Hi! I am 7 weeks and I too have been having some spotting. Brown color. I am also nervous. I have read that if it becomes more like a period and accompanied by cramping then it could be cause for concern. Have you called you doctor yet?

hi, yes i went for an ultrasound last wk, he said it was too soon to know if something was wrong, i have an app. for next wk on thursday, he said he should be able to hear a heart beat by then. but im scared

at 5 weeks I went in and you could see the yolk sac and a little white spec. Went in a week later at 6 and 1 and we could see the heartbeat although the doctor said it was on the low of normal side at 105. So, she has me taking progesterone vag. suppositories. Apparently, it helps in preventing miscarriages. Have you had your levels drawn? Maybe ask about progesterone if you are still bleeding. I too have my appt. on Thursday to see if the heartbeat has gone up. Keep me posted on your status! I will send you some positive energy!

Im kinda of inthe same boat as you hun... I am only 5.5 weeks along and had bleeding/spotting a few days ago... I sacared me so I went to the Er for two days! GAH not fun. They had told me there that my baby had no heartbeat and recomended me to a crisis worker... The next day I recieved a call from my OBGYN who the Er sent my results to and she told me that there is still the sac just no fetal pole YET or heartbeat.... she told me as well that the ER should have told me something theree and they were in the wrong to make me thing I had lost my baby without being sure. SO I just want you to know tht there is still a chance. I am going into my doctors on tuesday so she can take my new hgc levels and another ultrasound,,, so I really hope by then thy can tell ..she told me that i should be 6.5 to 7 weeks by then and she knows many woman who still didnt see antyhiong by then... I also know a few people who didnt see heartbeats untill 8 weeks or so and still gave birth to a healthy baby. keep strong

Hi. I canceled my appt. today. I have just been so tired of the needless worry. I have decided to trust my body b/c it knows what to do. Woman have been doing this since the beginning of time (where there were no ultrasounds). Since I have come to this decision I have stopped spotting and I feel great, minus the tiredness and nausea. I am thinking about you today. Let me know how it goes.

hey! Glad to hear everything is ok! You must be feeling so much better. Yes, i rescheduled in 2 weeks where I'll be 10 weeks. I don't want to have anther u/s but I am hoping to use the doppler to hear the hb.

flaca: you need to have your doctor check your progesterone levels to make sure they are high enough. if your progesterone drops too low your body will treat your baby like a period and bleed it out. i'm disappointed your doctor didn't think of that.

hi, my sister is experiencing almost the exact thing as you at 7 wks she started bleeding bright red. While she has had some in the toilet mostly she has it when she wipes. She has had very little actually in the pad. She had thought it was done at the end of the third day then she had a little more on the fourth day. She has been upset. But she has had several pos preg tests. My mom and myself have had her lay down and take it easy. She has not gone to the doc yet. I guess i was interested to see if you kept doing your normal activities like work or exercise etc.?

Flaca, glad to hear you are doing good. Bleeding is indeed scary, but doesn't always mean the babe is in danger. I am 8 wk3d and at 5 weeks I started spotting and then had a few period like bleeds. Every u/s, including one in the ER, showed things were fine with the babe. They found a subchorionic hematoma near the placenta which is where the bleeding is coming from. Evidently, my doctor said they are common, it's just that most women don't bleed as much from them. Just something to have in your toolbelt to mention at the next u/s. Best of luck!

Hi - I just want to hear stories (both good/bad) of any women out there who spotted during their early pregnancy. I am experiencing very light brown/tan spotting w/ discharge (TMI?). I had a blood test yesterday & my HCG is 6728 & Progest is 25. Sounds good but they want me to come in for another test Monday to compare results. Of course, that's so far away in the future!!
Also, the only pregnancy symptoms that I have are missed period (obv), tender breasts & some fatigue. A little nausea but no throwing up or even gagging. Anyone been through this? I'm 5 weeks, 1 day.

Hi. I am 13 wks right now. At 10 wks I began having bright red bleeding that lasted 4 days. It was like I was having my period, there were clots in it too. I went to the dr. almost every day during that time and had u/s and the doppler to find the heartbeat and each time the baby looked good. They prescribed me progesterone pills to take and the bleeding just stopped after the 4 th day. I have been to the dr. since and the heartbeat is still good. They did mention a slight subchoironic hemorrhage. I am hoping that everything will go well the rest of the pregnancy. I am hopeful because I am almost in my second trimester ( I count 13.3 wks as the second trimester :).

Hi Toledo, I have a postive story for you with my first pregnancy. I started spotting around 5 weeks with browny discharge, even some red but only when I wiped. That lasted like 2 weeks on/off. I had quite a few ultrasounds to check on the babe and like a switch, it stopped after 8 weeks. The rest of the pregnancy was smooth sailing and I now have a H&H 17 month old toddler. Those level comparisons will be good info for you, but I totally know how long a weekend can be when you're wanting answers. I'm sure all is great. Those numbers sound good!
Maggie, aren't those SCH's scary? I am finding more stuff out there on them, but I had never heard of them before this pregnancy!!! I am on progesterone too and I don't know if the clot is just bleeding out, or if the prog is helping, but it seems to be slowing. Still scary stuff!!! Best of luck to you!

Hi there. Just wanted to give everyone an update. I went in for my 2nd blood test and the result came back with HCG at 16,500. My doctor said that's good, baby is progressing. But I'm STILL spotting on & off. It's been almost a week since I first noticed. It's still brown, still light but I was really thinking it'd be gone by now. However, my nausea has increased (no vomiting). The thought of fish tonight for dinner was a no-go. I'm going in for an ultrasound on Tuesday and hopefully will know more. I guess the good thing is that i have no pain and no red blood. Still worrisome though.

Thank you Jessica72 for the encouraging words!

hi toledo96, im glad to hear everythings fine, well 1 thing for sure is that if your nauseas increased, well i heard thats good news it means ur hormones r working propertly. also did they check ur urine make sure u dont have an infection cause i had one and dr says sometimes that makes u bleed.. and i bleed for like 3 wks and is was a period like, so dont worry and just rest asmuch as u can,,,
