it now! The trade off was well worth it! Good luck and happy holidays to everyone. ↑
A friend told me to drink a pint of cod liver oil and orange juice, this really dose work though you'll be on the toilet for an hour maybe 2 after drinking it. ↑
My mother-in-law is a labor and delivery nurse with 35 years experience. With my first she had me do nipple stimulation and walk a ton. that mostly made labor quick once it finally came. I did take an enema at home (fleet brand) the night before I delivered. took that at 12pm, had one contraction at 8:30 pm, slept and my water broke at 6am the next morning. I'm going to buy my enema tonight and see if I can get the same thing to happen this time:-) Good luck. ↑
TO "SOMEONE AGAIN"---I am not sure who gives you your information, but castor oil will NOT kill the baby. The worst it will do is make you have a lot of bowel movements. Just thought you should know. ↑
I've tried everything, im 38 1\2 weeks with my 3rd baby, i tried rasberry tea, sex, nipple stimulation, four wheel driving, the brown sugar thing & even castor oil x3 nothing seems to work, this baby just doesnt want to come out any other ideas. ↑
You can also try Calry Sage oil, as a warm compress on your belly, or mix some with lotion and use for a belly massage, or put 3 to 4 drops in a warm bath. ↑
I'm from the UK and Sex worked for within about 30 mins ! A friend of mine had a salt bath and that worked for her - don't know if its medically advisable or not. ↑
I tried something with my son when I deliver him.It did HELP me go into labor sooner. think about it. gravity pulls down so squat down and rock your hips alittle and stay in that position until you can't do it no more. rest and repeat until the baby head drop further into the cervix and sooner the labor starts. I went into labor 24 hours later. try it it may work for you. I pregnant guess and started doing it at 28 weeks. She already dropped and the heartburn has lessen. ↑
Hey, I've never been on here, but I'm real glad to see I'm not the only one frustrated- I was starting to feel I would be a bad mother by being so unpatient. but I'm 18 years old, this is my first child, and I am wanting this baby out before christmas, my boyfriend lives 1 1/2 hours away, and I would like to spend time with the baby and him on christmas, but The baby doesn't seem to be coming. I've tried everything except castor oil, and wine, and the brown sugar, so I'm off to try that (the brown sugar) and hopefully it works. you guys helped out so much! but has anyone heard of baking soda and orange juice? I read it somewhere once, and never again, so I didn't want to try unless totally sure. and with the pineapple, I'm not sure, and don't be mad if I'm totally wrong but I just read it has something to soften the cervix, and induce labor, but it has to be fresh pineapple I guess, which Is a bummer, because i've been trying it, but I've been eating canned pineapple, so I don't know if that helps any. :) ↑
a very very hot curry, one glass of red wine, and sex straight after, and try to walk up and down the stairs a couple of times just to finish the job ↑
hi i will be 40 weeks on saturday i would really like my baby to come b4 christmas i have tryed everything that everyone has said so far but i havn't tryed the brown sugar drink im planing on trying that next has any of the women that tryed it had there babies yet? and just a word of warning to any one thinking of trying castor oil i was pooping like water and vomiting 4 24 hrs after taking it and still no baby but if u still want 2 try i hope it works better 4 u ↑
Hey, I tried the brown sugar, and still havn't had my baby. I think that everything that happen- as of people trying stuff, and then going into labor is just a coincidence. I've tried so much, and nothing has happen, I envy you, lol. I am really looking forward to having my baby, but it just seems as if it's not going to happen- like it's all a dream.
I told my doctor about the evening primrose oil and she told me it's not a good thing to take because it has estrogen in it. So you baby's getting the estrogen as well as you. ↑
