breastfeeding question

since dd was born she's always only eaten about 3 oz at a time and now she is 8 months old. i breastfeed and have always found it strange, everyone is always talking about how their babies drink 6 + ounces. Her doctor said she is in the 90th percentile so i know i shouldn't be worried about her weight gain but it still bothers me a lot. she was 20 lbs 11 oz at the last 6 month visit. Every single time, from a bottle she will only take about 3oz,never more! could she just always be getting more from the boob and only want 3 oz from the bottle?or is breastmilk more filling then formula?

I believe formula is more filling than breastmilk to a point, that may be why she is only taking in 3 oz., but I think she may just not like formula very much if you are still breastfeeding, and she is more than likely getting a lot more than 3 oz from you when she is nursing. She sounds like she is a very healthy weight, so I wouldn't worry too much about it at all, you're doing a great job!

ohh sorry, i forgot to mention that it is expressed milk i USUALLY give her. i have gave her formula in emergency situations when i haven't had enough milk and gave her formula and she'd take one suck at most, then she went crazy crying her head off 'till she fell asleep ( she was in the car so i couldn't breastfeed!)
