Answer: That sucks jenn that you aren't dilated. I know with my first baby I wasn't dilated at all either, even when they induced me. I did the same thing, castor oil 2 days before my due date, and it didn't do anything for me either. I'm 34 weeks and 4 days with baby #2 and I'll probably just walk a lot more with this one. I heard if you take primrose oil it could help, but I don't know a lot about it. Good luck, and I hope baby comes soon for you. =

Answer: I have successfully used castor oil, BUT you have to take at least half the bottle and i was already 11 days late. it only worked once. I have otherwise been induced. Have sex before you take the castor oil and lay with your feet up for an hour so the sperm works like the postglandins you are induced with in hospital. Possibly have sex again before taking a LARGE yucky dose of castor oil and then about two hours later take somemore and then whilst running in and out of the toilet try a bit of phys ed. BTW if you are 34 weeks start taking raspberry tea pills. I DONT go into labour because of the odd position of my cervix. You can also have a cervical sweep. =

Answer: danger lies in the mother when using castor oil for labor induction. With the severity of the diarrhea, a laboring woman can quickly become dehydrated. Especially in a typically highly managed hospital birth where a woman is allowed few fluids. Dehydration makes one tired and less able to endure through physical activity. Plus, not only does this endanger breastfeeding (proper hydration is necessary to make adequate milk), but a dehydrated uterus is an aggravated uterus, and an aggravated uterus causes more pain for the mother. =

Answer: Yeah, you have to make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids if you do take castor oil. Just like any episode of diarrhea, there's a good chance you could get dehydrated. You know though, I've heard that some people don't even get the diarrhea. When I took it with my first pregnancy, I figured, well I'm constipated from pregnancy anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to go to the bathroom, I guess... lol :) =

Answer: Sorry hun,I tried it too after my due date had come and gone.(I was 12 days overdue) and ended up being induced.I wasn't dilated at all when I was finally induced,so I guess that's why it didn't work.I did get mild diarrhea that night but nothing bad.I don't have any tips,as I didn't go into labor on my own,but a lot of people walk.GL =

Answer: I can't say if it worked or not, I drank it 2 times . The first time it just gave me a little cramping, 2 days later I drank some more and it cleaned me out and the next night I went into labor. It's yuck, I can still taste it... I don't think I would do it again, YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! =

Answer: castor oil is very inaffective for starting labor. IN fact it is dangerous and cause the baby to have a bowel movement inside of you making both of you very sick. The best way to start labor is sex or nippple stimulation. take care. =

Answer: I just tried evening primrose oil. I did a lot of research and asked around about it. I had my husband put it "in there" and then we had sex. Now a couple of hours later my mucus plug fell out! The primrose oil supposedly helps your cervix open up and ripen it. I was shocked it worked that fast! I thought I had already lost my mucus plug b/c I had seen a little white chunk when I wiped on wed. But this one was a massive amount! Now I really know I lost it. I'm just amazed it worked! I just bought the caplets and took the oil out of it and had my hubby put it in. Try it and see if it works for you. I just hope I go into labor soon! You can also take them orally 3 times a day but I rather put it directly in there.  =
