My dd has been very vocal lately babbling so much and then today she makes no sound at all. she responds by looking at me if i talk to her and she does smile a little bit but she is not showing as much emotion as usual, making no sounds, not even crying! is this pretty normal for babies to just have "off" days? i am just going to see if she is feeling better tomorrow but if she isnt then im going to call the doctor just in case...what do you think? ↓
As long as she is responding to sound, she is fine. She may just be entertained enough that she doesn't feel the need to coo. However, if she doesn't respond to loud noises or your voice then I would take her in to be seen. You said she looks at you when you talk to her, so I really wouldn't worry. ↑
Babies are notorious for teasing us with their new tricks, then they get bored with them and stop for awhile. Since she recently started babbling a lot more than usual, she might feel like she hit a milestone with it, and now she'll work on another new skill for awhile. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll get right back in the game soon. ↑
aww margie, alexa goes through SILENT days...where she just refuses to talk...or make a sound.... i think angelica is fine!!! she maybe trying to work on a new ability for you like thinking about trying a new word or maybe that big jump to crawling!!!! i am sure she is fine!!! ↑
oh my gosh, i am such a worry wart sometimes, thank you ladies for making me feel better! i think that you are right, she has been making sooo many changes lately! i bet that something BIG is right around the corner--crawling, talking walking?? Tony's theory is that all the changes her brain is making while she's learning "trips her out sometimes and she just has to take a chill day" hehe, he describes things so funny sometimes, but ya know what, he is a pretty smart daddy and as much as i hate to admit it sometimes, is usually right about our daughter--i think its because she has his personality all the way! i'll update you all and let you know if she is doing better today when i get home from work and check her out, her daddy said that she slept in until 9:30! ↑
If she seems otherwise okay I wouldn't worry too much. My girl has had her quieter days where she barely babbles a syllable and smiles every now and then. If she starts to seem sick or anything you could always feel free to contact her pediatrician. Try not to worry, oh the motherhood concerns we face everyday. I will trade attitudes with you today my silly little girl is being a fuss bucket, probably because we went out and had so much fun and now she can barely stand the thought of bedtime. ↑
